I don't often complain about the site features and stuff, but a few things about the Social Groups area of the forum are kinda bugging me.
The first thing is the 1000-character post limit... these group threads ARE expected to take the place of the threads in the Clubs forum, right? I can see there's already lots of heck going on in the discussion over there (and I'm not even a member of any clubs), but imposing a limit on post length in the Social Groups can be considered a functionality limit, and so gives people even more reason to not want to use them. Can this limit be removed, or can we at least loosen it a bit? Not letting somebody post just because they have a lot to say it just... yeah.
My second problem is the lack of attention that new posts get. To be honest I also had this same problem with the old SG system, but it wouldn't it be far more convenient for group members if there was a place on the page where they could just see, at a glance, all the recent activity of only the groups that they belong to? This way it would be easier to keep up with active discussions with minimal scrolling required, plus any activity of other groups would not flood over activity in the groups the user cares about.
Those are the only problems (that I can think of) I have with the system right now. Thanks for your attention, and I'm looking forward to any improvements.
