Re: DP183- Sinnoh League Opening. (Remixed OP + New ED! New BW Anime info!)

http://www.tv-tokyo.co.jp/program/detail/19406_201007011900.html

Translating that first paragraph, we have...

Finally, the climax of Satoshi's journey! The last battle of the Shinou region, finally the curtain on the Shinou league is raised! The conclusion of Satoshi and Pikachu's dream is...!? Shocking news about the new anime series to be announced.

Sadly it won't happen, as much as I'd love it to.

Even if Ash wins the league, that's not enough to wrap up his character. If Ash doesn't get to face off against the Elite 4 and beat them, he won't be wrapped up.

Not to mention Ho-oh's debut and the Giovanni/TR conclusion that we've been waiting 13 years for.

So as seen above, the TV Tokyo Summary for DP 183 has some teasing about Satoshi's future. As to not derail the episode discussion with speculation about this, I decided to copy Archaic's post and let you guys discuss the possible end of Satoshi's journey here.

I believe if this was the end the storyboarder would have mentioned this in her blog. So no, I believe Satoshi will still be with us this fall.

Daggit, not this thread again. Don't you remember what happened at the end of AG? I will not have this discussion again. I get enough with the Dawn debate and now this!? I refuse. You people never learn your lesson.

Maybe the show will bet set-up differently.

Ash could still be in the show, but take a backseat as a mentor character to the two new characters. Granted he was already like that to May and Dawn, but I mean Ash becoming like Brock is to an extent, where he's not as focused as much as a main.

Another idea is Ash becoming the rival to new protagonists. Meaning Ash is still in the show, but he'll only appear as often as Paul did in DP, like that.

Sadly I know this will never happen, and the BW saga will just continue the show for another 4-years like expected. The big fear now is the show will never get a proper conclusion at this point, and will be endless.

Why can't they just wrap up the show and re-boot it with all new protagonists?

The show now has 650+ episodes and 13 movies, isn't this enough for the same protagonist?

I'm not sold on anything, whether the future includes Ash or doesn't include him, until I get punched in the face with a new series.

They're probably just talking about his Shinou journey and not his whole "aim to be a pokemon master" journey.
That's exactly what I was thinking. At the very most, his involvement in certain episodes and whatnot may be different, but we already know he's not completely gone.

I wish they'd stop hyping up the end of every saga like its the end of Ash.

Remember how at the end of AG they acted like Ash's journey would end with him becoming a Frontier Brain? lol.

It's about damn time!
...

If it actually happened. I extremely doubt it is. I could have sworn they did this with the Advanced generation too...

If he 'leaves' he better not turn into a Brock, or I swear I'll kick my TV.

The Pokemon anime is basically following the path of The Simpsons. Never thought we'd be watching Ash for nearly 20 years, there is no reason why the show should be endless.

There's one possibility I've started to consider. What if this is the "end of his journey" in the sense that he's completed his goal of becoming a master? The B&W series could be a time skip. If Satoshi takes the role Takeshi currently has, it might explain a few things...

... That is actually plausible.

But fer Ash to become like Brock... That is a huge character difference. I can see it now:

Black: Oh a Pokemon! It will be my first catch!
Ash: Get out of the way! *shoves*
Black: But you are supposed to be my mentor, not a trainer!
Ash: Screw the Rules, I am a Pokemon Master!!!!!

Again, until we get that big Press Release and the accompanying blog article and even the first three episodes that pretty much spell out what's happening, I'm not going to commit to any particular path.

You're right, Archaic, the B&W could be a time skip. It could also just be another story in the long line of stories about Ash. It could be in the future. It could be a drama. It could be in space!

Lot's of things that might ultimately be too grandiose for the run-of-the-mill design philosophy behind the anime.

I would LOVE for this to happen, but I really doubt it. If that were the case, I somehow think our blog friend would've accidentally spilled the beans..
