I am very concerned I will get overly spoiled for BW. I have made the tough decision to wait until March and be somewhat surprised, as I am sure others have. So, in order for me and others to stay on the online community, I was wondering if BW talk could be restricted to one thread, and talk about the games that gives too much away in non-designated threads to be monitored. It is very difficult for myself and others to wait that long while still being on the online community. In conclusion, I am asking if there will be any type of spoiler protection on the forums, so I and others can still be active on them.

Wrong section. This is about Bulbapedia, Bulbanews, the Bulbagarden Archives, the currently defunct RPGwiki, and the currenty nonexistent Merchandise Wiki.

As far as I'm aware, there will not be such a thing, but a spoiler-free discussion thread is a good idea.

I was going to put it in FAQ, but I realized that it should go here because this thread has to do with suggestions. If this needs to be moved to FAQ, (which is where I almost put it) I do not mind, I would just like some answers.

that'd be hard for you to do... people will put b/w related stuff in their signatures, and i'm sure some will use b/w related avatars too. the only thing you could possibly do is avoid the b/w section, as well as the animé section. and anyways, what could you possibly talk about regarding b/w without getting spoiled? we get new stuff every month. it's not like if people will keep talking about the same thing until march 2011...

Well, I mean the plot of the game, new pokes, stuff about the region and stuff like that. Also, why would I have to stay away from the anime section??? Anime spoilers I can handle. My suggestion is to have a spoiler protection system OUTSIDE of the designated BW thread.

I think that you're confusing threads with forums. Forums are the things threads exist in. Threads are the things you post in (like this). This would also go in the suggestion box not the FAQ. And in conclusion, we try to keep B/W things to the B/W forum, unless they are relevant elsewhere. For example, B/W anime would still go to the anime forum. So, your suggestion isn't exactly "useful."

There is no way to make this entire forum spoiler-free. There's a section for Black and White, but discussion isn't limited to just there.

i just realized i was calling forums threads. I mean making BW exclusive to its foru,ms and if a thread otherwise has spoilers out of the BW section to mark it in the beginning with a SPOILER alert.

Not possible. With this fandom, you're lucky if you don't already know the final event legendary within two days of the Japanese release.

And considering Bulbapedia... yeah. Not possible at all.

Figured as much. Is there any other way for myself and others like me to avoid most spoilers but stay here at the forums?

Not really. Just pay attention to what you're looking at or reading, but it's a battle that's not really worth fighting.

Moving this to the Suggestion Box.

Also, if you want to avoid most of the spoilers, stay out of the B/W section and don't read any blogs about B/W.

Ok thanks guys. My crusade has failed but whatever. Although it would be nice if threads not in the BW section containing spoilers told readers before they viewed it.

And following up on what Sketch said, we have to go to the lowest common denominator with this stuff. And since most people want the info now and want it ASAP, we really can't do much to put spoiler stuff in place, because most people see that as an inconvenience.

Sorry, but as others have mentioned, there just isn't much we can do.

I've been planning on waiting to see all the new pokemon in March as well. I miss the thrill of encountering a pokemon that I've never laid eyes upon before.
