In order to train for the Pokemon Video Game Championship 2011, I'm gonna take my first foray into competitive battling.
(Note that, according to this year's rules, all the Pokemon have to be Unova-region Pokemon)

I'm starting with a Durant right now, which has a Docile Nature (I looked for 2 hours and couldn't find one with an Adamant Nature :( ) and has its Defense as its easies-to-raise stat. It is holding a Focus Sash.

Its ability is Hustle, and its known moves are:
Hone Claws
Iron Head
Night Slash
Rock Slide

My next Pokemon, Carracosta, has a Naive Nature and has its Defense as its easiest stat to raise. It is holding a Quick Claw.

Its ability is Solid Rock, and its known moves are:
Aqua Tail
Rock Slide
Earthquake
Protect

My Chandelure has a Hasty nature, and has its Sp. Attack is the easiest to raise. It is holding a Expert Belt.

Its ability is Flame Body, and its known moves are:
Fire Blast
Will-o-Wisp (Considering changing that)
Shadow Ball
Psychic

My Serperior has a Gentle nature, and has its HP is the highest stat to raise. It is holding a Miracle Seed (That might change). I do not plan on getting rid of this one, because I cannot restart my game now or activate the GTS.

Its ability is Overgrow, and its known moves are:
Leaf Blade
Giga Drain
Toxic
Aerial Ace

I have a Reuniclus and a Scrafty, but their natures and stats are undesireable for competitive play. I wanna train my competitive battle-only Reuniclus for HP and Sp. Attack, and I want my Scrafty to have a couple of good egg moves, along with reasonable Attack and good Defense and Sp. Defense.

Suggestions for improvements would be appreciated :)

If you actually want to do well in the vgcs, you cant just take what the game gives you and move on. First off, you need to keep trying to get a good iv'd and natured pokemon, likely bred because of egg move necessities. But before that, you need to plan a team out, and test it out on Pokemon Online. If you win 80% of your battles you are in pretty good shape.

In other words, plan out your team evs and all, test it out on PO, then write that all up and ask us for help. Thats why battle sims exist (one reason, at least), actually. To help you test and make sure your wifi team is optimal.
