I just wanted to know what exactly pokèmon eat?
I mean I know that they have berries and Miltank milk, but what about the carnivorous Pokèmon (i.e - Ursaring, Gyrados). In "Ash catches a Pokèmon, they show Pidgeotto going after Caterpie as if he was going to grab it and then devour it. If anyone has any insight please inform me.
I personally believe that some eat each other..

They're probably like any other animal in our world. Some Pokemon would hunt other Pokemon and some don't. They need to have a circle of life too, ya know!

Yeah, I think Pokemon might eat other Pokemon in one way or another

Sneasel and Ekans' Dex entry say that they both enjoy eating the eggs of other pokémon, particularly Pidgey.

Not to mention, Pidgeotto has been known to eat Magikarp, and humans have been known to eat Krabby, Exeggcute, and Farfetch'd.

Farfetch'd, yes, Krabby... I don't remember. ^^; Where?

In "Mystery at the Lighthouse," Ash was terrified that Prof. Oak was eating his Krabby. Then Prof. Oak said that Gary's Krabby (which was, like, 5x the size of Ash's) would have made a better meal anyway.

Ye gods, is that how Ash thought of Prof. Oak? Eating people's Pokémon right after they were sent to him? o_O

I imagine carnivorous pokemon eat other pokemon, the anime just doesn't highlight that fact.

On the pokedex entry for gorebyss, it says that gorebyss uses its nose to suck the innards out of its prey. o.0

I was watching some old videos the other day, and Pidgeotto was eating a worm when Ash saw him.

The mention of eating Pokemon is another one of those first-season things that only occurred as the writers and everyone were still getting used to things and deciding what would and wouldn't happen in this universe. Because it hasn't been mentioned since, and because even supposedly carnivorous Pokemon like Aerodactyl have been shown in the anime to eat fruit and berries, it would be reasonable to assume that all Pokemon are herbivorous in the anime. In the world of the games, it's a different story, if Pokedex entries are to be believed. Keep in mind, there are a lot of weird Pokedex entries that, in the Pokemon world, are probably based more on legend than truth, so the validity of some other entries are probably called into question as well.

Same with Kabutops. I also think that Lileep and Cradily catch prey, it says so in the pokedex

Glalie's Sapphire Dex Entry:

Sapphire: GLALIE has the ability to freely control ice. For example, it can instantly freeze its foe solid. After immobilizing its foe in ice, this POKEMON enjoys eating it in leisurely fashion.

Metagross's Sapphire Dex Entry:

Sapphire: METAGROSS is the result of two METANG achieving fusion. When hunting, this POKEMON pins the prey to the ground under its massive body. It then eats the helpless victim using the large mouth on its stomach.

So you see, carniverous Pokemon eat other Pokemon, it just doesn't usually mention it. Metagross and Glalie have the freakiest Dex entries I ever saw.

I don't think that *all* pokemon are herbivores. How is a Gyarados supposed to get fruits and berries in the middle of the ocean?

Wouldn't it be safer to assume that in the wild, certain pokemon are in fact carnivores, yet in captivity all pokemon get what they need from the Pokemon Food we see fed to them all the time?

It's the same way with real world dogs. Wild or stray dogs survive by hunting and eating smaller animals like rabbits. Pet dogs eat kibble.

If Pidgey eat Worms or Catipie... then why are they Heavier that it?

....I... didn't notice that....

Well, a lone wolf could eat a moose or bison larger than it is. There'll just be remainders, that's all. And not all caterpie are that weight, niether are all pidgey all four lbs. I suspect that's the average weight, and adult pidgey would more than likely prey on younger caterpie.

I read Swellow eats Wurmple, Aron eats metal(so lairon and aggron do 2), and ponytas and tauros eat grass
