i bought heartgold the day it came out, and bored of it quickly. with the release of black and white in america still so far off, sonic games have taken up the empty space left by an absence of pokemon....

sonic games are so fun! am i right? cuz i'm just waiting for someone to agree with me. my favorite character is shadow. but i don't own any games for wii, and currently i'm bored of wii anyway. i've been playing Gamecube (SA2B, Mega collection, Shadow the Hedgehog, SADX) and PS2 (sonic heroes) instead. i'm not that old, so for me this is old school.

The first 3 (and Sonic and Knuckles, kind of an expansion to 3) are the best.

I found all the recent ones to be nearly unplayable. Speed and bad camera angles just doesn't flow so smoothly. Not a fan of any of the new characters either... (then again, I didn't even like Tails, he always cost me rings in the bonus stages... )

As far as recent games go, I'm loving the Rush series, while I can't really say anything too positive about the console games.

That being said, I'm very excited for Sonic 4, and more so, Sonic Colors. A game based around Sonic Unleashed's daytime stages sounds awesome.

Sonic is pretty awesome. My favorite games that were released were the Gamecube games. (Sonic Heroes, Sonic Adventure 2 Battle, Sonic Adventure, Shadow the Hedgehog, etc.)

Sonic used to be cool. Heros was the last good game. Secret Rings was the worst thing since wholemeal bread!

i know heroes was the last good one. shadow the hedgehog was ok at best and all the games for wii/xbox 360/ps3 suck!
the old games are ok, i have sonic mega collection, but as someone who grew up with a gamecube and not a genesis, i like those games better.

i will say though, the camera angles in sonic heroes can be just unbearable. and casino park is an awful level.

I actually liked some of the recent Sonic games, but they were WAY to short. I'm hoping Sonic 4 will be good...

I played some of the Mega Collection, and... eh, it's all right. I certainly did like the Sonic games better than most older platformers, probably because they avoided a lot of the absurd difficulty meant to keep you replaying the same areas over and over that was necessary to hide the short length of most NES games. Not great, but not bad either. I am looking for a copy of Sonic Gems Collection, though, because both Sonic CD (with its time-travel mechanics) and Tails Adventure (with its Metroidvania elements) sound pretty interesting.

I liked some of those I played, like the mandatory Sonic 3 & Knuckles, Sonic Rush and Sonic R. Sonic Heroes is OK, since it's my first 3D Sonic title, but somehow it's not very easy, since stages require a long time to complete and obstacles are tough to overcome for a change.

The last good sonic game on consoles was SA2. The recent handheld games have been good, however.

I love the old school Sonic games! Haven't played any of the new ones (last one I played was Sonic Adventures 2 for DC) but would love too, especially Black Knight.

I'm probably one of the few people who actually like the newer Sonic games, though that is mainly because I am willing to overlook technical difficulties if I like a game's story. I hated Sonic Unleashed though, the Werehog gimmick was a bad idea in the first place, and Chip was just awful. I like the older games too, but am less connected with them as I did not have the opportunity to grow up with them. My all time favorite game is Sonic Adventure 2, because it introduced my favorite character, Shadow.

I only like the Sonic games on the Sega Genesis. The new ones are terrible.
