I go to edit my signature and it says I've lost 4 points for insulting another member.

Now while I enjoy insulting people, let's take credit where it's due. I haven't insulted anyone on here. I'm actually pretty proud of myself <3

I honestly don't remember calling Zeta or gadfly Marv or anyone involved in the discussion a fag or a bitch or a motherfucker or whatever insults you can think of.

Now if I'm wrong and I've did that somewhere, I'll kiss your foot and apologize. But I don't think I did.

Well, 'fraid that's not an insult. If you LOOK like a girl, that does not make you a girl. If you are ACTING stupid, that is not the same as being stupid.

Saying something makes someone look moronic is not calling them a moron. Sorry. So if no one can find anything better than that, then I want it undone.

And frankly, I really hope that one of the members actually reported it. If the targeted person wasn't offended, then I don't see why I was reported. They obviously didn't see it as an insult.

Actually, I DID find it insulting. Though I ran it past the other mods and let them be the judge of whether or not an infraction should be handed out in case my being the subject of the insult made me biased. There was another one I pointed out as well. That one wasn't deemed insulting. I didn't argue.

Calling someone, or their idea, moronic is an insult in most people's books (unless it's someone, say, arguing that a scientific/historical/whatever fact is, in fact, not a fact. For example, saying gravity doesn't exist). There are more tactful ways to handle a difference in opinion than insults/name-calling.

I still don't think it's an insult, and I think you must be thin-skinned (*gasp* is that an insult?) but if you actually found it offensive, and you were the one targeted, then I accept that.

What I don't accept is when random browsers who did not participate in the discussion at all report stuff. I think it should be up to the person targeted wether its insulting or not.

So I'm cool with it then.

Uh, what? Something tells me you didn't bother to read the rules. Whether or not the person was insulted, what you did is still an infraction of the rules. And yeah, please use a different color.

I must have missed that. Probably happened in the "Reported Posts" thread in the admin forum nobody reads. There's no mention in the "Unofficially Official Idiot" thread.

Grow a spine, people. Yes, out and out flame wars are bad, but infractions because you say "Doing X makes you look bad/idiotic/moronic"? That's just...wussy.
