Spring 2026 anime season - What are you watching?

Like it says on the tin, what new series are you watching this season? Are there any specific recommendations you'd make?

What I'm currently watching:

• Akane-banashi - Currently available for free on YouTube, and coming soon to Netflix. I've loved reading the manga of this series, so it's great to finally see it get an anime.
• Ascendance of a Bookworm: Season 3 (Honzuki no Gekokujou: Ryoushu no Youjo): Both @Kasumi and I adore the book franchise. This anime adaption has its issues (including pacing problems and an uproar over AI use in the opening that resulted in them changing the animation to remove it), but it's still an excellent story. Here's hoping they're able to do it justice, and that we can finally get into the best parts of the story with the next season.
• My Ribdiculous Reincarnation (Megami "Isekai Tensei Nani ni Naritai Desu ka" Ore "Yuusha no Rokkotsu de") - This is just pure and utter crack.
• Snowball Earth - I'm actually a bit behind on watching this one, but this is another one where I've read the manga. The episodes I've seen so far seem to follow the manga pretty closely, and I enjoyed that, so I'mm looking forward to seeing just how far into the story this can actually get within a season.

What I'm thinking about watching:

• NEEDY GIRL OVERDOSE - From what I'm hearing from initial reactions to the first episode, this could almost be the Serial Experiments Lain of the post-social media internet? This could actually be a really interesting piece, though I wonder how well I'll be able to get it given that I don't really have any knowledge or connection to the vTubing scene.
• The Warrior Princess and the Barbaric King (Hime Kishi wa Barbaroi no Yome) - I read a bit of the manga a while back, and I recall enjoying it then, but I've not had time to take a proper look at this one yet.

akane-banashi is on my to watch list, been reading the manga for a while now and its one of jump's most underrated manga at this point (although i need to catch up w/ it lol) probably gonna watch it with my roommate at some point!

ahhh and nakamura kun... i watched the first episode at animeNYC last year and thought it was really cute. probably watch that one at some point.

rooster fighter maybe?? i also liked the manga but the cgi was a little weird when i watched the preview of it.

I finally finished Better Call Saul and now I'm currently rewatching Breaking Bad. This will give me a different perspective on certain characters.

I think you've got the wrong thread. Neither of those are anime, nor are they new series from this season.
