I have. I'm Asian, and have been to many Asian grocery stores, so it's normal for me. I just go to the snack section and get some occasionally.

And I have made my own. I used leftover short-grain rice and put spam in it. Tasted really good, actually, although I'm used to having it with salmon or crab.

Tastes best fresh, especially if you make it yourself. Also, they can be enjoyed
with just about anything you stick inside them, poultry, beef or seafood. However, as
it is a prepared snack meant to last some time, I don't make them when I want
something right away. Usually I'll just go for the rice and eat it with some
chicken curry or something :q I don't have much time to be fancy when I eat, but
it'd be fun to make one once in a while.

I have eaten them quite a few times already; bought them from the Japanese food chain Yoshinoya. I have only tasted the tuna flavoured ones though. Quite good compliments to a good Japanese meal.

Pretty much... except you don't have to have fish, that's just the traditional meat used.
I only say that because I'm not too fond of seafood myself.

Ate them all the time while I was in Japan, though I haven't had the time or the short grain rice to do so since coming back (I can't believe I can't find a single 10kg bag of short grain rice in this country, only long grain. Even in Chinatown.).

I so wanna go in a Japanese Restaurant and order them, and then go...

"These donuts/sandwhiches/lemon pastires are G-G-G-G-Great!"

Sadly, I have yet to find a restaurant which has them....

I've had onigiri in the 7th grade. I had a Japanese friend in my class and her mom made her onigiri for our school trip, and she didn't feel like eating all the onigiri (her mom made her six balls, IIRC) so she gave me one. It had tuna in it. It was delicious. I wish I could eat onigiri again.

I like making onigiri-- it's fun! I like to put sesame seeds in it. Mmmm.
