• Hiya, everyone --

Recently we've been noticing there have been a few stories here and there that have been posted without content warnings. As a reminder, we ask that every work published in our Workshop contain content warnings, even if none apply (in which case, you can just mention that no content warnings apply). You can refer to a helpful guide on how to rate your stories here, but if you need any further assistance, please feel welcome to contact a Workshop staff member! We're here to help.

Thank you all for helping us ensure our community is a safe and healthy one, and for your continued patronage in our Library and Workshop.

Hello everyone once again!

After a week with a lot of voting, a lot of posts being edited, and a lot of me getting thoroughly confused and having to curl up on my bed in a ball weeping hysterically, we have come down to our official list of nominees!

For the next two/three weeks, us judges will be reading the stories below, judging the characters that are in them, sharing our thoughts and will produce the nine winners in the categories below! It was a tight race, made no easier by the necessity of increasing the votes for some categories that would have otherwise seen much more stories go through, and for that I apologise but it is a very incredible line up we have and I hope people do not get down heartened and instead try again next time, as you never know how the votes will fall as this race showed.

Without further ado, here are the nominees:

The Long Walk by @Pavell
Flames of a Revolutionary by @Tophat Dragoneye
How to Conquer Kanto in Eight Easy Steps by @AceTrainer14

Congratulations all those wonderful writers, and best of luck to you all!

Now, while us judges be judging, I recommend all of you get voting below. Here are the three user voted categories, and for the next two weeks you can cast your votes for any of the people below. Only one vote per category though, so vote wisely and please vote all at once please – I do not think I can handle keeping track of any more edits :p

Best Reviewer: @Pavell ; @Flaze ; @Lance ; @GastlyGibus ; @AetherX
Best Written Word Contributor: @クリスタル ; @kintsugi ; @AetherX ; @Legacy ; @Pavell

All judges report to our group, all voters get voting, and lets make these Awards fan-freaking tastic!

PS Let me know if I left anyone/story/character out by accident

In my rush I left this out; all nominees take note

All of those people who have moved on, you now have the option to submit chapters that will help the judges with reading your works: of course, the judges always read the first few and most latest chapters, but they cannot possibly read every chapter as they are volunteers, so your chapter submissions will help make it easier for us to read your work. In order to submit, simply PM me the links to your chosen chapters
- Please submit no more than four chapters if these chapters are of a reasonable length, and no more than two if your chapters exceed over 20,000 words (use your own common sense here, but you will not win any favours with the judges if you submit four overly long chapters. Just be smart about it, submit what your feel is necessary.)
- You do not need to submit any chapters if your story is a one shot, consists only one chapter or has a small amount of chapters of a reasonable length (ie around 5 and 7)
- Please get them in within the next 48 hours from this post, so the judges have enough time to get going.
If you have characters only, can you please point out if there are any chapters without the character? And think about which chapters, especially in the middle of your story if its long, are best; what showcases your plot, your themes, your style, your characters? (the last one especially if a character moved on)

I didn't know that I was nominated for Written Word Contributor Award for this year. Thank you @AetherX for nominating me.

I didn't thoroughly read any of the fic for more than two chapters in this forum, so unfortunately I cannot give any votings related to the fic itself. But I can give votings about the users in Bulbagarden's writing community, because I always read advice from the Written Word (though I don't tend to post much, especially if someone already gave the best possible answer)

Best Newcomer: @Peaceful Giraffe
Best Reviewer: @AetherX
Best Written Word Contributor: @kintsugi

Just a reminder that if you have a story/characters moving on, I need your recommended chapters in; it massively helps the judges especially if you have a long/multi chaptered story to get through things. I need those as soon as possible!

And keep voting people!

@AceTrainer14; I have a small question. How do you link certain chapters to be judged? I'm not quite sure how to do that. Any help would be grand. Thanks in advance.

There is a number above each post, you just copy that link and then paste it in the PM. Like there should be a 7 above this post; if I wanted to link that I would copy it :)

And a note to everyone: if you submitted chapters last time, I do not know whether you'd want the same ones to go on, as you story would have updated since then so may change, so you will need to resubmit them.

Congrats to all who moved forward!! It was a joy reading up on everyone's fanfics, and I can't wait to see how things turned out.

Best Newcomer: @GastlyGibus;
Best Reviewer: @Flaze;

(I hardly ever go to the Written Word subforum, so my apologies for not voting for that section. I'm sure all the nominees for that are fantastic as well :) )

Best Newcomer:
GastlyGibus

Best Reviewer:
Flaze

Best Written Word Contributor:
Pavell

Good luck to everyone :)

I have an error to report; due to a typo I only just noticed, the mention failed for GastlyGibus' when listed in Best Reviewer. I have now altered this error, and will remind people that you can alter your votes if you would like.

Remember to keep voting everyone! Judging is going well so far with two of the judges already completing their work, and most of those who haven't are reading quite long stories so its rather understandable (I feel bad for the people who have to judge Galactic - sorry guys!). However, it does look like we are on track to have things done on time at the moment so that's good to hear :D

These have meant to have closed by now, but as we are waiting on the last few judgements to trickle in, I thought I would give people another twenty four hours to cast their votes; we have not had much voting so far, and it would be great if people could continue to get involved and support their fellow Workshop members.

Voting for this has now closed. We are in the process of wrapping up judging (only about three out of 14 people left to submit judgements) and results will hopefully be up this weekend.
