I'm thinking about saving up to get myself a 360. (Mainly because I want to play DMC4, but the PS3 is a piece of shit.) That being said, I have a few questions and concerns that I was hoping some of the 360 users on this board could answer for me.

The Red Ring of Fire: What's the deal with this thing? I know that it's bad, but what exactly does it do to your system? What causes it? Is there a way to fix it? If not, is it at least covered by your warranty?

Which Model is the best? I like how the Elite Console looks, but is it really worth the extra $100 over the standard model?

Accessories: Which should I get? I figured I would get an extra controller and a couple of games, but is there anything else I should look into?

Wireless Controllers: What do these run on? Do they have an internal, rechargeable battery, or do they run on AAs? How long do they take to burn through their power supply?

That's all I can think up for now, but I'm sure I'll have more later. Any info you guys could share would be much appreciated.

1. Red Ring of Death: internal hardware failure. I'm pretty sure you just call up customer service and they'll send you a box to use to ship it to them for repairs. If they can't fix it they send you a new console. Haven't been through the process myself so maybe someone else could give better details. I'm not sure how it's covered either.

2. I don't know anyone with an Elite so I can't help you there.

3. If you go Preowned, you likely to get an early model. If you do, you'll find you need an intercooler to stop it overheating. I really only use my headset when I'm online against my friends, though that may be different for you. At least with the 360, the DVD remote is optional, so they're really only for convenience.

4. Wireless controllers can use a battery pack that comes with a USB cord to charge it while you play. Otherwise, you're on AA's. They tend to last a week with my playing habits, and when Halo 3 came out they went for 70+ consecutive hours. I don't know if they were fully charged to begin with.

Thanks. Here's one more questions:

Hack and Slash: Does it have any good ones? I mean, I know the 360 is known for it's FPS like Halo 3 and Bioshock, and that's fine, cause I like FPS as much as the next guy, but my true passion lies with the HaS genre. Besides DMC4, does the system have any good ones that don't require online play?

Ninja Gaiden II is coming out in spring. That's like, the ultimate hack and slash game.
