Splash = 1-hit KO?

At a friends party, one of the kids there told me that he was battling a magikarp, used dive, magikarp then used splash on his pokemon and it was a 1-hit KO

Basically: Splash is a 1-hit ko if the pokemon being attacked by splash is in the middle of using dive.

Can someone confirm this for me?
 
No. There are only 4 OHKO moves and they are: Sheer Cold, Fissure, Horn Drill and Guillotine.

Huh.Can someone test it out juust to make sure? I mean, he the greatest pokemo nerd I ever met, unless he was lying to me, but it didn't seem so.

There is nothing to test because Splash doesn't do anything...EVER. If Splash dealt damage some hacker somewhere would have found it by now, or Nintendo would have revealed it themselves. But like I said there are only 4 OHKO moves so far in existence and Splash isn't one of them.
 
He's lying.

Splash does nothing at all, let alone an instant KO.
 
Not that I believe this, but hackers wouldn't bother hacking to see if Splash did anything at all. There was a thread where a person claimed that the Everstone worked on males for breeding in HgSs yet no one bothers to give secondary confirmation.

As for the effects of moves, the stuff Smogon had were all tested by actual gamers when D/P came out. They found out Blizzard in Hail hits through protect through testing. Glitches are found by playing the game, and the Mew Glitch in Gen I was just a serendipitous discovery, that if described to most people nowadays, they would never believe it. Nintendo never announced Blizzard being able to hit through Protect. This isn't even one of those ridiculous "Do X a million times" kind of stuff.

Just out of boredom I'll do this when I have time, though that means getting a Pokemon with Dive >_>.

Though I don't know why you don't just test it out yourself considering how its not that difficult to begin with.
 
Wouldn't it be pretty funny if it DOES OHKO though? Would make Magikarp seem a little less stupid, right? のヮの

No not at all. Im not sayng that its true, but i'm just wonndering if anybody had any info on it.
 
the guy lied to you. there is no way that splash can OHKO anything.

More than likely he was lying, just to see if you'd believe him.
