Specific sprites for certain NPCs and names for certain ones.

Possibly duplicate thread is possible. But I think that one was weeks ago and long dead.

At least over-sprites being specific.

I'd love to see the nurses get some sort of new sprite, maybe even individual ones. Maybe even names. They aren't Nurse Joy after all.

How about certain NPCs that aren't important getting specific overworld sprites? You know like Cal or Irwin type NPCs. The "special" non-important ones.

Battle sprites matching their overworld one? It's odd seeing a blond haired overworld sprite but a black haired battle sprite.

Also, what about names for grunts and nurses? We shouldn't be sympathetic of evil dooers and the nurses are nurses but..Why not know their name?
 
Sounds like too much work. What's the point of giving an NPC a name/unique sprite when he/she has no relevence to the plot and is certainly going to be forgotten by the player after he/she has made his/her blurb.

Besides, if they did do that, people will create all sorts of fan theories and rumors about every NPC being important to the plot. Players are conditioned to think that unique look or name means importance.
 
YESSS, give joey a specific sprite and everything.

I really need to get the feeling that his Rattata is truly THE BEST.

but really, while I don't think specific sprites are necessary, I think they should all have motion to them... even the Youngsters.
 
I like the idea of individualized nurses—make them fit the theme of whatever city they live in. So Ecruteak wears a kimono, Slateport wears a sailor outfit, Solaceon wears a cowboy hat, etc.

Hell, they don't even need to be unique, just reuse other sprites.
 
lol, she's a nurse, I would assume she would have a nurse's uniform.

It would be interesting having like night-shift pissy Nurses in the late hours though, similar to Animal Crossing. lol.
 
Animated battle sprites for all the trainers would be kinda cool. D: Maybe even see them toss out their own Pokeball!

Really having anything to reflect that you're playing in the middle of the night besides the Cops picking fights would be awesome.

That'd be cool if the moonlight shone! Since it can keep track of days, why not the moon? Full Moon + Level Up a Zoura = Zoroark! Haha.

It would be nice to have certain trainers move during certain times of the day and certain days. I was playing Diamond at night and..
Why are there a bunch of 6 - 8 year olds standing on a beach in no clothing at 1 am?

I love the idea of pissy night-shift nurses! and Youngsters having to go to bed.
 
Pissy nurses? How about they just let go of their Stepford Smiler status just a bit and they say things that can be taken both ways.

Joey was actually not allowed into the Elite 4 because his Rattatat was in the TOP FUCKING PERCENTAGE. It would wipe clean even Red's team. There is no strategy to beating Joey, only the slight hope that if you surrender he might spare your soul.

Whoah! Thats the best thing I've read on this site so far. Why can't they at the very least give each character a random hair color or something. And why can the player character not be customized in any way other than name and gender, most other games this long do it. I want my main character to wear purple, not just look like everyone else.

That would be totally win. I always got a kick out of going to the Town Hall at night to make bank deposits!

Anyway, I wouldn't care if they added a little bit. Like the random hair color thing that someone said.
