Ok. Soda, Coke, Cola, Pop.

Every time I travel across the country I always hear something different. Yes, it's a regional thing, but I want to see which is most predominant. It doesn't matter if you drink the stuff or not. Vote which carbonated beverage term you use the most to settle this debate once and for all!

I personally use tingly sugar water, but soda works too. :p

I was wondering the same thing. Whenever I talk, I say "pop", but when I write I use "soda", I don't know why. I only say "coke" when it's actually a Coca-Cola that I'm talking about.

Soda and Pop are regional terms.

Cola is a particular flavor of soda pop. Coke is a brand name.

I use coke, when I drink it, which I rarely do. I use soft drink or fizzy drink for soda. But I'm Australian, so thats normal.

I prefer Coke than most other Sodas,i sometimes RARELY drink Pepsi, but i don't know the difference between coke and pepsi.
(can anyone tell me the difference between Coke and Pepsi?

I'm with the Australian, its fizzy, soft drink but Coke is fine too but no soda please. And rtds with coke and the like are always called lollywater which, I for one can not stand.

I mainly use Pop, but I know a few other people (My co-leader in girl scouts to name one) who use soda.

I always say "soda". I actually didn't know until a few years ago that anyone calls that stuff "pop".

I say soda. I use cola or coke when talking about Coca-Cola or other cola-like beverages such as Pepsi or Generic Brand Cola.

I say soda, but my family says cola when referring to Coca-Cola or Pepsi or any carbonated water drink like that.

Soda. :p

It always sounds weird whenever I hear 'Pop' being used as a soda name, but that's just me.

People around here usually use "Coke" when referring to most soft drinks. Or they, you know, call 'em soft drinks. I oftentimes use soda myself.

For me, Coca Cola is Coke (which kicks Pepsi's ass), Pepsi is Pepsi, Sprite is Sprite, etc. I call everything by it's real name I guess.

But when I'm referring to these drinks in general, for example "I don't know which kind of X I'm going to get", I use soda. Used to say pop when I was younger but I guess I changed. I use soft drink about 15% of the time for some reason, but I never use Cola.
