Space?

Space. You know, the three dimensions that the entire universe occupies.

In SSBB, Palkia demonstrates abilities such as flipping/rotating the stage in various ways and lessening gravity. This implies that, not only can it transform space, it can affect universal constants such as the strength of the gravitational force.

Which is based on space, operating under the modern physical understand of gravity. So basically, Palkia and Dialga should be capable of destroying anything ever, and Dialga can un-destroy anything. But instead they just have high stats and big movepools. *shrug*

Right. Sorry, forgot Brian Greene's explanation of General Relativity there for a second

Well.... Palkia controls space, yes, but that's not the only thing it could do. Since it can control space, it can wrap to another section of space. So it could be in two places at once.

And we don't really know enough of Palkia's powers to say that it could be in two places at once, unless you mean something like Substitute.
Actually... Is there a thread debating the nature of Palkia's and Dialga's powers?
I would make one if there isn't if I wasn't so scared of making threads that are good ideas and... Well, it's a long story.
Heh.

It's interesting to know whether it has total control... or Palkia's powers are limited...

Damn, somebody should really make a thread to talk more deeply about this with both Pokemon.

I don't think that it has unlimited power, I think that it's subject to some somewhat arbitrary rules.
Well... When you're thinking nearly god-like entities, almost all rules imposed on them are technically arbitrary and unreasoned.

But it's an interesting thought whether Palkia could create another Palkia with his power over time, and whether Dialga could travel through time and have two of them exist at the same time.
If you believe that they're that powerful, than you have to theorize that they probably transcend time and space.
I mean, for Palkia, could God create another God? It's a little like the whole "Could God create a blah blah blah so blah that even he couldn't blah it?"
And for Dialga, if you have a power like that, then do you exist on a plane separate from normal time?
If you're familiar at all with the Time Bastard theories about Chrono Trigger/Chross than you'll probably get my point a lot easier.

Well, in movie 4 there were numerous Celebi who were actually the same Celebi from different timelines...from the past, present, future, 4 min ahead, 3 mins before and so on...

Considering that Palkia, Dialga and Giratina's divine powers are merely a myth, it can be argued that they are indeed just incredibly strong Pokémon that have become synonymous with Space, Time and whateverthehellGiratinadoes due to religious beliefs. Just like the myths of the various ancient religions, wherein certain animals are equated with certain forces, powers, actions and feelings, these three Pokémon have been deified has Gods.

Ya, but Celebi is a different case.
Celebi travels time, Dialga "controls" it.

Ya, but that doesn't really stimulate discussion, lol.
Also, I think that the... Was it the 10th and 11th movies? Darkrai and Giratina ones...
Anyways, those ones show that they do pretty much control over the universe to at least some degree. Though I found it odd that in Giratina's movie, Dialga was conveniently hanging out in the present day. Assuming that it could be in any time it ever wanted, it's surprising that it choose then/now.

Just because Dialga also has the powers Celebi has doesn't make them the same.

Just because 15233 has 33 in it doesn't make it the same as 33.

Dialga's powers would far exceed Celebi's, he would be subject to completely different rules.

But since Dialga is stronger and both have time powers that means Dialga is able to do everything Celebi can in terms of "time"...

Lol, I was once on a forum where celebrating your post count got the administrators to reset your post count.

Again, just because that Dialga can do everything Celebi can do, that doesn't make them subject to the same rules.

Palkia can't just destroy anything by willing it because of what Cyrus said-- Using a Poke Ball to catch it weakens its abilities. That's what the Red Chain was for.

Okay....

But still, I'm just thinking about his power in general, not necessarily after he's been captured.

Well, let's just assume that it probably is possible two/the same Dialga to exist at the same time at the same place...

P.S. That's the first time I hear about a rule like that... I use bouncies for every hundredth post in every forum I've evr been...it's kinda like a good luck ritual...and I've never had problems because of it.

I don't think so.
Personally, I believe in the Time Bastard Theory (Chrono Trigger) where once somebody has time travelled they will replace any version of them in the time that they currently are in.
Though in Chrono Trigger your time travel was very much fueled by the fact that the planet was a conscious entity that was allowing you to go on a journey so that you could...
Still though, I think that he exists partially in a different dimension, and can travel at will through our dimension.

Think of it like a pond. Look into the pond. Under the water is our universe. The pond's surface is the plane of time. You can did your finger into any point you want. I think that's what his powers are like.
He exists mainly in the area beyond time, but has control over the water's surface. He can dip himself into any point in the pool, pull himself back out and dip himself into the pond somewhere else.

I think it was mainly because people were competing to get higher post counts, celebrating too much, and generally taking it too seriously.
