Yep, just like the title says. Fifth book is due out in June, so why not have some fun predicting what's gonna happen?

It's simple: Make your predictions as serious or outlandish as you want. YOU CAN HAVE CONTRADICTORY PREDICTIONS!!! Oh yeah, feel free to pair people up if you wish

Here's some of mines:

-Harry will die at the end of the seventh book

-The defeat of Voldemort consists of Harry taking the sword of Godric Gryffindor, absorbing an Avada Kedavra, then slashing the sword down on the ground and slashing Voldemort in half

-Somehow, Dumbledore dies

-Harry and Ron will get laid by the end of the seventh book

That's all I got...for now

Either Ginny Weasely or Colin/Derek Creevey will get it in book 5.

I predict that I will continue my streak of both not having read the books and not seeing the movies! Goooo me! =D

I predict that we have a whole forum JUST for talking about books and writing.

You figure this might go there? *is getting annoyed at people constantly posting HP stuff in Misc instead of the Book and Writing forum*

Not saying book talk is necessarily illegal in misc, just that I wish people would realize the book forum *does* exist.

I predict that, contrary to what seems to be the prevailing belief among fanfic writers, Snape will not have gone back to spying on Voldemort.

No,he wont.if that happens Millions of HP fans will be so pissed off at JK Rowling for killing off the hero,it won't be pretty.

-Somehow, Dumbledore dies

That's a slight possibility

-Harry and Ron will get laid by the end of the seventh book

Not meaning to sound like a gaki but, Harry's not gay ,he loves Cho Chang/Ginny Weasely/Hermoine And neither is Ron,he secretly loves Hermoine.Plus,it's a kids' book,I don't think JK would allow any of that smut in any of her books.If you think otherwise,then you're a sick minded pervert who has nothing better to do except putting X rated crap into young minds.

That's all I got...for now

Anyways here's what I think will happen by the end of book seven

-After defeating Voldemort,every Slytherin who was a follower of him will die,even Snape and Malfoy.

-Harry will finally admit his love for Cho Chang/Ginny/or Hermoine

-Same with Ron with Hermoine

-The Dursleys will finally respect Harry,and treat him like a member of the family.(like that'll ever happen,but a guy gan dream,can't he?

Well, given what JK Rowling has actually said, I'd agree with Shadow Dino's initial prediction. Harry is headed for the chopping block (think of Hagrid's words in - I think - book I, something to the extent of "You are under a very bad curse Harry, one that has never been fulfilled..." ; think also of the fact that Harry and Voldemort seems to be more and more linked as time pass), and if not him, either Ron or Hermionne.

Rowling is telling the story she wants to tell, I think, not the story the gaki fans (ie, those who expect it to be a perfect-ish Disney fairy tale where the vilain get vanquished at no cost and everyone lived happily ever after) want to hear. Some fans may be angry if she kills off Harry, but why exactly should she care? Some fans are going to get angry whatever happens.

Dumbledore is also pretty certainly going to bit the dust at some point (Harry's world need shaken, and nothing would shake it more than that ; plus Dumbledore's been showing since the start he wasn'T afraid of dying, and as he's taking on more and more responsibility...) ; and Lupin or Black might very well do so soon. I think I've heard that someone close to Harry would bit it in book 5, and those two seems most likely (if not them, it might be Dumbledore).

I'm moving this on Damian's request since this is a book topic and he feels it should go over in the books forum. So....*teleports it to Damian's forum amist brimstone and smoke*

*moves*

<grin>

-Somebody close to Harry dies, and it was a hard death because it was one of JKR's favourite characters.

-I doubt it's going to be Ginny, because she said Ginny'll have a biger part in the next book.

-Mrs. Figg will be a witch, and part of the protections Dumbledore put around Privett Drive.

-The next DADA teacher will be a female, possibly Fluer Delacour.

-Dumbledore will tell Harry everything, or is about to, and then keels over.

-Voldemort will not, despite fan's wishes, die in the next book. Because, hey! Plotline anyone? What's she gonna do for the next books if Voldie dahiling is dead?

-Snape will either return as a spy to Voldemort, which is the belief of many fans, or attempt something else that is equally dangerous, possibly brewing overt potions.

-Harry, or some other male, will lie on the flower bed of Privett Drive. <snicker> (But we all knew that...)

<blinks> I think these are the most likely ones to occur, that have been deduced from the preceding four books, and the interviews and comments that JKR made. If only TLC had one that card...

I don't think he meant that they'd do it with each other :eek: (unless I misunderstood something, but you're talking about why Harry's not gay, and I don't know why else you'd bring up that point)

My predictions: Voldemort will take over the world and enslave everyone, and then kill Harry (I'm serious. I'm a fan, and would like a dark ending.)

Err...oops, I didn't think that belonged there. Sorry 'bout that.

Yeah, WW, I meant that Harry and Ron would lose their virginity to some girl, not each other. Probably didn't sound right, but oh well. And of course, it could be some girl we already now, with the front-runner of course being Hermione.

And here's one almost everyone wants:

-Draco Malfoy dies in the seventh book, towards midway.

Thanks for clearing this up.Sorry about lashing out like that.

<pout> And here I thought we had another H/R fan...

<sigh>

<wanders off to chew on Guillaume's ears>

EDIT: Kill Draco? MY GOD NO! No... somehow, I don't think so.

IF Draco dies, I suspect it will be either

a)RAndom casualty against the ministry

or

b)killed by death eaters for turning on them.

I just don't see Harry and co killing another student. Even Draco. Doesn't fit with the characters.

And Toge, leave my ears alone. A certain cowgirl doesn't like you damaging her property, and since I am HER wolf (and boyfriend)...

And you know what she does to people who anger her ;)

I have Lord History on my side.

But hey! <stops chewing on B's ears> <chews on Abbey's ears instead>

As for comments on ownership and comments in parenthesis, when did this happen? I DIDN'T GET THE MEMO! <pout> <thwaps Abbey for not informing people> <chews her ears while he's at it>

Well, looks like he's gone through with Aba, then Amanda (was that her name?) and now.... RR (I'll be struck down by lightning if her name started with A.)

So, toge, how are you Mr. Innocent Church Boy. I keep mixing you and togepretty up.

Ahhhh Harry Potter. Am going to get it from amazon or something. Must.

Anyway, I predict the following REAL love... polygon? And maybe a bit of story stuff.(not that stupid gaki or whatever fan-site stuff with all that gay nonsense :rolleyes:) :-

Harry: Likes Cho, probably on the outside at least, specially with Wood out of the way now. However, he spent so much time with Hermione that he never realised he has deep feelings for her... Realises this after a big argument. Am hopefully expecting a snug ending with both of them marrying and such, but I think it won't happen.

Hermione: Ron's a good friend to her. But she really likes Harry. She almost insists upon him. (And yes, I admit to jumping on that kiss on the cheek she gave him just at the very end of the 4th book.) She hates arguing with him, even though sometimes she does. Sometimes gets a bit annoyed with Harry, but that's part of very close friendship.

Ron: Likes Hermione, though never really openly admits it. Probably lets her go later. Could HE ever become a loner? You never know, if Harry and Hermione become closer, he might feel left out again, and knowing how you can change his mind [especially without any elder brothers in the school later - F & G graduating so soon], he could be a likely candidate to pass inside information to Voldemort...

Ginny: Heck, I think JKR put a red herring in her Harry-crush-thing. I think it's just a young-girl crush (like many have on Legolas ;))

Malfoy: Looks set to be a Voldermortie from the start. But I'm starting to think that he might get cocky about his powers, and start spreading discord among the Voldemort supporters. He might start thinking he's better than Voldemort, and actually challenges him to a battle, and ends up dying? Probably has some fangirls in Slytherin, but he snobs everybody.

Cho: Wood is out of her life, so she may swear off love forever. This may close the Harry - Cho path.

Snape: In the end, he sacrifices his entire life to the Good Side, because he gets a very vital piece of information from the Dark Side passed onto the school before Voldemort eventually kills him.

Dumbledore: I'm starting to think that "gleam of triumph in his eyes" that was in the 4th book when Harry told him about Voldemort being able to touch him is just another red herring. Everyone is sure he's going to die, and I think so too.

Sirius Black: Barely survives after the 7th book. Ends up living and is now the total opposite everyone thought he is; he's now a hero, but he's tired of the outside world now. Lives a private life with his tight ring of friends (including Harry, Ron and Hermione.)

"The Old Crowd" - the people Dumbledore were talking about in the 4th book: Start privately training, gearing up for the big bang. Yes, I also hope Mrs. Figg turns out to be Mrs. Arabella Figg... Some of them die after the 7th book. It was time up for them anyway. However some remain and live like Sirius (making up just about the rest of his tight ring of friends). Lupin probably dies a very tragic death...

I can't think of anything for the rest right now. x_X;

I do seriously hope that the books get darker and darker and hopefully more mature as they go on. I don't give a s*** about the titchy little brats and their whiny parents who insist that Harry Potter be G all way around. Heck, those little guys are going to grow up anyway. Then they can read the rest. :rolleyes: I hate the way the stupid advertising/media/whatever is milking the success with all those silly goods. They even ruined the movie. I love JKR - I hope she can still keep the true pure essence of Harry Potter in the books...

Yep. That's me, ;)

And Mrs. Figg is Arabella Figg, dahling JKR said so in an interview... :)

<can't wait for June 21st>

'Only a true Gryffindor could have pulled that out of the hat, Harry,' said Dumbledore simply.

I predict that this sentence from CoS will have far greater significance than most people think...

Hmm... Peoples, fans mainly, have assumed that that phrase means that Harry is the heir of Gryffindor, much like Voldie-dahling is the heir of Slytherin. More specualtion results from the discussion of parseltongue and the other abilities passed from Voldie to Harry during the effects of the killing curse.

People think that Harry might be the heir to Slytherin and Gryffindor...

<shrugs> Hmm... I suppose we shall have to see what JKR has done with the next book. She did say she's set things up that no one knows about... yet. Imporant things. A bit like Ginny leaving her Diary behind, and all the mentions of Ginny and the Diary in the novels...

We-ell, what I Think has great significance is the part where whats-her-name-oh-Trelawney said predicted that Harry was born in winter or something like that when he said he was born in July. It MIGHT just be another scam, but you never know, something might happen. Sounds too funny, but yeah...

They should plant Lupin on the other side of those dreaded Dursleys. :-*
