I didnt want to bog down multiple threads with multiple posts. So i am starting a new thread with all of my ideas in here. This took roughly 3 days to compile and get all the necessary information for.
First off, the Eeveelutions.
In Generation 1, we were introduced to not only the Eevee Family, but also to Evolutionary Stones. Why were they abandoned for the Eeveelutions from Generation 2 onward? In generation 2, they even introduced the Sun Stone. The required conditions to evolve Eevee to Espeon or Umbreon require friendliness, to reach a level, during a certain period of time. Why go through all of that? They had a Moon Stone in Gen 1. They added the Sun Stone in Gen 2. They easily could have had Espeon evolve with the Sun Stone and Umbreon evolve with the Moon Stone. But no. Then in Gen 4 we are introduced to Leafeon and Glaceon. There was a Leaf Stone, yet to get a Leafeon you have to be in a forest. Why? When we’ve had a Leaf Stone since Generation 1. So What I suggest is simple. Generation 5 Eeveelutions are completely revamped.
•Vaporeon – Use Water Stone on Eevee
•Jolteon – Use Thunderstone on Eevee
•Flareon – Use Fire Stone on Eevee
•Espeon – Use Sun Stone on Eevee
•Umbreon – Use Moon Stone on Eevee
•Leafeon – Use Leaf Stone on Eevee
•Glaceon – Use Cold Stone on Eevee
Before continuing, a definition of the Cold Stone: “A peculiar stone that makes certain species of Pokémon evolve. It is cool to the touch.” Essentially, it is a Stone that formed around a portion of ice buried within a glacier. As such, it is always cold and can evolve Eevee into Glaceon. It could also evolve Lapras into another Pokémon, discussed later.
Then, we have the next Eeveelution. A Dragon Type, so the proper thing to do is to fill out all information for said Pokémon:
Eevee - Using Dragon Stone (pathetic name, I know) -> Drakeon
Health - 65
Attack - 130
Defense - 60
Special Attack - 110
Special Defense - 65
Speed - 95
Stamina* - 65
*Stamina will be discussed later in the post.
First off, a simple explanation of the Dragon Stone: “A peculiar stone that makes certain species of Pokémon evolve. It is only found in dwellings of Dragons.” This could be expanded a bit upon the main definition, but only just. Simply put, some wild Dragon Pokémon could be holding this item (Dratini). And/or, it could be a random item that is found in only very specific locations (areas where dragon Pokémon can be found). As such, it would make evolving Eevee into a Drakeon quite difficult and time consuming, but not so difficult that it’s nearly impossible.
The Physiology of Drakeon resembles Crocodiles, Alligators, the Komodo Dragon, and Mythological Dragons. It has a long Jaw-line when compared to other evolutions of Eevee, similar to that of Dragonair. It also stands taller than all other Eeveelutions, at 3’06” tall. It also weighs more than all Eeveelutions as well, 65 lbs. Drakeon is Quadrupedal, with the ability to be Semi-Bipedal, as it is occasionally, yet temporarily, found walking on just its hind legs for some distances. Drakeon has a somewhat stocky, reptilian body covered with small scales. It has powerful hind legs, contrasted by its front legs, which are slender but slightly shorter. Its neck does not have a frill like some Eeveelutions, and is longer than all others. Its tail is long and powerful, capable of being used as a whip or binding device, also making it a very decent swimmer. Two rows of spines flow from the crest of its head down its back to the tip of the tail. The tail is tipped with a spike that secret a poison only when threatened. Unlike all other Eeveelutions, Drakeon has small, fin shaped ears that sit close to the head. It has large eyes like all Eeveelutions, with the only difference being their color; a very distinct green coloring to them. The Skin is colored in a similar shade of green to the eyes, and gets darker towards the tip of the snout. The legs and back spines are completely this dark green color. Its belly has a gentle cream color to it. It sports a small spike on the top of its head as well, which is not capable of poisoning opponents.
Being a Dragon pokemon, Drakeon has several abilities that make it unique amongst the Eeveelutions. Drakeon can either have the Shed Skin ability, or the Inner Focus ability. Being able to have multiple abilities is unique to all Eeveelutions, excluding Eevee itself.
Drakeon, like all Espeon, is very loyal to their trainers and will protect them from harm, at the risk of taking great damage themselves. They enjoy laying out in the sun. Like Leafeon, they are very pacifistic, trying to avoid conflict under normal circumstances. And like Jolteon, they are sensitive to the moods of their trainers, and as such their mood can change suddenly. When their trainer is sad or threatened, Drakeon will become angry and protective.
Drakeon are very rare in the wild, to the point where they are considered to be sheer myth. When they are discovered, they are under the care of a trainer, where they are more likely to evolve into Drakeon as the pre-existing conditions are more readily able to exist. When discovered in the wild, they can be found near beaches in regions where Dragon pokemon are more predominant.
By Level-Up, Drakeon can learn the following moves.
Level Move
Start Tackle
Start Tail Whip
Start Helping Hand
8 Sand-Attack
15 Poison Sting
22 Quick Attack
29 Twister
36 DragonBreath
43 Dragon Claw
50 Last Resort
57 Dragon Dance
64 Dragon Rush
71 Outrage
78 Hyper Beam
Now for some other Pokémon. These are branched evolutions of the Generation 1 Trade Pokémon.
Haunter (Holding Reaper Cloth) -> Fantome (Ghost/Dark or just Ghost). Name derived as a misspelling of Phantom
Graveler (Holding Metal Coat) -> Gorguyel (Steel/Ground). Name is both a misspelling and play on the word "Gargoyle"
Machoke (Holding Protector) -> Machules (Fighting/Steel). Name derived from Macho and Hercules.) Other possible names could be Machajax (Macho and Ajax), Macharta (Macho and Sparta), Machonidas (Macho and Leonidas) and lastly, Machilles (Macho and Achilles)
Kadabra (Holding Ancient Spellbook) -> Shazam (Psychic). Instead of holding two spoons, he will be wielding 1 item, depending upon 7 different values; either the stat with the highest EV total (a new stat would be added to account for the 7th stat), a randomly generated number, or would just be an item that affects the stats of Shazam (i.e. 10% boost for all non-psychic Pokémon, 15% for all psychic, 20% for Shazam). In the case of the 7th stat, I am still working on that.
The Ancient Spellbook would be a new item specifically for the evolution of Shazam. However, when held by another psychic Pokémon, it would raise the Special Attack stat by 20% (this includes Kadabra). After trading a Kadabra holding the Spellbook, it evolves into Shazam, and the Spellbook vanishes. The seven items that can be used by Shazam are based off of the Millennium items from Yu-gi-oh. Each item, when held, would be visible in the sprite, and would only affect Shazam
•HP: Ancient Scale (raises HP by 50)
•ATK: Ancient Puzzle (raises ATK by 25)
•DEF: Ancient Necklace (Raises DEF by 25)
•S.ATK: Ancient Lens (Raises SP ATK by 25)
•S.DEF: Ancient Staff (Raises SP Def by 25)
•SPD: Ancient Ring (Raises speed by 25)
•7th Stat: Ancient Key (Raises this stat by 25)
The seventh stat listed could be a split from another stat. Possibly a variation of Health, as Stamina. Besides status effects, it would make the Pokémon resistant to any stat reduction. When a stat change is applied, a secondary bar (possibly in yellow directly above health) would show how much stamina this Pokémon has left before the stat changes begin to take effect. It goes down proportionately with Health (half of all damage taken effects stamina, but Potions and the like do not effect Stamina.) In addition, Stamina is further reduced by Stat changing attacks. The formula would be simple. It is reduced by the stat attack level (1, 2, or 3) added to the attacking Pokémon’s level. Example: a level 5 Pokémon that deals an attack which would reduce a stat by 2, reduces Stamina by 7. A level 56 Pokémon that deals a 3 stat change would affect stamina by 59. The total level of stamina is measured similarly to HP. In addition, the stats are reduced further by the level of the attacking Pokémon’s stat of the same type. Taking the 59 from earlier, the attacking Pokémon has an ATK stat of 145. 59+145=204 (I think). This would deal 204 “damage” to the attacked Pokémon’s stamina. However, this number is reduced by the defending Pokémon’s same stat. In this case, his ATK stat is 162. 204-162=42 (I think). Therefore, the total damage done to the Pokémon’s stamina would be 42. Stamina, however, would also be reduced by attacks that reduce both evasiveness and accuracy. Since these are In Battle stats only, they would be measured without the effects of adding or reducing the actual base stat. IE: level 53 deals a 2 reduction to accuracy. 55 Stamina would be reduced. Since this stat is directly correlated with, and derived from, the Health stat; the base stats for all Pokémon will be the same, and will only be effected by the Effort Values of that Pokémon. Stamina could also affect the power of attacks as well. When Stamina reaches 0 (before HP reaches zero, probably around the same time HP reaches 50%), every additional turn past this point, every stat (besides HP) is reduced by a set value, based upon HP. When HP is in yellow, every turn after Stamina reaches 0, every stat besides HP is reduced by 2. When HP reaches red, it is reduced by 5 every additional turn. Outside of Battle, Stamina can not be restored with items such as potions. However, every step taken in the game would go towards restoring Stamina. This way, if a trainer is traveling from City A, to City B. and challenging all the trainers in between, His Pokémon might be healthy enough to battle thanks to potions, but they would have too low of a stamina rating, and would not be able to battle at full strength. Temporarily forcing the trainers to use their other Pokémon, and would make them plan their teams a bit more wisely.
This is what I have ideas for at the moment. What do you think?
EDIT: after a quick re-read, i noticed that i didn't mention the Lapras Evolution. I will not divulge into this until later, as it is already past 0430 here.
