So I put Pearl in today and it played normally until I checked my party. I thought my Marowak sounded a lot quieter than it should, compared to everyone else.

...and then I got into a battle, and my pokemon were dead silent. The music was playing, the other pokemon was making noise, but my pokemon--none of them had any noise coming out of them. And while their attacks would make noise, when they themselves were hit, that wouldn't yield any sound.

I can hear everything when I put headphones in, but normal audio is still what I described. Also, this is only during battle--I can view the party menu and hear everyone quite well...except for the Marowak, which is still very quiet.

The only things I've done differently are changing the battery and getting a possibly hacked Ho-Oh off the GTS. The problem is that I played for a little bit after both of those and before noticing this issue, and the sound was normal.

To be safe, I put the Ho-Oh back on the GTS, but the sound remains. The reason I say it's "possibly hacked" is because it's level 100 and came with Pokerus (cured), and I had put up a level 51 Heatran, so it seems unlikely, albiet possible (especially with cloning).

So what's going on?

Oh yes...another thing I did differently was that I actually took Pearl *out* yesterday so I could play Chrono Trigger. I haven't taken Pearl out for a while since it's the only DS game I really play.

Maybe your Game is messing up. My pearl game every once in a while will go to a blue screen when i try to turn it on and say "Data can not be read please turn off the DS system and take out game and put it back in." When i put it back in it goes to the screen again. It hasn't happened lately though.

It's since become apparent that it was a problem with my DS. Or rather "is" considering that now the damn thing won't even turn on, after a brief spate of no sound on anything whatsoever unless I used the headphones.

I'm sending it in to be fixed. This can be locked/moved/whatever now.
