Storm Emeralda, the next Japanese expansion for the Pokémon Trading Card Game, officially revealed alongside new ex Starter Set decks

Fans have today received their first official look at cards from the Storm Emeralda expansion for the Pokémon Trading Card Game, which will be released in Japan on July 31st. This set was recently announced as part of the Soaring Mega Rayquaza campaign, which will feature a range of physical and digital products based around Mega Rayquaza that will be released over the Japanese Summer. Also revealed today were new ex Starter Set decks featuring Eevee ex, Zoroark ex, and Meowscarada ex, as well as a Special Art Rare Mega Gallade promo card.

Cards from the Storm Emeralda expansion and from the new ex Starter Set decks are anticipated to be released internationally later this year in the Delta Reign expansion on November 6th.

ex Starter Sets
These latest ex Starter Sets (Japanese: スターターセットex Starter Set ex) are a collection of three Standard Decks for the Pokémon Trading Card Game that will release in Japan on July 31st, alongside the Storm Emeralda expansion. Each starter set includes two copies of its central Pokémon ex, along with a number of basic Trainer cards and basic Energy cards essential for new players. Each set also comes packaged with a sheet containing 44 damage counters and 2 status markers, a player's guide, a coin, and a two-player playmat. Unlike the original ex Starter Sets, which focused on the Paldean first partner Pokémon, these sets center around Eevee ex, Zoroark ex, and Meowscarada ex with no clear thematic link between them.

Mega Gallade ex Tournament Promo
The Mega Gallade ex card from the Special Card Set Mega Gallade ex (released alongside the Japanese Nihil Zero expansion and internationally in the Chaos Rising expansion) is being reprinted as a Full Art special illustration rare-style M-P Promotional card as a winning prize for the "Mega Gallade ex SAR Get Battle" events that will be held in Japan from July 31st to October 31st. Participants who have won 3 or more matches are eligible to receive the card, which will be mailed to them from December.
