Know how there's Revamping, which is making old graphics look new, and Devamping, which makes new graphics look old? Well today, I introduce amping! This new idea is when you take D/P/Pt/HG/SS graphics and make them look better! I know it's kind of a weird idea, but let's see if it'll catch on. I have examples of amping in the attachments. If you want, make some amped pictres and post 'em here!

:/ Gradients and cloud effects = okay. Black blur around all the sprites = ew. It almost looks like you just used the blur tool on everything until I see the still pixeled insides of each sprite. :| IMO Something more like vectoring would be more "making it better".

well, I know Nya-chan doesn't like the black blur, but I think it does look somewhat better myself...

what about using halftones like they used in R/S graphics more? it'd make sprites look smoother while still being pixel-y.
I'll try doing just that in a sec.

My thoughts exactly. Though I will admit the backgrounds to look alittle more decent like that.

Yeah, I used a glow tool for the black smudgy things around the sprites. I thought that looked kinda good like that. :p And yeah, this is just kind of a concept thing, just wanted to see what people thought, if itwould catch on. :p

am I doing it right?

Your pics look good, but I also disagree with the blur.

I think they look awesome, and I don't think the black blur is all that bad... Well, keep at it!
