Perhaps it's because I'm a newbie, and maybe I didn't search very thoroughly, but I've had a look around on Bulbapedia a bit, and can't seem to find the answer to my question.

In what games does STAB take effect?

I began to think it exists in all of them, but my friends all seem convinced that it's just Generation IV. If that were so, wouldn't something such as STAB be listed among the things introduced in Generation IV?

It actually wasn't among any of those lists for any of the generations. I'd not only like an answer to my question, but it should probably be fixed in the Bulbapedia articles--or at least an explanation should be given as to why it doesn't say.

If I'm just being foolishly blind and asking a completely ignorant question, please just correct me without flaming. >.>; I'm new.

Er... Thank you in advance.

STAB takes effect in every Pokémon RPG. It is one of the fundamental game mechanics.

this isnt entirely a Wiki question, but i can turn it into one.
check out this page to learn about it. and then we ask, why doesnt that page have more information on it? looks like someone (maybe me) will have to wiki-fy it.

STAB has been in use since Gen I. but does anyone know if it works in side games like PMD or Ranger? (ive not played those games, so, i dont know how they even work)

Thank you.

I didn't realize it wasn't necessarily a wiki question. >.> The problem was my frustration at the fact that the wiki did not have the information I was looking for.

@Magnedeth: I think we share a favorite Pokémon.

In Mystery Dungeon, I do believe it applies. It doesn't in Ranger, though, because there is no actual battling.

no prob.
and
oh really...?

Magnemite isn't my number one favorite Pokémon, but it certainly makes the top ten. Top six, actually, if we're to judge by my Pearl team. Though it is probably the most under-appreciated Pokémon on the team, having the lowest level at 74. However, this is mearly due to the fact that I train them in order, and my Magnemite is number six.

Anyway, I know this isn't relevant to the topic I posted, but because I don't know exactly where to ask this, could anyone direct me to a page with a list of what Effort Points are gained from battles with each Pokémon?

Hah hah, thanks. xD I'm a noob, okay? I probably would've found it eventually... just not as quickly as I would've liked.
