Hey Guys,
Yesterday my older brother purchased a copy of Pokémon SoulSilver from HMV, and later discovered that there is a problem where the game will not recognise game saves from a point after where the game had communicated with a PokéWalker. He has phoned Nintendo Customer Services, who recommended he gets a replacement from HMV and to check that that copy is also affected. I was just wondering, as I know the Belguim copies of the game were delayed due to a problem with saving, if any other EU people have had problems with saving?

As they said, it stopped saving after Pokewalker communication.

Hence the Pokewalker is causing the problem.

Okay, got it. Sorry. I must have missed that. This sounded like the dutch issues so I assumed it to be that. Yeah.

*cough*

Ok that is kind of weird and if this turns out to be a EUwide problem.. it will be a BIG BIG problem for Nintendo

Well, I can't help you there kid, the best advice is to read the guide and phone Gamefreak.

Yeah it would be. My Heart Gold is fine when doing that and its a UK version (does UK count as an EU version?). May be a SS problem, but we would need more people to say if their EU versions worked or not. Could a HG pokewalker communicate with a SS game and vice versa? JUst wondering

The UK version is essentially the US version. That is because it is shipped from the US, completely unchanged. So therefore, the UK version is not an EU version.

Well if thats true, how come it can't recieve US wifi events? Or can it? And the HG cart I have says EUR on it and I got it on Amazon UK.

Yeah, that statement is partially true and partially not. While there are minimal changes between the US and EUR releases, they do exist. The game's chip code is different (USA vs. EUR), the EUR version does not have the ESRB notice, the EUR version's game case does not say "NOT FOR RESALE" unlike the US version's does (it has this barcode with less numbers than normally instead), etc.

As for the main question, that sounds very odd. My little brother's European HG works fine with the Pokéwalker being in use, at least.

I've had no problems with my UK SS. Sounds like either an undetected flaw in the chip (didn't get programmed properly or something like that) or a bad batch (do DS games have "batch numbers"?). Let's hope it's a one-off...

Hm...that's odd...are you saying that
a. your game crashed or
b. the Pokemon you deposited is still in your PC Box and the Waker?

I have UK copy of Soul Silver and its working fine; pokewalker seems to be fine too as I've transfered my Pokemon back and forth a few times without issue and still able to save

But possibly the UK batch is mostly fine? Honestly hope the problems are in the minority more than the majority
