Ladies and gentlemen, and trainers from around the world!
May I please have your attention!​

Hey, all! Pie here! How're you all doing? Good? Good!

Seems some of you are getting antsy about the fact that we've still got a big hole where a league should be, right? Can't blame you! Yes, we know, it should already be here and we screwed up by not getting it open on the get-go. But rest assured, it's coming! And hopefully you'll like what you see when we set it up!

Our first official tournament should be shortly after we cut the ribbon on the league. It's not going to be a full-party competition, since not everyone's had the time to train up six strong monsters; pick your best champs wisely! Also please note that this is not gonna be the main league competition, but one of many side tournaments we hope to throw. The main league won't be here 'til you guys have had chance to collect badges!

Speaking of which...

Where are my first Gym Leader volunteers? We're gonna need to get down to business and hook you guys up with gyms and badges as soon as possible. Everyone's looking forward to challenging you!

All right, I think that covers all the bases. I can't wait to see you guys on the battlefield!

Also, I'm very excited for BMG's main league and the first Wifi-tourney!! :-D



I wanna be the first to say that I'm definitely going to challenge you guys. Yes, once this actually gets started, I plan on getting my 8 badges and competing in this fine league of your's.

Oh yeah, and I plan on entering the first official tournament too. ^^


Anyway, this is going to be a lot of fun! And I hope that I go all the way, just like Ash! (not that he's *ever* made it to 1st place in the leagues, but you get what I mean, lol) XD
 
As am I. After, of course, I get all of my Fire-types trained.
 
Which decisions have been made as far as rulesets and records go? Are we discussed in other threads "offical" now?

Also, sign me up for a Gym.
 
Do the gyms all have to be mono-typed? If not, I'd be glad to sign up for one.
 
I believe we agreed that the Leader could choose a unifying theme (and I motion that Blue's Balance team from GSC should count).

A lot is going to be what's decided here - however, please note, you've mostly been talking about the main league. There's going to be a lot of variations in the side tournaments. ^^

@Butler, I'm sure there could be more than one balance Gym.....

@Pie: Yeah sorry, about that. I made rules for the side tourney in the finalization thread, but I never get in depth about it because I don't plan in participating in any of them; I'm just really exicted about the main league.

I hope to join the fray as a gym leader as soon as I train up and get some online connection. But for now I guess I'll watch on. XD

Edit: What are the qualifications for being a gym leader and are there level standards?
 
Levels don't matter, DP has auto level.

We still haven't finalized how Gym Leaders are going to be selected. >_<
 
I would like to +1 all of the above and suggest you have a Gym Type tournament in order to decide who gets to be the leader of that Gym.

I would like to chance my arm at being the Dragon Type Leader. ;)
 
I suggested a tourney way back when, and the top "8" become Gym Leaders and are allowed to choose their own type/ruleset
 
So.... *twiddles thumbs* it's times like these where I wish all the DP cards would temporarily break.
 
Well, to bring up the tournament thing... the question would be... would the tourney be for people to enter any team they want to, then win and choose what to use for their gym? Or would it be only for the team to be used in the gym, like for me, all Fire?

Because the first, while it would promote better chances for only the most skilled to win, not on type default, with a Water trainer kicking the ass of someone like me, the second allows for there to be less of a chance for there to be doubled-up types... unless having two gyms of the same type/concentration would be fine.

Or we could do the first, with everyone declaring their concentration beforehand. Then if two of the same concentration made it so far, they could have a match to decide who gets that specific concentration.

And I'd think maybe the tournament matches for this would be better off being best-of-three series, since there's a lot of luck involved in some places. After all, I've won some battles just by a fluke, so best of three would make sure that the trainer who was stronger won.

And everything'd be a full battle, I'd imagine.
