So why hasn't Brendan appeared?

Couldn't they have put him in episodes that featured Prof. Birch, who is supposed to be his dad in the anime?

For that matter, Silver and Wally don't appear either, although Silver makes a cameo in the Legend of Thunder Japanese opening.

He appeared in a Korean trailer for the 9th movie. But I haven't heard anything about him being in the final movie since then.

Because Ash is supposed to handle all the protagonist duties for the anime. The writers of the anime really seem to hate using game characters like Silver, Wally, etc. The only ones really featured are Gym Leaders and some very rare ones like the Trick Master and Duplica.

If I'm not mistaken, that was because Brendan appears in the avant segment of M9, as in M6.

Yeah, Zhen Lin is referring to the "introduction to Pokemon" segment.

And actually, that was also in the dub version of movie 6.

In Jirachi: Wish Maker, during the World of Pokemon segment, Brenden was shown having a double battle against two trainers.

Unless if they're female. They don't seem to have any trouble introducing characters like May or Hikari. But for some reason, it seems like only Ash can get the role of lead male. The only exception is Jimmy, but it still pales in comparison to what May got and what Hikari will get. Ash aside, it doesn't seem they like male trainers that much.

Then they are most likely to ignore Ocelot as well...

It's a pity. I just wish the male trainers from the games at least make a short cameo in the main series (like an Ash's rival at the Pokémon League).
