Hi guys,

There have been many changes to the forums in recent months. Notably here in Anime, we introduced Professor Orchid's Live Caster alongside the vB4 upgrade to expand the forum and offer a greater variety of threads for our users to participate in. The sub-forum has been incredibly successful and we all owe you a big thank you for making it so.

With the popularity of the sub-forum, it has been decided to split it into two different sub-forums. The Grand Festival shall be the home of anime-related Contest threads as well as Fun and Games threads while The Pokémon League shall be for Debate threads. We hope that this split will make it easier for everyone to post in the different types of threads and to find them quicker. The Grand Festival will not require threads to have moderator approval, though the Pokémon League will. All threads from Live Caster that were popular but did not fit into either Debate, Contest or Fun and Games categories shall be moved to the main Anime forum, apart from the following exceptions:

- Both the Anime Staff thread: BW Edtion and Ratings thread are going to be locked. Users may now post this information in Preview and Reviews threads. We here on the staff will also update the first posts of these threads with this information as well as summaries and scans.

We've also taken a look at the rules here in Anime and re-worded them so that they are simpler and easier to understand. The Anime Rules and Guidelines thread now has two posts, so that rules and guidelines are clearly separated. The Archive rules, guidelines and indexes also has separate posts on the rules and guidelines, as well as the episode listings so that everything is in one place.

Finally, we've decided to lock the http://bmgf.bulbagarden.net/f228/anime-simple-questions-simple-answers-109740/ thread. Users may now post a new thread for a question, which will be locked by one of us when it is answered.

Questions, concerns and comments about the changes may be posted in this thread.

What was the reasoning behind the dissolution of the simple questions/simple answers thread? I know at least for myself there are cases where I may have a question of that sort that I would not feel need a thread made for them, even if the thread will be locked relatively quickly. I felt that having the simple questions thread gave a bit more, like, freedom in asking things you may not have felt comfortable posting were that thread not in existence.

It's a forum-wide thing, first of all, and people were posting threads with SQ anyway. It's a lot easier to keep track of asked/answered questions by simply locking the thread and moving on.

So I don't understand why the Anime staff thread was locked. Now the staff info is scattered all around the place instead. There's simply no good overview of it anymore and that isn't particularly handy. It also feels a bit out of place to discuss writers/animation directors etc. generally in episode threads. Better to have a thread dedicated to that kind of discussion just like we had. How about you mods reconsider this move and sticky + reopen the thread in question?

We locked it mainly because its information about an episode. Having all information about an episode in one place means that users do not have to look in multiple places. That was inconvenient. As I said earlier, we're putting information about episodes in the OP, so that it is easy to find.

If you think an episode is ruined or brilliant due to the animator, well then, that's about the episode. Don't like how a writer constructed an episode? It's about the episode. These things don't need a separate thread.

If after a period of time we feel that it's becoming cluttered, we'll reconsider. We're certainly not reconsidering after a mere week of the changes coming into effect.

Please note: The thread is from 14 years ago.
Please take the age of this thread into consideration in writing your reply. Depending on what exactly you wanted to say, you may want to consider if it would be better to post a new thread instead.
