This is something that I have noticed recently since a common area to find them is always caves and other rough places.

For some reason I feel like this thread will be closed. I don't know why it should or what I could have done wrong.

Well give some examples so we know what you're talking about and I'm sure the thread won't get locked. =D

Yes, because being found in caves make them cave men despite not sharing any other features. Of course.

I don't know really. Just like they are humanoids with less intelligence that humans who live in mostly caves and mountains. Tough this mostly applies to the natural born Fighting-types.

EDIT:Let' make a list:
Mankey line - Rock Tunnel, near Mt. Mortar, near Mt. Stark, Victory Road, Cerulean Cave
Machop line - Rock Tunnel, Victory Road, Mt. Mortar, near Mt. Chimney, Mt. Ember, Mt. Coronet, Cliff Cave, Silver Cave, Cerulean Cave
Makuhita line - Granite Cave, Victory Road, near Mt. Stark, any cave in HGSS

And it seems that it only applies to these three lines. I believe all others are obviously not cavemen-esque.

They would train in Dojos and inside buildings... If they knew how to build things.

Unfortunately, they don't. Therefore they use caves as training grounds. Rocks are easy things to practice their attacks on.

I somewhat kinda see where you are going with this. Them being 'primitive' humanoids (in form only), more or less. As mentioned above they would probably go in caves to train, probably in body and mind. The calming effect of the occasional dripping of water, the darkness allowing the rest of their senses other than eyesight to take hold, as well as if they used attacks on rocks they don't have to pick a fight with other pokemon, or ruin a bunch of trees.

This. Exactly what I was thinking.
I think they're commonly found around mountains and caves because that's what they use to muscle-train. Doubt it has anything to do with any of them being based on cave men. Though I suppose one kind could be. But I doubt it.

The only connection you have is that they lived in caves. Most Fighting types are based one a physical activity/stort (Medicham Yoga, Hitmonchan Boxing, Machamp wrestling, Hitmonlee Kickboxing, etc)
