(i couldn't think of a better title, so i just ripped it from the previous version... smh)

@Midorikawa; @Alolan Ninetales;

Oceana Pier was, as to be expected, dark and dreary as ever. Overcast skies swirled above in a somewhat mocking fashion; the place was rather scarce in terms of people, and with the exception of a few teenagers here and there, the docks were eerily empty.

As it turned out, having your cruise ship seized and sunk by a group of organized psychopaths wasn't the warmest welcome to Aevium in the least. Amongst those gathered were a little group of adolescents on the left-most dock, two of them identical in appearance. Fraternal twins by the looks of it, the female donning a similar messy hairstyle to her male counterpart. Both had undercuts, similarly-hued silvery eyes, and the same jet-black hair. The male was a bit taller in height, but both didn't look a day over fifteen.

"What should we do now, Harmony?" The boy asked his twin, crossing his pale arms over his chest.

"Beats me, Serenity. We might as well continue with what we came here for, though." Harmony answered, glancing around. There were some Fletchling gathered along the pier, but otherwise, the area was pretty deserted - save for the others beside them, however.

(if you didn't figure it from the opening, they're at the pier after being rescued from the attack on the cruise ship. have fun!)

Olivia just stared at the ocean, emotionless. How could she feel anything at this point? She just saw the only family she knew, just ripped away from her. The life they were going to have in West Gearen was no longer applicable. What was she going to do now? What about the people who were still hoping to see their family on the S.S. Ocenea? The things she saw, the terror, and the screams of the people. Seeing her mother helpless as she was captured by that woman and whatever hell that creature was. She tried to escape, and ended up being cornered by the older man and those beasts. She never felt more helpless than she did now. All of those lives lost, and she couldn't do anything to fix this. All she could do is watch the ocean.

After some searching and wandering, the fraternal twins found themselves in the next city over, which was bustling with activity, unlike Oceana Pier. It wasn't long before they found themselves entering the lab, both looking equally lost.

"Okay, we made it this far already... but, this is Gearen Lab, right?" Serenity mumbled to his counterpart in askance.

"Yes, the sign said so. I don't know where else it would be." Harmony replied back, resisting the urge to roll her eyes at him.

So, the two shuffled to the front desk, wondering what Amanda maybe looked like, and for starters, where she possibly could be.

With no other options, Olivia had to go to the Gearen laboratory. As of now, she was an orphan. She had nowhere else to go, not much money to her name, and no clue how she was going to make it. Where was she going to sleep? In an alleyway? There was no way she could afford a hotel. There was just too much as she felt the rain beating down on her head. It definitely wasn't welcomed. Her once wavy, light cotton candy hued hair was now becoming stringy and heavy due to the droplets. Her pace quickened as she ran into the building. A few deep breaths as she looked around. The building was as large inside as it appeared to be on the outside.

"Where cou--" soon Olivia would be interrupted by another voice. It belonged to a woman who was around 5'7", a nice bronze skin tone with black and red streaked hair in a ponytail. She smiled as she looked in the general direction of Olivia.

"Hi! I'm Amanda!" she spoke up cheerfully, "I'm glad to see you all made it! I was starting to get worried that you wouldn't show up. Overslept or nerves I bet, right?" The pink haired girl just shot a glare at Amanda, who didn't even seem to notice. She had no clue what she had just went through. Though it took her a moment to realize that the twins were also there. She briefly remembered them signing up to get a trainer card. She wondered what they were going to do now as well.

"Ah... let's leave it at that, I suppose," Serenity chuckled drily, shooting a nervous glance to his (slightly) younger twin.

"This is where we are to receive our starter, correct?" She asked, picking up on Serenity's anxious behavior. "We apologize for our disregard to timeliness. There were unforseeable circumstances that delayed our arrival to Aevium."

"Oh, that doesn't matter," Amanda spoke up with a smile before looking to the woman at the counter, "I'm here to get some Pokemon for the newbies here!" Olivia wasn't quite sure how to take the comment. Yes, she was a 'newbie', but was the comment necessary? Perhaps this whole ordeal has made her more than a little grouchy. She was about to follow Amanda behind the counter when another voice echoed in the room.

"Amanda, is that you?" the voice called out. It seemed to be a masculine sounding voice. This immediately caused Amanda's face to pale as she turned around slowly.

"Uh...oh..." was all she could say as she saw a black haired figure walk towards her.

"And I thought you were bad," Serenity muttered towards Harmony, wincing as she jabbed him in the gut. "But, you know..."

"Don't say it," she warned him.

Serenity gave her one of those looks.

"No, don't you dare," she muttered, glowering at her counterpart.

"...Do you think it was it a buy one, get one free at the-"

"If you want to live, you will not finish that sentence, Serenity." Harmony growled, turning her steely gaze to the approaching man. It wasn't difficult to see the resemblance between Amanda and the newcomer.

“And just where have you been?” the man asked as he looked to Amanda. His expression gave away that he wasn’t amused in the slightest as his arms were crossed. “I’ve tried contacting you for weeks. Why haven’t you gotten back to me?”

“Oh, you know, I was….busy…and stuff??” this was her attempt at trying to make a good excuse, but it clearly was a failure at best. It wasn’t fooling anyone.

“Uh-huh… and while you were out being ‘busy’, I’ve gone ahead and finished our project. I need you to deliver it for me to Zumi. She’s currently studying in the Magnolia Library.”

“Oh! You know! I’m tied up with these three at the moment, so I can’t take it.”

“More new trainers? I see.”

“Yup! Meet Jan, my brother!” This gave Olivia a chance to snap back into reality as she smiled nervously at Jan.

“Oh, um, hi," she responded to the man in front of her.

"Looks like I'm not the only one with a troublesome counterpart.." Serenity grumbled with a sigh. He winced again at another jab to the stomach. "Oh. Uh, hi."

"Hello there," Harmony greeted after her brother, having the decency to look a little sheepish.

“Oh nice to meet you, I’m Amanda’s brother.” Jan replied politely.

“Yup! We both co-manage the league!”

“If by ‘co-manage’ you mean I do all the work while Amanda plays then yeah, I do co-manage.”

“Oh please, you know I’m better with the hands-on stuff, and you’re better with the paperwork. I mean, is it really such a good idea for me to be handling the documentation?”

“You’re right, it wouldn’t. You’d just burn everything and everyone to the ground. I’ll just take it to her instead. Have fun goofing off again, Amanda." with that, the boy left. Olivia didn't really know what to say at this point.

"Gone like the wind much?" Harmony mused, somewhat to herself, as her gaze returned to Amanda.

"Don't worry about him, let's just get going! Follow me!~" Amanda replied cheerfully as she dashed off ahead of the young adults.

"Um, okay then?" Olivia replied, clearly as confused as anyone else there. She didn't even tell the others where they were supposed to go before running off. A sigh escaped her lips as she figured she would have to find the room on her own. Shouldn't be hard, right? She just walked towards the doors, wondering what would be ahead.

Deacan like the other three had been on the ship. Unlike them he didn't have parents. He had actually stowed away on the ship. His father was a man he never knew and his mother...she died a few years ago. He did like the other three manage to obtain a trainer card. He hadn't come there for the same reason. He merely wanted to get away from his past so he stowed away. Seeing others his age though had made him curious so he decided to follow them, keeping himself hidden even in the laboratory. Even now he was following them. He wasn't entirely sure what was going on. All he understood was that they were new trainers and seemed to be getting pokemon. Which he was curious about. What kind of pokemon did this place give?

The journey to the Starter Lab was mostly uneventful, only being interrupted by an impatient blonde moving in the opposite direction, nearly bumping into Amanda as she went - an apology fresh from her lips as she left.

The biome-esque lab was home to foreign region-specific Pokémon, the little starters roaming about the three biomes. To the side sat a strange cyndrilical contraption, with a spectrum of colors painting its walls.
