Soaring vs Fly

Which do you prefer to do? soaring or fly?

I would be more refeing to get to your destination rather than just soar at random or whatever. So if you're wanting to get the the Day Care or the Maison or something.

As cool as Soaring is, I just prefer the speed of Fly and use it over Soaring. Maybe if Soaring had the option to isntantly fly there ;o
 
As someone who has had dreams where I was flying on a Pokemon throughout the various regions, yeah, soaring is literally a dream come true in video game form.
 
Fly. While I do enjoy soaring, I rather waste a slot to get there faster.
 
I'm a greedy man so I'm going with both. Both have their benefits, Soaring being amazing visually but as of ORAS we can actually Fly to specific points of Routes/landmarks AND be able to access Flying from our Maps. How long have we waited for THAT?!

In short, Soaring if I'm in for a leisurely cruise and quick point Map Flight to my destination that I want to get to quickly. Fly.
 
Fly is quicker, but it takes up a slot on a Pokemon's move set and may warrant an HM Slave. Soar doesn't require either, and can even work if you don't have an Eon Pokemon anymore. Also you get to soar over the actual region whenever you want and get to areas you couldn't with Fly.

I definitely like soaring more.
 
I agree that flying is faster, but soaring does not require an HM slot or a certain bird pokemon just for Fly. I just soar habitually nowadays because it's a feature included just for ORAS - better make the most out of it.
 
I prefer to soar, but that doesn't mean I don't like the way that Fly has been implemented this time around.

Soaring helps me express how much I love the region as I can soar over every known destination in Hoenn. Hoenn is my favorite due to its beauty and many differing locations, like mountains, the vast sea, a desert, and much more. It even gets better a night when all of the lights are turned on and one can see the stars. The music is also another reason I love to soar, especially the night time theme since it feels peaceful, adding to the already peaceful nature of soaring (I might be using the wrong adjective here but I hope you get what I mean). Sometimes I go for a quick soar just for fun sometimes. I've always wished I could fly alongside the birds, and with Soaring, now I can.

Flying on the other hand is still useful despite my interest in the aesthetics of soaring. If I'm in a rush I use Fly; out of habit, I almost always have a flier on my team anyway. AreaNav uses Fly to get me to Secret Bases, Berry Trees, and Trainer Rematches so I click on the buttons and use Fly here as well, especially since everything here is in a neat order so I don't have to worry about which ones I visited already.
 
I can understand and respect the immersion soaring provides. However, simply just using the HM is more convenient for me, and I like that.
 
Soaring

Cause most of the time I have no Fly pokemon on my party..

And I can get to areas I can't with only Fly.

And I like DexNav hunting on Mirage islands..
 
screw carrying around a pokemon with fly -- latias in my main girl for getting around. Am developing a sort of respect for her, I suppose.
 
I always soar. I almost never fly anymore. It's so awesome. I still have a flier on my team, but eh. XD
 
I used Fly maybe twice this game. If you add the fact that you can easily register the Eon Flute, Fly isn't even all that quicker. And besides: those songs are beautiful to listen to.
 
Flying is my preference simply for speed. I'd rather use a party spot on a flyer (which I normally have anyway) than watch that annoying megalution animation and manually guide myself to the location I want to get to any time. The only time I soar is to catch legends.
 
Flying. Soaring takes longer, has an annoying cutscene and I dislike the music (probably because I've heard it way too much in the demo). I don't really care about looking at Hoenn from above, I just want to be at my destination as fast as possible. I only use soaring when I have to, so for finding legendaries and mirage spots.
 
Fly over soar, because its more classic and soaring takes too long IMO
 
While soaring is an amazing feature, Fly is more useful since it's faster. Plus, while Fly maybe an HM, a 90-base power physical Flying-type attack is not bad.
 
I tried Soaring once it didn't really caught my attention, takes too long. I may give it another chance.

I'm more use to using Fly.
 
Soaring was very underwhelming. They do the intro animation every single time, even pressing the B-button repeatedly only makes you go so fast, and the region looks so small and un-detailed. I mean, it looks detailed because you can make everything important out, but I wanted more detail. To zoom in so far you could soar two inches above the ground, or hover just high enough that you can see the route in the same angle as if you were walking.

And the endless sea/sky border bored me. We know Poké-Japan (Kanto, Johto, Hoenn and Sinnoh) are all near each other. Why not have Johto's mountain range in the far-off distance? The Tower of Mastery? Something. Anything.
