SPECULATION: What could happen after the Kalos League?

I apologize if this seems like bad thread because I'm jumping the gun (again), but I'm really curious and it felt like a legitimate topic idea.

Okay, the teaser for the next movie has people saying Generation 6 last 4 years after all. Yet in the TV Show, Ash is once again rushing through the Badge Quest (though not quite as rushed as Kanto and Isshu, thank goodness). Heck, even if speculation is wrong and Gen 6 is still just 3 years, things are STILL moving along quickly.

Even if they slow down the Badge Quest, have a big (or at least decent sized) gap between the Psychic Badge and Iceberg Badge (especially if there's a rematch), and a big gap between the Iceberg Badge and the League --not to mention some weeks off for specials and holidays--it's looking like Ash will have this saga's Badge Quest finished by the end of the year, or early next year (if we're lucky).

Personally, I'd like what happened with Johto and Sinnoh to happen in Kalos and the saga end with the League, followed by a few episodes to wrap things up. Unfortunately, too much is happening too fast for me to fully believe that will happen. Even with some storylines to help out (Showcases, Alan & Mega-Evolution, Team Flare, etc.) we still have almost 70 to over 100 episodes to go after XY82 at the end of July, depending on how long this generation lasts.

Perhaps they'll find ways to drag things out like in Johto and DP? A semi-filler arc like the Battle Frontier? A lot of busywork like the Orange Islands or Dregalore (Arceus help us)?

Again, I apologize if it sounds like I'm making something out of nothing and beg your indulgence. Yet the clues we have thus far have greatly raised my curiosity and concerns... :uhoh:

I'd like an arc similar to Orange Islands quest or Battle Frontier or Team Flare related, I hope they don't plan to do another DA! I don't think I could stand such kind of crap again. :s

The group goes back to Hoenn because of ORAS. Something like teaming up with the Gym Leaders to help with something like the Delta Episode.

I think it really depends on what the next new game is and what features it has. They could use something from the new game to provide a new quest for Ash, similar to how they used the Battle Frontier from Emerald and featured it in Kanto to cover the rest of the third generation of games. Although, I'm not sure what they'd do with Serena in that case unless there's another Pokemon Showcase in whatever area they travel through. I don't know if they'll travel through Hoenn. It seems like it would be too late to do something like that by the time Ash is done with the Kalos League. I highly doubt that they'd have a DA kind of arc where they are just traveling to get back to Pallet Town. That would be a lackluster way to end the series and I don't think that we're that close to the seventh generation anyway.

At this rate, I can see Ash getting his last two badges by sometime late this year or early next year. It would also depend on how they'll handle Serena's Showcases. She already has one key, but she needs two more and I expect at one point that she'll become overconfident during one of the Showcases to cost her the competition. I don't see her winning all three keys in a row, so that would help to provide a bit of distance between Ash's remaining Gym battles.

Some sort of story arc inspired by the next games, that may be similar to the N saga of Best Wishes. Or hell, maybe ash does win the league, and they give us an elite 4 saga along with a story arc.

There could also be option of there not existing anything after Kalos league with XY saga ending with that. Just like it happened with Johto, Sinnoh series.

But OP brought up interesting point and that is relatively fast pace at which this show is going currently. Serena already won first out of three princess keys to qualify for Master class(basically end game), Clemont build up and possibly apex of his development already happened(hopefully in Team Flare and Alain arc in case his father is involved, that doesn't have to be true).

And Ash already won 6 badges in less than 2 years(XY began in fall of 2013).
From looks of it and based on opening Alain implementation in Kalos series and Team Flare will probably occur before regional league as well.

So if Kalos continue to go at this speed ; league might happen long while before new game come out. Especially if XY will last for 4 years, thus leaving more than enough time for post league adventure.

Similar how we had Orange Islands, Battle Frontier and Decolora Islands. In that case hopefully possible filler arc will contain content, character development and meaningful story like first 2 filler saga did(DA sadly didn't).

In that case maybe we get follow up on Battle Chateau. But thats more my wishful thinking than anything else; Maybe its just me but it never sit right how Ash first performance there gave out impression how writers are doing sort of build up regarding whole tournament structure. With Ash earning his first title of Baron, history about Battle Chatezu being revealed and serving as nice way to gather gym leaders and all kind of respectable trainers there. Testing skills between themselves and building on reputation.

More Battle Chateau type of events could serve after league as excellent way for Ash and his friends(Clemont, Tierno, Scotty, maybe even Serena who sadly almost never battle)to develop more creative attack combinations and increasing strength of their own and pokemon abilities.

Giving us legit sidequest for Ash to try conquering like it was case with Orange league championship or Battle Frontier. Either winning whole thing or ranking very high. But not just Ash, it could be of great help for others such as Clemont for example as well in becoming more recognized as trainer and gym leader of Lumioe city. Battling other gym leaders, high class trainers, maybe even some E4 if they appear helping in becoming more poised, strategic and sure in his own strength .

This would give us chance to see more of his pokemon in action too like Chespin or Luxray.

Or writers could make Ash finally win pokemon league for once making groundbreeaking improvement as trainer on road of becoming pokemon master. Rewarding viewers for being loyal for so many years to this anime with wait being worthwhile taking his character finally somewhere.

Thus dedicating post league arc in Ash training and preparing to enter champion league(according to Lucian from E4 in Sinnoh winning champion league and defeating champion is just one of steps which brings you closer toward pokemon master title, meaning Ash story doesn't need to end with that anyway).

It would be even better if proper adaptation of World tournament as part of Ash preperations take place there as wel(some sort of Senior cup perhaps).

In that case i would like to see some of older familiar faces coming back. Liker Misty because i feel entering world tournament or even Battle Chateau would be great way in doing something relevant with her after so much time. Advancing water pokemon master dream. Because not only the PWT senior cup will not only it will feature the aforementioned Misty but it also features 7 other trainers, Clemont, Brock, Gary Oak, Giovanni (the Team Rocket Boss), Cilan, Iris, and Trip. The reason why I mentioned Trip's name last because he won the PWT Junior cup

i wouldnt bet the farm on it. Unless something really bad happens with Nintendo, i doubt that this is the last season due to the large audience and potential sales loss.
Back on topic... I can see after the leauge something more in depth with the ORAS delta story and some more focus on Serena and possibly some other characters (hopefully Zinnia). after that i think we would be close to the next gen and possibly more fillers to tide us over. Also if compleating (and likely loosing) the leauge means the traditional switching of supporters, we can see if Sempai Ash notices Serena or if he still is his oblivious self

DigiPoke or PokeDigi is my movie so no one will do this movie
if they want to do a movie about pokemon and digimon so let them think about another story for this movie
I also wrote a story about Pokemon characters vs digimon characters so i can do this story for another pokedigi or digipoke movie too
