Ok I was looking through this thread and I had to say about 98% of it does not make sense for ships in the anime, I mean there is no way that Ash would get together with Brock, Misty or Dawn perhaps (May just doesn't cut it) and there are some Pokemon ones that I believed might have happened like Bulbasaur and May's Bulbasaur (at least before the whole evolution thing) and Charizard and Charla. Although I don't get why on earth there is even a shipping for Ash's Bulbasaur and Squirtle. Sure they get on well together but sheesh thats as far as it goes.

On a side note on the above I believe that Bulbapedia has made some very serious laps in judgement regarding Pokemon genders in the anime. Almost all of Ash's Pokemon (inclding Charizard and Bulbasaur who have been in love WITH Pokemon that have been proven to be female) have still got their genders unconfirmed. I think that some of his Hoenn Pokemon and Sinnoh Pokemon have got theirs confirmed but what about Bulbasaur and Charizard, surely they are not lesbiens or Gay.

I think that Bulbapedia needs to get some help on this one with regards to gender picking, I mean do we have to draw them a map.

Most people don't ship characters for the sake of it happening in the anime, they just do it for fun.

97% of the ships in the fandom will never happen in the anime, most of them are between characters who have not even met, so it doesn't matter.

Regardless of what you believe, without official confirmation (or in Happiny's case, can be only but), the pokémon articles remain unconfirmed. I've said this before: "Common sense" is not encyclopedic. Cold hard facts are. Charizard can be macho-male all it wants; unless someone call it a "he", you're out of luck on the articles getting a confirmed gender.

Closing, dude. I'm sure as much as people will either argue or agree with you on the 'shipping bit, I smell flame bait.

I feel I should point out that Magical Pokemon Journey has a confirmed male Squirtle in love with a male human, but that may make the OP's head expl--oh wait.
