...I own them all (or...most of them) on tape. I've got them on DVD. Not even a big Star Wars fan anymore, but I have a feeling I'm going to be plopping down some money for these. Nice features, though. Carrie Fisher doing commentary for the original trilogy is cool. "Star Wars Tech" seems interesting, if not predictable. And various other features hosted by other members of the cast is cool. Now if they'd only release the Ewoks movies on Blu-Ray. Truly life would be complete then.

The last time I actually bought the trilogy myself was the "THX" boxset on VHS, but a few years ago I got the original theatrical trilogy DVD set as a gift. Even though the transfers are identical to those that were on the Laser Disc release many years ago, and not even enhanced for anamorphic televisions, those are still enough for me given the alternative.

If the original trilogy is ever actually remastered and re-released in HD, I'd probably pay for that. I really don't need all the CG in the old movies, myself; and what's more I find it irritating. I am a bit curious about what kind of changes will be made this time around, though. At the very least the existing CG shots will be redone once more; but I wouldn't be surprised if we got a couple brand new edits, too.

With the 3D theatrical releases around the corner, I think I'll wait to see what Lucas does with that before I ever get anymore box sets. Like TM, the last set I got were the THX VHS sets as a gift. I catch enough of the marathons on Spike since they air them every other week, I'm fine without these extras.

Probably won't get it, my dad already has a copy of the 1997 Trilogy Special Edition boxset VHS, I don't have a blu ray player, and these will might be super edited.
