Notice Staff Chart (Last Updated December 10, 2024)

We have seven different 'projects' here, all of which are distinct parts of our whole as Bulbagarden and work together to make our site as amazing as it is. Those projects are: our Forums, Bulbapedia, Art Team, Bulbanews, Public Discord, Multimedia, and Social Media.

To start, here's a small explanation of the different ranks of Forums staff we have here!

Spoiler: Forums Staff Roles Explanation

The forums are headed by the Head Administrator, who is assisted in their role by the Deputy Head Administrator, as well as the Forum Administrators. The Deputy Head Administrator directly assists the Head Administrator in their job of managing the forums as their second-in-command, and can fill in for the Head Admin when needed. As for the Forum Admins, their jobs are to oversee the forums on a global scale, including managing and guiding other forum staff. Administrators are also important for performing technical actions related to the site's well-being and upkeep as well.

Below the Administrators in rank are the Super Moderators, who similarly oversee the forums on a global scale, though with more limited responsibility. Super Moderators work closely with both Administrators and Moderators in a variety of ways, such as training new moderators and leading staff in discussion. Some Administrators and Super Moderators stick closely to a particular section they enjoy as de facto heads of their section, but this is not required, as acting in a global role is valued more.

Below the Super Moderators are the Moderators! Moderators are 'hired' to look after usually one specific section of the forums, though some may help out in multiple sections -- as you may have guessed, they generally help out in their own sections by doing things like dealing with reports and taking part in section-specific discussion.

Staff Chart Changelog, June 19, 2024

We have a new staff chart, so I'd like to make some announcements! A 'changelog', perhaps?

First off, we have an improved layout to this chart that looks cleaner, for one, but also more accurately reflects our organization being made up of different projects. With that in mind, we have some more information about our non-Forums staff positions present!

Secondly, alt text has been added to each badge image, for the benefit of our users who use screen readers.

Third, from now on, we're going to start doing announcements for our new Forums hires and promotions! ...Well, it'll likely be mostly myself doing that for a while, because I take care of updating this chart, but we used to do it before and decided to bring it back! Joining our team is something that should be celebrated, in our opinion, so this is one of our ways we'll do so!

Staff Chart Changelog, August 28, 2024

There have been some minor adjustments made to our staff chart here and there over the past few months in order to accurately reflect some changes that have been made throughout our staff team, as well as our new Forum Moderator Applications section.

We would like to highlight one of those changes (that happened only a few hours ago) in particular, however, as it involves a user who I'm sure many of you have come to know and befriend throughout his time in our garden.

Congratulations to @guzmania, as he is now a Super Moderator!

Please give him your best wishes if you'd like to cheer him on, we're all excited to see what he'll be able to do in this new position, and looking forwards to have him help out further!

Staff Chart Changelog, September 10, 2024

Just a small announcement this time, but -- congratulations to @Beth Pavell, who will be rejoining the Writers' Workshop team!

You may recognize her as the head of the Workshop for quite a few years, up until last year! Even though she sadly had to take a break from helping out with the forums due to IRL busyness, she's been a very valuable presence in helping advise our Workshop team over the past year or so... I've been especially grateful for her input and feedback! Because she's able to help out a bit more now, we're happily welcoming her back onto our team! I'm very excited to see how she'll be able to continue helping out here -- she's a very great writer, if you were wondering, also! Though maybe that's to be expected with our Workshop team...? (The Long Walk is her long-running magnum opus~.)

Staff Chart Changelog, November 18, 2024

A pretty big announcement this time!! Rather, a big set of them...?

Aside from some minor changes here and there that have been made (particularly to the Bulbapedia section), we're also pleased to announce some new Super Moderator promotions!

Please give them your best wishes as they learn the ins and outs of their new positions -- we're quite excited to see what is in store for every one of them!

We're also happy to announce that @cybelyrium, who is also a Bulbanews Writer and a moderator for our public Discord server, will be joining us as a Moderator over the Pokemon Video Games section! They've already shown great promise elsewhere on our staff team, so we think they'll be able to continue that on our forums, as well -- please give them your well-wishes as well!

Two new faces join the forum team today!

@Cress (formerly known as Handium) is spreading their wings after a fantastic start as a Bulbapedia Jr. Admin to join the Pokemon Video Games moderator team. They'll be moderating most of the category, specifically the Pokemon Scarlet & Violet, Pokemon Legends: Arceus, Pokemon Gaming Discussion, and Questions and Answers section.

And our second new moderator, new to the staff team is @farewell friend! She joins us as a new moderator for The Garden Grotto.
