Not mentionned in the article is that 1)This is the party that criticized the liberals endlessly for snubbing America, and 2)Among the speakers who the Humiliation-in-Chief missed was, of course, Barack Obama. Or the fact that his (former) minister for Foreign Affairs was found leaving top secret documents at his girlfriend's, a woman with ties to organized crime. Or the whole thing with missing the official photo at a major international summit...twice.

OAKVILLE (Sep 24, 2009)
Prime Minister Stephen Harper ditched the UN General Assembly in New York to hail the repatriation of the Timbit in Oakville yesterday.
Tim Hortons Inc. is reorganizing as a Canadian public company after 99 per cent of shareholders voted to bring the company home.
Harper was in Oakville during the high-profile UN meeting, which included a speech by Iran's president Mahmoud Ahmadinejad that prompted a mass walkout.
Harper credited lower corporate taxes for luring Tims home.
"This decision, ladies and gentlemen, is all about the bottom line, and the bottom line is that Canada is now not just a great place to live, it's a great place to invest and to do business."
But New Democrat MP Olivia Chow questioned the logic of lowering corporate taxes while allegedly increasing taxes through a harmonized sales tax.
Said Ontario MP David McGuinty: "I love my double-double as much as the next guy. But examining the latest in doughnut technology while the rest of the world's leaders gather to confront the challenge of climate change is like Nero's fiddling while Rome burns."
