Since BW2 is a sequel that means Alder isn't the champion anymore so who will we be facing in the league?
 
It doesn't necessarily mean Alder isn't the Champion anymore. But personally, I'm betting on either Drayden or Clay.
 
We saw Akuroma in the World Tournament in the first trailer. We can conclude that he is either a Gym Leader or a Champion. I'm betting that during the two years gap, Akuroma defeated Alder and became the new Unova Champion. Like BW, the climax will be in or near the league, we'll battle Akuroma which would happen to be part of Team Plasma. After the credits, we'll be able to challenge the league , and Alder again become champion.
 
Alder may still be the champion because the post-E4 challenge against him may not have been canon to the main series.

This theory is flawed because Ghetsis is also involved in this and may as well be the final boss in the story mode again.
 
Alder is referred to in CoroCoro as the BW Champion, so he obviously is no longer the champion. As for who is? We'll just have to wait and see.

Also, I don't think we've seen any proof that Ghetsis is involved in the World Tournament at all.
 
Youngster Joey from the Dreamyard. He and his trusty Rattata defeated Alder using the Focus Band endeavor trick.

The player as well as gym leaders participate in this as well. If he isn't Champion anymore my guess is one of the old E4, or the previous protagonist.
 
possibly we wont be facing the actual champion on the first run,like B/W

the final encounter for B/W 2 may be Ghetsis, otherwise Akuroma.

the champion we fight post-game can be Alder(i doubt this however),Drayden(why not?)or even Hilbert/da
