In Pokémon Z-A, it's stated that Siebold left the Elite four and it's implied that Malva disappeared.

Who do you think they were replaced by? Characters we already know (e.g. gym leaders)? New characters?

I think it's intriguing and I hope the new Elite Four members will be revealed in the future.
 
Sleeper pick that came to mind: Ramos. He's old and wise and in this hypothetical would be the series' first ever Grass-type Elite Four member.

For his team I'm thinking Jumpluff, Trevenant, Ferrothorn, Gogoat and Mega Victreebel

From there let's throw in an original Flying specialist since nobody in Kalos covers that. Talonflame, Dodrio, Gliscor, Aerodactyl, Mega Hawlucha

ofc wikstrom and drasna's teams would be updated with this structure of 4 regulars + a mega

As far as we know, we don't know who's the new Elite 4. Although, lets assume that Wikstrom and Drasna are still in their spots, that means we got 2 open spots left.

As for who could take the two new spots... Hm...
Perhaps Grant? Maybe he takes Siebold's spot? Hey, it lets him use Mega Barbaracle without losing his monotype team status either lol.
As for the other one... Perhaps Olympia? Maybe she uses Mega Alakazam?
 
Considering Malva disappeared and Siebold left refine his culinary skills, i can also see Drasna having retired due to her age, so i can see Wikstrom being the only one that is left.

Taking into consideration Clemont left Lumiose City and isn't a Gym Leader anymore (As far as we know), i can actually see him having become one of the Elite 4.

Korrina i also see as an option to have become an Elite 4 member.

Wulfric is likely an Elite 4 member too (He is the eight gym leader, so he might be the first in line if one of the current Elite 4 members leave - same might have happened in Johto, with Kanto not having an eight gym leader, this might have meant Koga was the next-in-line to join the Elite 4 in gen 2, with Janine succeeding him in the process).

And several NPCs refer to Clemont as a Gym Leader still. The Lumiose Gym is only stated to be closed due to the work done on the tower.

It is possible that Clemont is still a gym leader but chances are the gym itself would need to be relocated

My point is that the tower itself was still considered a Gym during the events of the game, therefore confirming Clemont didn't step down during the time skip.
 
DLC spoilers
I still haven't caught Rayquaza so I might be missing a few things but there's an npc in the dlc who says Diantha decided to prioritize her career as an actress. Could that mean she isn't the Champion anymore?
 
Okay I'm glad I waited til the dlc to respond to this, cuz it does change my opinions a bit.

Along with all the above mentioned, we also now know the following:

- Korinna confirms she's still a gym leader so she's out. I assumed she just retired entirely to focus on being Mega Successor so that's surprising honestly.

- Valerie is also heavily implied to still be gym leader (they don't mention her explicitly, but do talk about the woman in charge of Laverre's gym ), so she's likely also out. She was my best bet on becoming E4 or even Champion so that defintley shook things up for me.


With all this and the above already mentioned, here's what I have in mind for a headcanoned new Kalos Leauge:

E4 slot #1: Wikstrom. The Lumiose Museum already confirms he's still E4, so pretty easy. The big change I'll make to his team (and the entire E4 + most of the gym leaders) is a Mega Evolution, and I'll go with Mega Scizor. He already uses Scizor, so pretty clear cut. (We'd be playing with fire if Mega Aegislash happened lol)

E4 slot #2: No confirmation wheter Drasna is still E4 or not, afaik, but I think it's a good chance she's still in place. Mega wise, I like giving her Dragonite or maaaaaybe a new Mega Noivern? :yay: (Dragalge and Altaria are on her team, but there are ready characters with them as aces, so I wanna shake things up)

E4 slot #3: Realstically this is a new character. And I'm headcanoning a Grass Type specialist. It's a type never done for an E4, fills a similar core elemental type hole that Malva and Siebold had with their respective Fire and Water typing, and includes a couple cannidates for notable Kalos mon that never been an ace that they could showcase. I know Kalos already has Ramos for Grass, but 5 years have passed so I honestly just headcanon him retired by now, leaving room for a new Grass specialist. Their Kalos mon ace will be Trevenant and with a mega ace of either Mega Scovillain or perhaps we can create a Mega Trevanent or Gogoat for this very moment?

E4 slot #4: its promotion time! And I'm going Olympia. The actual number a gym leader has to be to ascend seems to vary (Iris and Wallace were #8 yet Koga was #5), though I think her 7th slot gives her at least fighting chance. Plus her aesthetic matches an E4 member more than say Wulfric does to me. Finally her original ace now has a mega, which should be enough to get her over the top. Speaking of, she's absolutely crusing with the Mega Meowstic ace here (My apologies to Alakazam for being immediately usurped, but as a compromise, your base form will still more than likely be on her e4 team!)

And all that leaves is the champion slot, where I also belive Diantha is no longer champion. And maybe this is a cop-out, but I think it could be a new character. I tried thinking up a prexisting face, but all the prime choices are either confirmed in a seperate role, or realstically wouldn't be a gym leader e4, or champion. Besides if our player characters can get to champion within a couple days, a new face could definitely rise the ranks since the last 5 years. I'm not gonna bother predicting their team either just with how anywhere it could go.

My proposal for Drasna's Mega would actually be Mega Garchomp Z. Her family is suggested to be from Celestic Town iirc and either Megachomp generally fits her aesthetic, although I'm going with Z since the original has been used by Cynthia a decent amount already.
