This is my first ever pokémon fic. I hope you enjoy it! This fic takes place in a region of my own creation. The protagonists are about 15 years old in age.

Chapter 1-First Pokémon
There was a single spotlight in the middle of a dark room which was filled with the sounds of machines doing all kinds of sounds. In the spotlight there was a beautiful woman dressed in a lab robe. Her hair was brown and she had beautiful green eyes. She had in her hand a microphone.
"Welcome! I'm Proffesor Daphne, the most knowledegeable person in pokémon on the Atara region, but you already know that. I choose all 20 because you had the higher grades in school. I want you to help me research pokémon. I will give you for that a pokédex."
Another spotlight illuminated a group of 10 boys and 10 girls that were about about 15 years old. At the right side of Proffesor Daphne, a tabble full of devices that looked a lot like I-phones appeared . Those things, had an either pink or blue case attached. Proffesor Daphne took one of those devices in her hand and began speaking again.
"The pokédex is a high-tech device designed to collect data of every pokémon you capture. The pokédex also includes a pokémon encyclopedia written by me with colaboration from Proffesor Oak from Kanto, Proffesor Elm from Johto, Proffesor Birch from Hoenn, Proffesor Rowan from Sinnoh, Proffesor Juniper from Unova and Proffesor Sycamore from Kalos. I will also give you a pokémon from 20 available, these are..."
Another spotlight illuminated a tabble with 20 pokéballs which had each the photo of the pokémon they had inside attached with tape. Another spotlight illuminated a big screen that was above of Proffesor Daphne.
The screen showed the photo of a Bulbasaur in it, then Proffesor Daphne resumed her speech. "...Bulbasaur, a grass/poison dual type pokémon native to Kanto,..." the screen then showed the picture of a Charmander. "...Charmander, a fire type pokémon also native to Kanto,..." the screen again changed and showed the picture of a Squirtle. "...Squirtle, a water type pokémon which also is native to Kanto,..." the screen changed once again showing a Pichu. "...Pichu, an electric type pokémon native to Johto,..." the screen once again changed showing an Eevee. "....Eevee, a normal type pokémon well known for its wide range of evolutions, that is native to Kanto,..." the screen again changed showing a Chikorita.
"...Chikorita, a grass type pokémon native to Johto,..." the screen then changed to show a Cyndaquil. "...Cyndaquil, a fire type pokémon native to Johto,..." the screen then changed to show a Totodile. "...Totodile, a water type pokémon native to Johto,..." the screen once again changed showing a Treecko.
"...Treecko, a grass type pokémon native to Hoenn,..." the screen then changed to a Torchic. "...Torchic, a fire type pokémon native to Hoenn,..." the screen then changed to show a Mudkip. "...Mudkip, a water type pokémon from Hoenn,..." the screen then changed to show the image of a Turtwig.
"...Turtwig, a grass type pokémon from Sinnoh,..." then the screen changed to show a Chimchar. "...Chimchar, a fire type pokémon from Sinnoh,..." then the screen changed to show a Piplup. "...Piplup, a water type pokémon from Sinnoh,..." then the screen changed again to show a Snivy.
"...Snivy, a grass type pokémon from Unova,..." the screen changed to show a Tepig. "...Tepig, a fire type pokémon from Unova,..." then the screen changed to show an Osshawott. "...Osshawott, a water type starter from Unova,..." the screen changed to show a Chespin.
"...Chespin, a grass type pokémon from Kalos,..." the screen changed now to show a Froakie. "...Froakie, a water type pokémon from Kalos, and..."
The screen changed showing a Fennekin that had gray fur and bright red flame-like hairs coming from its ears. "...a shiny Fennekin, a fire type pokémon from Kalos. Shiny pokémon are my speciality, so I hope you can catch many for me."
The crowd of 20 teenagers had their eyes wide opened as they saw a shiny pokémon, those were hard to find and you had either to be really lucky to find and catch one or really rich to pay for one. They stared at the screen beliebing the part of giving away a shiny pokémon was a joke.
"I will call you one by one and you can come to choose your starter pokémon." said Proffesor Daphne breaking that moment of silence. Proffesor Daphne took a sheet of paper and began reading out loud the names.
"Alice Johnson!"
A girl dressed with a pink t-shirt that had the drawing of a pokeball in it, jeans, a red hat, a red sweater, and pink sneakers walked to Proffesor Daphne to pick her first pokémon. Her blonde hair shined that day with the light of the spotlights. Her emerald green eyes clearly showed emotion. Without thinking it first, she immediately picked the pokéball that contained the shiny Fennekin.
"Fennekin is my choice for starter!" claimed her. Her eyes shined with happiness as she got the shiny pokémon. At the moment the only thing she thought about was about her luck. She took the pokéball and a pokédex feling quite lucky for being able to get the shiny pokémon. Everyone there was really jealous of her since she got the priced shiny pokémon that everyone wanted to have.
"Christopher Williams!" called again Proffesor Daphne, this time a brunette boy with blue eyes went to the front to get his first pokémon. He whore a simple green t-shirt, glasses, blue shoes and jeans.
"Eevee is my choice for starter, Proffesor Daphne!" he whispered to Proffesor Daphne as he took the pokéball, a pokédex and then returned to the crowd. When he returned to the crowd, everyone was jealous of him also since Eevee was a quite rare pokémon from Kanto. Eevee was also known for his cuteness and variety of evolutions being a total of 8. Eevee was the 2nd option for everyone. However, everyone's 3rd option, Pichu, was still available.
"Nicolle Garcia!" called Proffesor Daphne.
An enthusiatic girl with long red hair arranged in pigtails came to the front. She was dressed in a purple dress and she was wearing quite expensive jewelry and shoes.
"The cute little Pichu is my starter!" she immediately claimed shouting with all her strength making sure everyone heard. Then, she took the pokéball, a pokédex and then runned returned to the crowd. When she returned, all looked angry as the 3rd most popular option was now gone.
"Ethan Wilson!"
"Julia Thompson!"
"Joseph Lopez!"
"Emma Gonzalez!"
"Diego Ramirez!"
"Olivia Harris!"
"Santiago White!"
"Ximena Perez!"
"Eric Adams!"
"Mary Scott!"
"Benjamin Reynolds!"
"Mia Rose!"
"Luis Daniels!"
"Madison Andrews!"

One by one the twenty of them got their first pokémon and a pokédex. Now they were all ready to go to explore the world and do the research for Proffesor Daphne.
