Post your opinions on the upcoming game Splatoon here. Do you think it is Nintendo's best idea ever (other than Pokemon)? Do you think no-one will want to buy it? Or do you think something else?

This thread needs a poll badly.

Anyway, I think it'll probably do really well, it seems to be very popular. It's certainly a nice addition to Nintendo's lineup.

Honestly I think it'll do just fine, the game seems like a blast to play with others. But alone? I'm not so sure. Though I'd reserve judgement until I see some reviews and gameplay footage to see what it's all about.

Only based on the trailer. The game seems fine, well made, and have a really good concept.

I like the creativity. But will or not I buy the game will depend on many things...

But this game is, along with SSB4 and Mario Kart 8, good booster for wii u sales, that all I can said right now.

I'm on the 'meh' side here: I don't think it'll sell as well as Pokemon, but I don't think it'll do that badly. In terms of gameplay, while the painting concept is a draw for me, having played Okami, I'm not that big of a fan of the shooter genre... unless it's like Kid Icaruis: Uprising (which it does look like at the moment,) in which case I'll buy it if I can afford it. Actually, the more I think about it, the more I'm starting to like this game, though I suspect it may unfortunately become a hidden gem like Okami.

I absolutely love the idea and I've heard universal praise from those I know who have had a chance to play it. It's taking the most popular genre in video games and finally making it family friendly (Plants vs Zombies: Garden Warfare is online-only and requires an XBox Live membership, so that's not friendly at all xD).

Also, unlike PvZ:GW it moves away from the main goal being shooting other things. I mean, of course you can shoot the other Inklings and from what we've been shown, they either quickly turn into squids and flee, or they explode (which is cool either way).

Will it be as big as Mario Kart 8 or Super Smash Bros. for Wii U? Not by a long shot. Could it be a strong title that becomes an established franchise for Nintendo? Absolutely.

I was unsure about Splatoon at first, but after viewing it in the Treehouse streams, it seems promising.

Will I get it? Maybe, as long as it holds well... and if I get a Wii U in the future.

It looks like a very fun, simple concept. It will be a blast with friends, definitely.

Can anyone confirm if there is online multiplayer? Or is it only same console play?
Because I probably won't play this alone.

I can't shake this feeling that this game won't do well, but I'm staying optimistic with this one in terms of sales. Not sure yet if I'm going to buy it, however; I need to see more about the game before making a decision. The lack of a single-player experience will be a bit of a downer.

Can anyone confirm if there is online multiplayer? Or is it only same console play?

There's online multiplayer--it's the whole premise of the game, really. In fact, I don't even think they've confirmed local multiplayer/ mixed online-local multiplayer yet, but I could be wrong.

They confirmed at least two player play, one with the Gamepad, one with the Pro Controller.

Also sorry, I didn't get to see anything but the trailer once, all I knew was basic premise.
