So, Lucario and the Mystery of Mew is on Cartoon Network at the moment, and while watching I suddenly had something click in my brain.

The Tree of Beginning and the Ultimate Weapon seem very similar.

The Ultimate Weapon and the Time Flowers seem very similar as well.

The Tree of Beginning is believed to be based off Yggdrasil, and as many know, Xerneas, Yveltal and Zygarde are also considered to have some basis off Yggdrasil or at least some part of Norse Mythology as a whole.

A war was seen being fought, and according to the Timeline article on the wiki, this was the same war the led to Kanto soldiers leaving its shores via boat. This same war from which the one that the Maiden's peak ghost waited for the return of her lover, and the one that Sir Aaron sacrificed himself to stop.

Given that Kanto soldiers were leaving Kanto on boats, it would naturally be concluded they were fighting a foreign region, such as Kalos. Cameran Palace is based off Neuschwanstein Castle in Germany, and Kalos as a whole based off France. Without being a jerk about it, France and Germany have had a difficult war torn past.

While its unlikely to be the same war that took AZ's Floette life (since there is a 1000-1200 year gape between the two wars), the similarities of how both wars ended are pretty startling. While one ended peacefully with both sides effected by Sir Aaron's sacrifice, the other ended in the mutual destruction of both sides thanks to AZ's actions. Two raging armies stopped abruptly by the actions of one man, its just eerie the parallels that can be drawn between all these events that unfolded in the Pokémon World's past.

So, what do you guys think. Any weight to my speculation, do you guys have any similar notes or items to add? Feel free to discuss what is on your mind.

Moved your thread over to Anime, since it has no relation to ORAS.

I think its an interesting parralel but I doubt its on purpose.

Pokemon are have been running out of ideas for a while so are just recylcing stories.

I kind of guessed that with the XY Bunnies. "Oh, I have a idea, lets do bunnies that are able to dig!" also the low number of Pokémon this gen also hinted at the hamster wheels not spinning as much lol.

GameFreak haven't been shy about the fact that they consider Mega's as separate Pokémon. With 40 of those plus the 72 Kalos Pokémon, we have way more than Sinnoh or Johto introduced and we might even pass Hoenn's 135 if the next Gen. 6 games introduces more as well. That's why there's so few new 'mon. They focused on shoving Mega's down our throats.

But back to the topic at hand, yes, this is a very interesting parallel. Obviously Aaron's was was 1000 years after AZ's. But this is still cool.

Plus one died so thousands could live, the other killed thousands and cannot die. Its like two sides of the same coin.

That is a really unique idea, maybe the same Ultimate Weapon exposed the Maiden to rocks that fused with her and turned her to stone
