I haven't read of anything like this, so I believe I may have found a new glitch. While trying to activate the missingno. glitch, I didn't run into a wild missingno. but a level 164 Squirtle! Just as the missingno. glitch, you go to Pallet town and get the old man to teach you how to catch Pokemon, then you fly directly to Cinnabar Island. Go directly right from the Pokemon center and use surf. stay on the shoreline, and go up and down it. A random encounter starts, and it's a level 164 Squirtle. Idk if this works for the other games. The Pokemon in my party were Rhydon, Moltres, Charizard, Wheezing, Dewgong (specifically Sailor, whom you recieve in an in game trade), and Omnamite.

Sorry bud, you can get just about any Pokémon via the Missingno. glitch.

The glitch Pokemon you get doesn't depend on your party, but on the letters in your name. The whole missingno. glitch happens because your name gets stored temporarily in the data for where wild Pokemon appear when you talk to the Old man. And that data doesn't get overwritten when you find a Pokemon in Cinnabar island, so your name turns into a wild Pokemon! The name also affects the level that it's at :)

EDIT: Notice how in that video the first two Pokemon were Missingno and Squirtle. His name is Jarrod. "o" makes missingno appear, and "r" makes Squirtle appear.

I remember getting level 147 Golducks on the shore of Cinnabar Island when exploiting the Old Man Glitch in Blue. I would even battle them with my Electrode and Venusaur, when they were both getting close to level 100, just for the EXP. An obvious menace in battle, of course, due to being so overleveled.

Because this and the aforementioned Squirtle glitch is part of the Old Man MissingNo glitch, this stuff happens in both Red and Blue, but not Yellow.

I don't have much memories as it was a long time ago but I do remember doing a variation on the Safari Zone glitch and walked through walls (but wasn't in glitch city) and did the Missingno glitch early to get him, because barring his atrocious Special stat he was decent despite being a glitch (Swords dance and sky attack manage to be broken in the main game, because the AI is stupid).

Sorry to burst your bubble but level 100+ encounters are a typical result of the Missingno. trick.
I believe your trainer name determines the species in kind of the same way the 'catch any Pokemon' GameShark code works, but any are possible, including Mewtwo and Mew.
