This is the mythology of a mountainous region called Biru. The Biruvians had many deities (though not all were often worshipped), and myths. Most of their gods were based on Pokemon, with the exception of Geritiz, the god of hunting.
As we progress through the legends, there will be "historical" and "geographical" notes shedding light on the Biru region.
And now, onto the gods and goddesses of Biru.
*Artucuni - Goddess of winter. The only woman of the three Heavenly Bird Siblings. She wore pale-blue robes and had blue hair sticking up in spikes like icicles. She was cruel and cold as a result of being jilted by a mortal lover when she was young. Her Pokemon avatar was Articuno.
*Hitorannal - Goddess of metalwork. She was very ugly, with lava-stained robes and steel teeth. But she was also clever and kind, often helping out humans by teaching them new ways of working with metal. Her avatar was Heatran.
*Hohou - God of the sun. He was majestic and handsome, with rainbow-colored robes and long blonde hair. He used to be god of fire before losing his title to his fellow god, Phinoxtre. Because of this, he hated Phinoxtre. His avatar was Ho-Oh.
*Myu - Goddess of humanity. It was she who created humanity from mountain rock. Her avatar was Mew.
*Terrapintz - God of the earth. It was he who initially suggested the creation of the world, and bears it upon his back. His avatars were the various Torterra of the world. The are identical to him, except in size.
*Lugos - god of the sea. A very popular god, he nonetheless was very tempermental, often creating vicious storms. He also had a voracious sexual appetite, enjoying many affairs with earthly women. He had an abnormally long neck, and wore blue-and white robes. His avatar was Lugia.
*Darkqurail - God of dreams and night. A shady character, he was often prayed to before sleep to ensure safe passage throught the spirit world of dreams. His avatar was Darkrai.
*Entil - God of volcanoes. He was majestic-looking, with long, flowing hair. He married Hitorannal, and unlike many other married gods, was faithful to her. His avatar was Entei.
*Jiraquizahi - goddess of fate, luck, and wishes. She had hair made of prayer tags. Her most prominent cult was located in Picowattal (lit. "City of Luck"), near what is now Roca City. Her avatar was jirachi.
*Manzil - Goddess of rivers and lakes. She had skin of water. She was the daughter of Lugos and Myu, and as such was worshipped alongside them at their temples. Her avatar was Manaphy.
*Giratizna - God of death. he was a grim-looking figure with black-and-red robes. He snatched away human souls for Hondum, lord of the underworld. However, he despised his evil master, and constantly plotted to overthrow him. His avatar was Giratina.
*Crescosille - Goddess of the moon. She was the wife of Lugos, and was often frustrated by his unfaithfulness. her avatar was Cresselia.
*Digala - God of time. He and Jiraquizahi worked together to decide a human's destiny, and their judgement could not be altered by or disclosed to other gods. His avatar was Dialga.
*Arkyesil - God of creation. The original supreme god. He created the world and the sky. He then disappeared from existence, but promise to return on the Final day to cast judgement on those who defied the gods.
*Azil - Goddess of courage. She taught courage to the original humans, though she did miss a few. Her avatar was Azelf.
*Mezpri - Goddess of emotion. She instilled emotion in the original humans. her avatar was Mesprit.
*Uquiex - Goddess of wisdom. She gave wisdom to the early humans. Her avatar was Uxie.
*Phyon - Goddess of love. She decided who a human would fall in love with and how, using the jewel on her forehead. She was another child of Lugos and Myu. As the goddess of love, she had innumerable affairs with humans. Her avatar was Phione.
*Geritz - God of hunting. he had no avatar, which suggests that he was assimilated from a West Kanto mythology. He taught the art of hunting to humans. he wore a Mighteyena-fur cape, Shimama pelt, and a helmet with Tauros horns affixed to it, to show off his hunting prowess.
*Ritazz - God of thunder. he worked closely with Zinpado, the god of lightning. His avatar was Raikou.
*Phnioxtre - God of fire and evil - one of the Heavenly Bird Siblings. He was a fiery man-bird with a long neck. After he defeated Hohou in a duel through trickery and switched responisibilities with the sun god (Phinoxtre was once god of the sun), he began a downward spiral towards becoming god of evil. he will lead the forces of evil in the Absolute Battle of the Final Day. His avatar was Moltres.
*Hondum - God of the underworld. He was a tyrant over his realm, constantly demanding new subjects. He became comrades with Phionxtre, the god of evil. His avatars were the Houndoom of the world, and they acted as his messengers.
*Kalixatu - God of prophecy. he was a popular god, and tribal chiefs often wore robes that resembled his. It was he who relayed what would occur on the Final Day to Regigigas, the supreme god. His avatars were the Xatu of the world.
*Weehoon - Goddess of music, poetry, and song. She was a bird-woman with the head of a Chatot. Her avatars were the Chatot of the world.
*Spiritos - God of tricks and mischief. With the aid of his underhanded tactics, Phinoxtre was able to win the title of god of fire from Hohou. He acted as a mediator between good and evil, and will serve as a neutral party on the Final Day. His avatars were the Spiritomb of the world.
*Raquaz - God of the sky. He did not meddle much in the affairs of the gods and mortals, and indeed will flee this existence rather than fight on the Final Day. His avatar was Rayquaza.
*Regise - God of ice. He was a malevolent force that often froze mountain climbers hoping to conquer summits, much to the dismay of his father, Regigigas. His mother was Artucuni. His avatar was Regice.
*Sharmyin - Goddess/God of flowers. Sharmyin could take two forms, male and female, though it preferred its female form. Sharmyin was a popular deity among Biruvian women. its avatar was Shaymin.
*Regigigas - God of agriculture and mountains. Being responsible for these things of such monumental importance to biruvians, he was, naturally, the supreme god, though he often shared this honor with his siblings Myu, Hohou, and Lugos. His avatar was Regigigas.
*Zinpado - God of lightning. One of the Heavenly Bird Siblings. he was constantly moody and angry, and his outbursts was what caused thunderstorms. His avatar was Zapdos.
*Laprusz - Goddess of transportation. She spent her days milling about on the sea, thinking up new ways to travel. Her avatars were the Lapras of the world.
*Kangrusquain - Goddess of fertility and motherhood. Not much is known about her, since the mythological texts usually only mention her in passing. It is known that she was Regigas' wife. her avatar was Kangaskhan.
*Delizborn - God of messengers. He will join Spiritos as a neutral party on the Final Day. His avatars were the Delibird of the world.
*Denoxas - god of change. Will not appear in his true form until the Final day, when he will create a new world from this one's ashes. His avatar was Deoxys.
*Craunbatal - God of caves. Was often prayed to to ensure safe passage through caverns. He used to be the god of evil before he tricked Phinoxtre into inheriting this duty. His avatars were the Zubat, Golbat, and crobat of the world.
