Anyone else really enjoying this new show?

I've seen a few episodes, but it never really grabbed me. Wasn't bad, just...I dunno. It's like The Batman. Not bad, just not as gripping as the 90's series.

The last episode was great. It managed to cram in:

-introducing the alien symbiote that went on to become Venom, with the side plot about John Jameson's dangerous re-entry into Earth
-introducing Spidey's black suit from that symbiote
-introducing Black Cat
-introducing the Chameleon
-introducing Captain Stacy
-introducing Quentin Beck
-Spidey discovering the identity of the Green Goblin

I like it. It's all set-up now, but it's interesting to see how they re-write origins of characters to fit the series. I also like how they deal with the black suit making Peter evil. He's not overtly evil, but he's lying more then usual. I have high hopes for the series.

This series has the potential to be the best Spider-Man cartoon yet. My favorite part is how it deals with so many recurring subplots at the same time. It's very true to the source material, and makes you want to tune in every week in fear that you'll miss something. The enormous cast that includes even characters like Stan Carter (Sin-Eater), Frederick Foswell, and Sally Avrill is awesome.

Loved Gobby's breaking the fourth wall in the last episode too, forgot to mention that.

"Anyone else getting a sense of deja vu here?" while looking straight at the camera = win. XD

VENOMVENOMVENOMVENOMVENOMVENOM.

That was an excellent episode. I've been wondering why they never retold the origin, but that was a better way to do it.

Indeed. Very enjoyable. I liked the whole "mental fight" thing and the appearance of the memory of Uncle Ben. And again with the running subplots, we had Gwen finally admit to someone (MJ) that she has feelings for Peter. I keep waiting for something to happen to her like we're all expecting eventually, but she's almost too cute a character to kill off.

"Nature vs Nurture" = Spidey vs Venom = great episode.

I'm sure other people have mentioned that a Spidey show is doing something right when I'm just as interested in Peter Parker as I am in Spidey. Great continuation of the storyline with Gwen and Peter's relationship, didn't see it coming when Gwen turned out to be Venom's target instead of MJ, especially with MJ's warning about Eddie's behavior.
