Story :
Riku Reiroku is a 13 year old girl who was born in Rustboro. She has the exact same hair and eye color as Steven. She HATES insects, reptiles, and slimy things (weirdo). When she was small, she met Steven once. But that one time is enough to make her like Steven. The story was like this,
Flashback
A 5-year-old girl with indigo hair fell down on that hard brick road outside the town. “Ouuuch... My ankle hurts...”
Then came another voice, “Hey kid. Want me to help you?”
“Of course! Do you think I can stand?! And, I’m NOT a kid!”
“Hehe... sorry, you just look so small. Here you go (he helped her stand). By the way, my name’s Steven. What’s yours?”
“Humph! My name is Riku. What are you doing here anyway? I thought all of the people here are all asleep.”
“Well, I guess I can say the same to you. Hehe...” He said with that evil grin.
“Wha-? You are soooooo irritating! I think I’m going to go now. Someone’s just ruined my mood.” ‘But he looks kinda cool... I think...’ thought Riku.
“So, you’re just gonna go away without saying thank you to your savior?”
‘Man! He’s using that evil, evil grin again!’ “Are you playing with me?”
“Do you really wanna know?” “Duh.”
“Well, the answer’s yes. Besides, don’t you like it when I’m playing with you? Hehehe...”
Riku blushed a bit. “Why you! You are REALLY REALLY irritating and you’re wasting my time!”
“I know. I like to irritate people, especially when they’re so small but still acting tough. Hehehe...”
“Huh? What do you- Hey! Are you talking about me?!”
“Yeah. Who do you think I’m talking to? A ghost?”
“Why you evil-”
Steven cut her off. “cute, handsome, and a gentleman also. Is that what you’re trying to say? Hmmm?”
Riku blushed, stopped for a second, and replied or, shouted, actually, “No! That’s NOT what I mean! And I would never ever say anything like that!”
“Hooo... Then, why did you blush and stop for a second? You would answer me right away if you didn’t mean it.” He said with that evil grin of his, again.
“Eer... Wh-what do you mean? I didn’t blush. And I do NOT blush just because of some stupid jerk!”
“Stupid jerk, huh? Well, this ‘stupid jerk’ helped you and now you’re giving me a bad nickname? And you didn’t even say thanks whatsoever!”
“And exactly WHY would I need to say thanks?”
“’Cause you asked for MY help and I helped you and now I’d have to help you again.”
“Why?”
“You can’t walk right? I have to take you home or would you prefer the hospital (is there even any hospital in this game?)?”
“Uuh... I’d prefer my home.”
“Okay then. Here, climb on my back. I’ll carry you until we reach your home.” (He said that with the nicest and I mean the nicest smile Riku ever saw.)
Riku blushed like a tomato and looked down to hide her face.
“What’s wrong? Are you sick or something? Or, are you starting to fall for me and you don’t want me to carry you? Hehehe...”
“N-no! Wh-why would I fall for you? And, it’s not that. It’s just that, are you okay with carrying me until we reach my home? It’s kinda far you know.”
“What’s your weight?”
“20 kilos. Why do you ask anyway?” (Remember, Riku is still very small.)
“Well, then it means I’ll carry you without any problem. But I think it’s too heavy for a small kid like you. What did you eat anyway? You’re overweight!”
“Why do you care what I eat? It’s not like you’re my mum or anything.” Riku snapped.
“Whoa, I don’t know a kid like you can say something like that. I thought all kids are supposed to behave. Especially a girl. Or, are you half-girl half-boy?”
“Hey! I AM a girl. So what if I can say something like that?”

By this time, Riku is already on Steven’s back and already heading towards Riku’s home.
And, let me tell you, the trip is gonna be one long trip.

“Well, you’re not supposed to say something like that. Anyway, what’s your age? You look so small even though I don’t think you’re at that kind of age that I think.”
“What do you mean?! I’m 5 years old.”
“WHAT???!!! You look like a 3 year old girl!”
“Are you mocking me?!”
“Yes, I am. What?”
“Why you-! You-you-you-”
“I’m what? Can’t you say any other words than you?”
“What?! What do you think I am? A 3-year-old girl that can’t talk?!”
“Yeah, didn’t I say that you look like a 3-year-old girl?”
“Grrrr”
“What, now you’re pretending to be a monster?”
“No! I am NOT a monster! I am a girl! A girl who wants to be a Pokemon traine-” ‘Oops. Why the hell did I say that! Now he’s gonna mock me! What can I say? What can I say?’ thought Riku.
“What did you say? You want to be a Pokemon trainer? I think you still have a long way to go.” “What do yo-” “But, it’s great to have a dream like that. You have to continue to dream like that. If you stop dreaming about something, you’ll never get it.” Steven said with a sad face.
‘Why does he look so sad? Did I say something wrong?’
“Hey, did I say something wrong? You looked so sad just now.”
“No, it’s nothing to worry about. And, you’re asking that why? Are trying to pity me?”
“What! I didn’t say I was worried about you! And I do not pity you.”
“Good. I don’t need the pity anyway.” Then, his face became dark. (You know what I mean)
‘What happened? He was so irritating one minute and the next minute he becomes scary. I just don’t understand him.’
After that, they didn’t say anything to each other until...
“Hey, we reached your home already. Now, get off me.” Steven said with that bossy attitude of his.
“Okay okay. You don’t need to tell me. I wanted to get off anyway. Humph!”
(She got off him)
“Well, I guess this is goodbye. I’ll... see you... again? Maybe?” Riku said with all the courage she had.
“So now you’re going to miss me huh? Hehe... Maybe we’ll meet again. Someday...”
“Really?” Riku asked him VERY happily.
“Hey, no need to be that happy. I just said maybe. Don’t keep your hopes up. Hehehe... Now, you just go inside your house and from now on, train hard to be a Pokemon trainer. ‘Kay?”
“Okay! I promise I’ll be a strong trainer!”
“Now that’s a good kid. Hehehe... Bye now.”
“Bye-bye!”
End of Flashback
It has been years since Riku met Steven and now she’s 13 but she never forgot about him. In fact, she’s always been thinking about him ever since he left but she doesn’t remember his face nor his name. (hohohoho...) Right now, she already got her starter Pokemon, Mudkip and also, she’s traveling around Hoenn. But what she is REALLY doing right now is running away from a herd of Beedrills. While she was running, she saw a certain blue haired Pokemon trainer with a Pikachu on her shoulder.
“Hey! You’re a Pokemon trainer right? Can you please help me make these Beedrills faint?” shouted Riku.
But that girl (the Poke trainer) didn’t help her. Instead, she ran away too with that frightened look on her face. Then she shouted, “For now, run away first! I’ll make them faint when the time is right! Follow me!”
Of course, with nowhere to run, Riku just followed her. Then she looked back and saw that the Beedrills are catching up with them.
“Hey! They’re catching up with us! We’re barely 10 meters away from them!”
“Really? Okay then. Now stop and face them!” She turned around and faced the Beedrills.
“Pikachu, thundershock!”
“PI-KA-CHUU!!!” Then, the Beedrills fainted.
“Wow, that was awesome! What’s your name? I’m Riku Reiroku from Rustboro City in Hoenn and I’m currently traveling around Hoenn.”
“Thanks. I’m Karen from Blackthorn City in Johto and I’m trying to be a greater Pokemon trainer than my sister, Claire. She’s a gym leader.”
“WOW! Your sister’s a gym leader?! No wonder you’re so good! Hey, why don’t we travel together?”
“Yeah, that seems like a good idea. By the way, how old are you? 10?”
“Hey! I know I’m short but I am NOT 10! I am 13 years old already! How old are YOU?”
“Sorry, didn’t know. I’m 14. Say, where are you going from here?”
“I’m going to Petalburg City.”
“Hey, I’m going there too. What do want to do there?”
“I don’t know. I want to go to the gym but they say that you have to collect 4 gym badges from other cities first then you can challenge the gym there. They say the leader’s really tough.”
“Wow, you know a lot about the city huh?”
“Yeah, I kinda studied the cities first a bit so at least I know something about this and that city.” Riku said proudly.

I’m gonna fast forward this story a bit because there are some uninteresting parts where there’s no comedy or romance. So, don’t be startled when it’s too fast.

“Karen, you’re not really tired are you? I mean, we just walked for about 100 meters!”
“Of course not (I think she’s lying). I can walk more than just that. Oh yeah, do you know where the mart is? I want to check if there are good things there. I’ve never been here.”
“Oh. The mart’s over there. What do you want to buy anyway?”
“It’s a secret. Well, I’m off to the mart. Go wherever you want and we’ll meet in front of the Poke center in 1 hour. Okay?”
“Okay.” ‘What does she want to buy anyway? There’s nothing here!’
~1 hour later~
“Hey! Riku, I’m over here!”
“WHAT did you buy?! How much money do you actually have?! I’ve never even seen anybody buy 3 boxes of something IN a MART!”
“Oh, these? They’re just... something.”
“Whatever. Now let’s just go to the next town shall we? I’m bored already.”
“Okay, okay. What’s the next town?”
“Rustboro City.”
“Hey, isn’t that your-”
“Yeah, my hometown. So?”
“So, we’re gonna meet your parents then?”
“Don’t know. Maybe we’ll meet them maybe we won’t.”

“Oh, but there’s already a Butterfree in front of you.” Karen sweatdropped.
“Gyaaaaaa!! Run for your lives!!!!!”

“Haah... haaah... That. Was. Scary. I never want to go back there again!”
“Hey, Riku, are you scared of insects and bugs?”
“Yeah, but not only that. I’m scared of reptiles and slimy things too.”
“Really? But there are also bugs or insects that are cute you know.”
“What?! You think they’re CUTE?! Those... those... horrible insects... You call them cute?!”
“Okay, okay. I understand. Now, let’s just look around the city. Okay?”
“(Sigh) Okay. Can we go to the gym? I want to battle Roxanne.”
So, Riku won from Roxanne and now she’s walking around Rustboro. Then, she went to the Devon Corp.’s building and met the president director (what for? don’t know).
~In the President’s office~
“Are you a Pokemon trainer? I want to ask you if you could deliver this letter to a person named Steven Stone and the Devon goods to Capt. Stern in Slateport City. But I want you to have this Pokenav. This device can help a lot when you travel.”
“Yes, I am. And, thank you for the device. I appreciate it. I will go now.”
~Dewford City~
“Hey Karen, what do you want to do?”
“Mart! Then, I don’t know. Up to you.”
“Haaah... can we go to the mart later? I want to defeat Brawly, the gym leader, get the badge, and use Flash inside that cave. I want to explore it. And, we have a letter to deliver to that Steven guy.” ‘I think I know the name Steven somewhere... but I’ve never met him. Have I?’
“Buuu... Okay then.”
Of course, Riku defeated Brawly (with ease? Don’t know. Who cares anyway?) and got the badge she needed to use Flash. Now, she’s in Granite Cave without Karen. She REALLY wanted to go to the mart (?) so Riku was left to explore the cave herself. And then, she got into the edge of the cave (this is where the interesting part begins hehehe...).
~Granite Cave~
‘I think I’m in the edge of this huge cave. Hmm? Who’s there? Hey, that Indigo hair... I think I know a person with that hair color... But who? Maybe if I get closer I’d know who he really is...’ thought Riku while walking towards that person.
And that person (which is Steven of course) turned to see who was walking his way. He then saw a small girl (in his opinion) with the exact same hair and eye color as his. ‘Who is she? No, have I met her before? I know those Indigo eyes somewhere...’ He asked, “Who are you? A kid like you shouldn’t be wandering around this cave. Are you lost?”
‘Hey, now I really think I know this person. No one’s ever called me a kid so easily before. Except... him...’
“He-llo?” Steven asked again, “Are you there? Hey!”
“Uuh... Huh? Oh, what did you say again?”
“Eerm... Who. Are. You?”
“Oh. My name’s Riku Reiroku. Have we met before?”
“I don’t know. I wanted to ask you that too. So, what are you doing here?”
“I came here to explore the cave. By the way, do you know a person called Steven Stone? I wanted to deliver a letter for him.”
“Why, I am Steven. There’s a letter for me? Who’s it from?”
“The president director of Devon Corp. Do you... by any chance know him?”
“Of course! I’m his son. Ok, back to the question, have we met before?”
“I think so. You look like a person I somehow know. That Indigo hair of yours... Were you in Rustboro in the middle of the night 8 years ago?”
“Yes, I was. How did you know that?”
“Eerm... 8 years ago, in the middle of the night, I met a person who looks like you but I don’t really remember his face. It was too dark.”
“Yeah, I remembered that too. So, you’re that mini Riku huh? No wonder, you still look so small. You know, you look like a 10 year old girl. Hehehe...”
“What! I AM 13 YEARS OLD! And-”
“And? You want to say that you’re not small? You have to admit it you know, you ARE small.”
“Hey! You were polite just now! Now that you remembered me you won’t be polite huh?!”
“Yeah, how’d you know that? And are you a great Pokemon trainer already?”
“Of course! I already defeated 2 gym leaders!”
“That’s all? Even a rookie who tries hard can do that. Hehehe...”
“What! Are you mocking me?! And what about you? Do you even have ANY badges from all the gyms?” ‘Hehehe... I bet he doesn’t’
“In fact, I DO have all the badges. And try not to make a bet with yourself. It’ll make you feel more embarrassed. Hehehe...”
“What?!! How could a person like you have all the badges?! And how did you know-”
“That you made a bet with yourself? It’s easy. It’s written all over your face. Actually, you’re almost like a book. Hehehe...” Steven cut her off with an evil grin plastering his face.
“Why you damn-! Humph!”
“Hehehe... Do you know that you look so funny like that? Hahahahahahaha...”
He continued to laugh at Riku for another minute while her face was red. (poor Riku... But again, who cares?)
“Hey! Stop laughing you stupid jerk!”
“-hahahaha... That was a good laugh I had. You know, you can really be a joker you know.”
“I don’t want to be a joker!”
“Okay then. How about you become a joker for ME?”
“WHO the hell would want to be a joker for you?!”
“Actually, I have quite a lot of fans not only in Hoenn but also in Johto and Kanto. They would be pleased to be a joker for me. But I think you’re the best joker for ME.”
At this point, Riku was blushing a bit. She was never called the ‘best’ in any category.
“I would never be a joker for YOU!”
“Why, that’s a bit disappointing. Well, I have to go now. And here, I’ll give you one of my escape ropes. It’ll help you get out of the cave quickly.” He said that with a warm smile (can you imagine the smile?).
Riku blushed, again. “Th-thanks. Wait, are you going already?”
“What, you would miss me would you? Hehehe...”
“N-no! Why would I? I just wanted to ask you what you were doing here...” Riku looked down while saying this.
“Oh, that? I was searching for rare stones. And because you’d miss me, I think I’ll give you what I got from somebody I know. I don’t need it.”
After saying that, he took out a pair of black and purple gloves and gave it to her.
“Wow! Black and purple are my favorite colors! Thanks!” She then gave him a smile. (at last!)
“Yeah, I know. You’re wearing black purple clothes too. I can see it. You really are not feminine are you?”
“No, I’m not feminine. Is there something wrong being tomboy?” Riku snapped.
“Yes, I think if you ARE feminine, you would look so much cuter than you are now. Oh, I’ve got to go. Bye!”
Riku blushed like a tomato. ‘He thinks I’m cute? Hehehe... the first time a person ever called me cute... Hey, wait. He’s gone. Damn! He ran away just like that! Grrrh!”

“Hey Karen. WHAT did you buy this time?! And about the letter, I met Steven in the cave so I just gave him the letter.”
“It’s a secret. Anyway, why did you say ‘Steven’? I thought you used to call this ‘Steven’ guy ‘that person’ or ‘the person’. Did something interesting happen? Hehehe...”
“No! Well, unfortunately, he was someone I met 8 years ago and it’s easier to call him with his name.”
“Oooooh... I thought ‘something’ interesting happened. Hey, where did those gloves come from? Did he gave it to you?”
“Yeah, he did. He said he doesn’t need it. So he gave it to me. Wait, if he gave it to me that means... not used gloves+given to me=I’m his trash bin?!”
“Maybe. Well, anyway, now that we’re done with this city, where are we going next?”
“Slateport. I need to deliver this Devon Goods thingy to that Capt. Stern guy. Then we go to Mauville to challenge the gym. Then, maybe we can go to Verdanturf. I heard there were good Poke contests there.”
“Really?!”
“Yeah, but you have to have a contest pass that you can get at Fallarbor to enter. I heard there were Poke contests there too.”
“Oooooh... Then come on! Let’s make these things quick! I want to go to Fallarbor City!”
“Okay, okay. You don’t have to drag me. We ARE going there anyway.”
Then, Riku went to Slateport, Mauville, defeated the gym, and so on and so on until Riku got the fifth gym badge which can help her use surf blah blah blah. Now, she is at the edge of Mauville and trying to cross the river to Route 119. After she arrived at Route 119...
~Route 119 (Riku is alone because Karen is at the casino and said that they’re going to meet up at Fortree City later)~
‘Hey, what’s that? Is that bush moving?’ ‘Srek, srek’
“Hey ya Riku! What are you doing here? Puh! Hahahahaha!” Said Steven who just jumped out from the bush. He was laughing at Riku who was SO frightened and surprised and looking so pale.
“-hahahahaha... Did I frighten you? Hehehe... Look at your face! You really are the best in making me laugh Riku!”
After regaining her face color back, she said, “Stop laughing at me! It’s your fault you just jumped out like that!”
But he was still laughing, of course (I mean, who wouldn’t?).
“S-sorry, hehehe, I just can’t stop laughing. It’s just that you were so funny with that shocked look and now you’re still funny with that red face. Hehehe...”
“Humph! What are you doing here anyway?”
“I can say the same to you. What are YOU doing here?”
“I’m going to Fortree to fight Winonna. Duh.”
“So, you’ve only got five badges? Well, that’s a kind of slow. You won 3 badges in 3 weeks. How slow.”
“What do you mean by that?! How long did YOU take for all of the badges?”
“5 days.”
“WHAT?! YOU GOT ALL OF ‘EM IN FIVE DAYS ONLY?! THAT’S IMPOSSIBLE!”
“It’s not impossible. It’s because I can fight MUCH better than you. And I do use strategies. Not like somebody... Hehehe...”
“You-you...! Eeerrrgh! And were you talking about me?!”
“Of course. You think I’m talking to a ghost? And besides, who do you think would I talk about? I AM talking with you. So, of course I would be talking about you.”
“Eeerrrgh! You. Are. So. Irritating me!!!!!!”
“Good. I like irritating you. By the way, I see that you like my gift huh?”
“Eeerrrgh! Yeah, I do like the gloves.”
“It’s a pity it’s already dirty. What did you use it for? Playing in dirt?”
“What?! I just used it for traveling!”
“So, you mean you’re careless or untidy or you just don’t care about the gloves?”
“I know it’s not the last one. I like the gloves.”
“So, you’re careless and untidy?”
“Urgh... No! I’m not careless! It’s just that... I was attacked by several people...”
“Like who?”

“They did?”
“You know ‘em?”

“Hey Karen! What took you so long? I even defeated Winonna already!”
“Hey, Riku. Sorry, it seems like I was too absorbed in the games. Hehe...”
“Oh. How much did you win?”
“I won 10000 coins. Hehe... Amazing, isn’t it?”
“What?! How-how how did you win that much?”
“I don’t know. I guess I just got lucky. Oh yeah, I got you a Mudkip plush doll. Here, keep it safe. And, our next city is... uum... Lilycove, isn’t it?”
“Thanks. And yeah, the next city’s Lilycove. We have to go there from Route120.”
“Okey doke.”

“It’s a Kecleon barrier. Don’t you even know it, Riku? Your knowledge really is small. I’m amazed, Riku.” cut a voice Riku knew VERY well.
“Grrrrrhh! Steven! What are you doing here?! And why do you always appear in unexpected places?!”
“I have my own reasons to be here, Riku. Why are you asking that, Riku? Have you fallen for me? Hehehe... And, why are you trying to be monster again?”
“Uuuurrrgghhh! I will NEVER fall for you, stupid jerk! And I am NOT trying to be a monster!”
“Really? Well well well, who do we have here? Is she your friend, Riku?”
“Oh, I’m Karen from Johto. You are, I suppose, Steven Stone, correct?”
“Yes, I am. Which part of Johto did you come from?”
“I came from Blackthorn. My sister is the gym leader there.” Karen said proudly.
“Oh, you’re Claire’s sister? Can you say hi to her when you meet her? Is she still very emotional?”
“Yes, I am and I will say hi to her for you. And she is more emotional than ever ever since a guy called Brendan defeated her with ease.”
“Oh, then maybe you can just forget what I asked you. She would be mad if she hears something about me.”
“Okay. By the way, how do you know my sister? You’re from Hoenn, right?”
“Well, I didn’t just defeat the gyms here in Hoenn but also in Johto and Kanto. I thought it just wasn’t enough to defeat gym leaders only in Hoenn, so I traveled around Johto and Kanto too.”
“Wow.” said Riku and Karen in unison.
“Eerm... so, have you defeated the champion and the Elite Four?” asked Karen.
“Yes, I have. The champion was very annoying so I was just thinking about how to defeat the narcist champion.”
“The champion’s narcist?!” asked Riku while she stared in disbelief.
“Not only him. The eighth gym leader from Sootopolis, Wyverie, (Note: in this story, Sootopolis gym have already a new gym leader!) is also a narcist. From what I’ve heard, Wyverie really likes Wallace, the champion. They’re a perfect couple I say. Two narcissists became a couple, that’s not weird.”
“What?! So there are 2 really narcist people I have to defeat?! Oh man...” said Riku (disappointed?).
“Yes, there are.”
“Eerm... Steven? How do you know so much about Hoenn, Johto, and Kanto? How long have you been traveling?” asked Karen.
“Well, I went traveling when I was 12. So, yeah, I’ve been traveling for about 5 years already. Actually, I finished my traveling in those 3 continents 3 years ago. So, I traveled for 2 years.”
“Then what are you currently doing?”
“I’m just going over from this place to another to find rare stones. Just in Hoenn, of course. It would take a long time to find stones in Johto and Kanto.”
“Oh. And, Steven? I believe you have met Riku before 8 years ago, right?”
“Yes, I have. Is there anything you want to ask?”
Karen went to him and whispered, “Was Riku small like this too when she was five?”
He whispered back, “Yes, she was. She was as small as a 3 year old girl.”
“Hey, I heard that!” said Riku with an angry (but it’s funny too) face.

“Me? Stupid? I don’t think so. I remembered when they tested my IQ they said I got a really high IQ.”
“How high?”

“What?! Me? I-I only got eh… 139… Hehehe… Oh yeah, how high are you, Karen?”
“Me? I got 145.”
“Whhhhyyyy????” Riku was very down for a while. Then her head snapped back up.
“How many instruments can you guys play? I can play the piano you know!” said Riku happily.
“I can play the piano and the recorder. How about you, Steven?”
“I play the piano, the violin, the flute, and the recorder.”
“What?! How can you play so many instruments?!”
“Well, my father made me learn all of those instruments when I was 5. And, I am a genius anyway.”
“What?! You’re becoming narcist!”
“What do you think a person with 170 IQ is? A stupid person? I don’t think so. They call it genius, right?”
“Uuurgh…”
“Oh yeah, I remembered that you couldn’t pass the Kecleon barrier, right? So, I’m gonna give you this.”
“What is this?” said Karen, curious.
“A Devon scope. It’ll help you, a lot.”
“Thanks. This’ll definitely help us.” said Karen.
“Oh, look at the time! I HAVE to go NOW. Bye! It’s very nice to meet you, Karen!”
“Bye, Steven!” said Karen while Riku is still mad at him. (hehehe…)
After Steven is gone from their sights…
“So, Riku. He is your lover boy, right?” said Karen calmly although she was still laughing in the inside.
“He is NOT my lover boy! Can you just quit it with this couple thingy?!”
“No, I don’t think so.”
“Karen! Whhhhyyyy????”
“Because, I just like to tease you. Got a problem with that?”
“Yes! I have a VERY big problem with that!”
“Why would you? You two look good together and besides, you looked happy when you were quarreling with him.”
“I did NOT look happy!!!!!! And I DON”T like him!!!!”
“Okay, okay. Chill, girl. I won’t do it again.”
“Good.”

Karen stooped dead in her track. Her face was indescribable. It’s both shocked and VERY angry. Riku was REALLY frightened. She never saw Karen like this.
“Hey, Karen? What’s wro-”
“SETH! WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU DOING HERE?!” screamed Karen.
The guy called Seth then turned around to see the very angry Karen.
“Karen! What are you doing here?” he said as if he doesn’t care about her being angry.
“I asked you first! Now answer me!”
“Okay, okay. Just chill, okay? I went here to explore Hoenn, of course. Also, your sister asked me to find you. I already said I didn’t want to though. So she said she’ll just wait until you come back. Now you answer my question. What are you doing here?”
“I’m here for the contest, of course, you jackass!”
“Whoa, what happened to you, girl? Oh, you got a kid with you? How unusual…”
“Hey! I am NOT a kid! I’m 13 years old, ya know!” said a now angry Riku.
“Oh, sorry. The name’s Seth. I’m from Blackthorn too. I’m a strong Pokémon trainer ya know. Hehehe… I’ve battled lots of strong trainers in my journey.”
“So, you know Steven Stone? I heard he was very strong.” asked Riku out of the blue.
“Yeah, he was the only trainer that I couldn’t defeat from all the other ones.”
“He beat you?! Then, he really IS strong. Wow.” said Karen with disbelief.
“What? Is this guy THAT strong?” said Riku.
“Yeah, I am THAT strong. But that Steven guy, he defeated me in merely 5 minutes with ONE Pokémon ONLY. Though, he said I’m strong enough to be a gym leader. Hehehe…”
“5 MINUTES?! ONLY 5 MINUTES WITH ONE Pokémon! That. Is. Unbelievable. He’s damn strong, Riku. I think you really should be happy.”
“Why?” said Riku although she could already figure out the answer.
“Yeah, why? And I wanna know why you suddenly asked about Steven, Riku.” said Seth with curiousness.
“Can’t you even notice it, Seth? She’s his ‘girlfriend-to-be’! And Riku, you should be happy that your ‘boyfriend-to-be’ is VERY strong. Hehehe…”
“Why you, Karen!!!!! You said you’re not going to say anything about that again!”
“WHAT?! This… this… shorty is his ‘girlfriend-to-be’?!! Are you joking?!” said Seth with disbelief at the same time Riku answered Karen.
“I am NOT a shorty and I am NOT his girlfriend-to-be!!!! And Karen! Answer me, right now!” shouted Riku.

By now, of course people are already looking at the interesting ‘show’. But, the three just didn’t care, or, to be exact, didn’t know that people are watching them. --;

“Okay, okay. Well, when I said I wasn’t going to tease you again, I didn’t say for how long, right? So it’s your own fault for not noticing that.”
“Uuurrrgh! You are becoming like ‘him’, Karen! Why are you like this? Why are ALL of you like this? Hiks…”
Then Riku went to a dark corner and squatted there like a miserable person.
“What’s wrong with her?”
“Well, it’s just that me and Steven just liked to tease her so much I think that’s the reason.”
“What? So you know Steven?”
“Not me, her. She met him 8 years ago and they still remember each other.”
“Wow, I’m sure she REALLY is gonna be his girlfriend. Do you?”
“100%. And remember Seth, I’m NOT gonna lose in this battle!”
“No, I think I’d rather forget about it.”
“Seth!”
“What?”
“Just remember about it! Riku, let’s go, NOW.”
“Hiks… okay.” Then Riku stood up from the dark corner and started to walk at Karen’s direction.
~After they’re out~
“So, Karen, is he your lover boy?”
“Why would he be?” snapped Karen.
“You looked so close. What’s your relation with him, anyway?”
“He’s my childhood- no, he’s my rival. We’ve just been fighting and quarreling ever since we met.” Karen said with a VERY dangerous tone.
“Oh. Karen, do you know that this city has the biggest department store in all of Hoenn?” said Riku all of a sudden trying to change the subject, scared Karen would be angrier.
“Really? Where is it? Where is it?” said Karen with stars in her eyes.
“U-uh… it’s over those steps I think…”
“Okay then, I’m off to the department store. Bye-bye!”
‘Phew. Her mood changes so quickly. Good thing I remembered there was a department store here. I could’ve been dead if I didn’t say that.’
~2 Hours later~
“Karen, what did you buy?!” Riku said in shock because she saw Karen bringing 10 shopping bags.
“Oh, just some stuff. Did you wait long?”
“VERY long. I just don’t believe any person could buy that MANY things in a department store!”
“Ehehe… The things in there just made me want to buy ‘em all.”
“(sigh) Whatever. Let’s just go to Mosdeep, the next city.”
“Wait!”
“What?”
“What about my contest?”
“Oh, right. Why don’t you just go and win the contest while I watch you?”
“Okay!”
So, Karen won the contest with Seth as her opponent and they went to Mossdeep.

“Here we are, the continent’s most beautiful city. I heard the gym leaders are twins called Tate and Liza. They’re using Psychic moves and they’re younger than us. Amazing, ne?” said Riku just like a tour guide.
“Yeah, they are. In such a young age, gym leaders… Cool. Well I’m off to the mart. Bye.”
Riku muttered to herself, “I wish I could-”
Riku was cut off by a person running while shouting, “Team Magma! Team Magma’s back! They’re in the space center!”
“What? Team Magma’s in the space center? Wait, there’s a space center here? How come nobody told me? Oh well, this is no time to be asking this. I’ve got to get Karen. No, it’ll take too long. Aaargh! I’ll just go by myself!”
~Space Center~
‘These guys are tougher than before! What happened to ‘em? Hey, there’s that stupid jerk! What is HE doing here? Ah well, I need help! I guess I should just ask him, even though I don’t really want his help, these guys are tough!’
“Hey, stupid jerk! Hey!” Riku shouted at the ‘stupid jerk’.
He didn’t budge (duh).
“Hey, Steven!” He then turned around, “What? Need my help, little girl?”
“Uuurgh! I don’t want to, but just help me, will ya?”
He looked down for a while like he was thinking of something. Then an evil grin spread across his face. Riku was frightened by what he would do…
“Okay, but you have to repay me later. Deal?”
“Okay, okay! Whatever! Just help me here, NOW!”
~5 minutes later~
“Now you’re going to have to admit I am strong, right? Hehehe…”
“Okay, I admit it. You’re strong.”
“Only that? Are you sure?”
“Yes, only that.”
“Okay then. Well, now you have to pay me.”
(sigh) Riku took out her wallet.
“How much do you want?”
“I don’t need money. I’m rich anyways.”
“Uuurgh! What do you want then?”
“Well, I want your face to be red. But you can’t just make your face go red, right? So, you should just give me a kiss. Hehehe…” (he’s SO making it longer!)
“A-a kiss?!” Riku’s face went red all of a sudden.
“On the cheek, of course. But if you want to kiss me that bad, it’s up to you. Hehehe…”
“What?! Of course I would never kiss you on-on-on th-the…”
“Okay, okay. Just get on with it. Hehehe...”
“Uuuurgggghhhh!”
‘Whhhhhyyyyyy me????? But, I have to repay him. He helped me more than twice already.’ thought Riku.
After gaining ALL (I’m not joking, and it took about 1 minute until she was brave enough!) her courage, she thought she’s ready. So, “Steven,” she said with a nervous tone, “can you lean down a bit? I can’t reach you if you don’t.” “Okay.” He replied with that trademark smirk still plastering his face.
‘He’s enjoying this (aren’t we all too?)! Uuurggghhhh!’
Then, finally, Riku stood on her tiptoes (she still can’t reach him) and kissed Steven’s cheek when...
“Riku, that was sooooooooo KAAAAWAAAIIII!!!!!” screamed Karen who just got there.
Riku then backed off as quickly as possible with her face red as a tomato (fufufufu...).
“Karen! You saw it?! Please don’t tell anybody! Please! I’m begging you!” Riku pleaded while Steven was just smirking evilly.
“Ohohohohohohoho... Of course I saw it, my dear Riku! And I WILL tell EVERYBODY! Ohohohohoho...” Karen then just laughed a very evil laugh.
‘She’s scarier than my mum! Note to self : don’t ever discuss about ‘him’ again in front of her! And, evil is another side of her. I have to be careful from now on.’ thought Riku with a scared face.
“Oh, Karen! Please don’t tell anybody! Come on! Then I’ll treat you with ice cream for one week! Please?”
Karen stopped laughing and thought for a while. “I... don’t know...”
“Come on, pretty please?”
“...”
“Pretty please with a cherry on top?”
“... Okay, but make it a month.”
“Deal. Now you.” she said with a dangerous tone, “Do NOT ever tell people anything about this! I don’t want this to be discussed again! Understand, Steven?”
“Why should I? I can tell anybody I want. I didn’t kiss you. You kissed me, right?” he replied lightly as if not caring about the dangerous tone she used.
“YOU asked for it! I didn’t want to kiss you at the first place! Who would?!”
“Many girls I’ve met wanted to be my girlfriend, don’t you know it?”
“Like who? I’ve never met one.”
“You know that fan club house thingy in Dewford? They all gather there.”
“Oh. Well, just DON’T tell anybody!”
“Okay.” he said then whispered to Karen, “not yet.”
Then both of them laughed evil laughs (in Steven’s case, still gracefully).
‘Urgh. I think something bad is gonna happen to me. I just don’t know what it is!’ thought Riku. (she’s seriously dense!!!)
“Well, I’m off to my house, it’s in the edge of the town behind the big tree. Come whenever you want. Bye!”
After Steven’s gone...
“Karen, forget about what happened and act normally, can you? Please?”
“Sorry, I can’t.”
“Whhhhhhhyyyyyy?????”
“Because it was just sooooo CUTE!”
“Urgh! (Riku fell anime style) Come on!”
“Sorry, Riku. No can do.”
“Okay, okay. I give up. Let’s just explore the space center, okay?”
“Okay!” said a VERY happy Karen.
~After from the Space Center~
“The space center was so cool! Don’t you think so, Karen?”
“Nope. I think it was a kind of boring. What do you like there, anyway?”
“The technology was so awesome!”
“Really?”
“Duh.”
“Well anyways, where are we going now?”
“The gym, duh!”
“What about we go to ‘his’ house first?”
“Why?”
“I know you’re curious about his house.”
“Urgh!”
“So, we going there?”
“Yeah, yeah, yeah. Whatever.”
“Where was his house again?” ‘Hehehe... I’m pretty sure she remembered his house correctly.’ thought Karen.

‘knock knock’
“Yes?”
“Hey ya Steven! Riku said that she REALLY SERIOUSLY wanted to meet you so I was dragged by her here.” said Karen with a smirk.
“Hey! I did NOT say that! When did I say that?!”
“In the space center. Don’t tell me you forgot about that.”
“In fact, I had already forgotten about it.”
“What a shame.” said Steven, quietly.
“What did you just say?” asked Riku curiously.
“Nothing.”
“Really?”
“What? Did you really miss me already?”
“No way never!”
“Oh.”
“So, are you going to let us in or what?” said Karen bossily while she winked at Steven.
“Yes, I’m very sorry Madame and mademoiselle.” said Steven politely, not forgetting to wink back at Karen.
“What happened to you? And why do you suddenly use French?” asked Riku.
“What, you’re curious about me?”
“No!”
“What a nice and neat house you got here Steven.” said Karen suddenly cutting off the conversation.
“Thank you.”
“You’re welcome.”
“What?! Why are you guys suddenly using polite words?!”
“What do you mean about that, Riku?” answered Karen, politely.
“I meant, wait, you should know what I mean! Are you guys playing with me?!”
“We are not playing with you, Riku.” Steven replied.
“Then why are you using polite words?!”
“What do you mean by that, Riku? We have always talked like this.” said Karen politely.
“No! He’s always using impolite words!”
“Such as?” Steven snapped.
“Such as uuuhhh... uuuhh...”
“See? I have never used any impolite words. Karen, do you think something is wrong with her?”
“Yes, I think so too. Maybe she is just too tired that it affected her memory.”
“Yes, I think we should just make her lay down a bit.”
“Ok. Riku, please lay down on this sofa. After you lay down I’m sure your memory will be back.”
“Uuuuhhh... o-okay.”
After she went to sleep, Karen and Steven went outside and burst out laughing really hard.
“Hahahaha... She-she just believed in our act! Hahahaha... I really think she is dense! Hehehehe... Don’t you think so, Karen?”
“Hahahaha... Yeah, I still can’t believe she just believed in our act! Hahahaha... You know, when I saw that confused look of hers, I was already laughing in the inside! Hahahaha...”
“Hehehe... Me too! Her face was just so funny! Hahahaha...”
The two just kept on laughing until about 10 minutes later they managed to stop although Karen was still giggling. After they managed to stop laughing COMPLETELY, they went inside the house just to find Riku, sleeping soundly like a log.
“Sheesh, she’s just sleeping like a log even though we laughed so hard! What’s wrong with her? Did she sleep enough, Karen?”
“Don’t know. She’s always like this. I don’t even know how to wake this “log” (remember, she IS sleeping like a log) up! I just wait for her until she wakes up.”
“And, how much time does it cost?”
“A LONG time. You’ll be tired when she wakes up.”
“Well, then I’ll just find something to do.”
“Okay. And oh yeah, what are we going to do when she wakes up?”
“Hmmm...”
“Oh! I got it! How about if we...”
“Good idea!”
So, after 2 long hours (man, I wonder how tired Riku is!), Riku FINALLY woke up. She then saw Steven and Karen talking about “something” and she doesn’t like it.
“Hey, guys!” Riku said.
They didn’t budge.
“Hey! Can you guys hear me?”
Nothing.
“Hello! Earth to Karen and Steven!”
Still nothing.
Because she is a like a kid (duh), she then went to Karen and shook her. Karen looked around and...
“Hey, Steven, does your house have a GHOST?”
Riku shivered and jumped a bit when Karen said “ghost” (ha! Scaredy-cat!).
“What’s the matter?” Steven replied.
“Well, “something” shook me. And I felt a bit cold when “that thing” did.
Riku froze. ‘I’m dead? Me? Dead? What happened?! Why can’t I remember a thing about it?! Oh man! I’m soooo dead! Wait, I AM dead. So, why should I be afraid of death?’
While Riku was thinking, Steven who can read her just like a book wanted to laugh HARD. ‘Puh! Look at her face! This is the best! Oh man, I don’t think I can stand this.’
Karen who was looking at his wanting-to-laugh-hard face then turned around and saw Riku’s REALLY funny face. Then she looked like she wanted to burst out laughing right there.
Steven suddenly said, “Karen, I need to go somewhere. I’ll come back later.”
“Okay. I need to find something in the mart too. So, we’ll see each other again?”
“Okay. Hey, how about you eat here?”
“Thanks, I’ll come back for dinner.”
“Okay.”
After the two went out, they laughed REALLY HARD without “the ghost” looking at them.
And so, Riku didn’t have anything to do. So, she just waited at Steven’s house and explored it.
“Wow, he’s got really rare stones with him. Hmmm? Is this his room?”
Riku peeked and was amazed at how tidy and neat his room is.
“Wow. His room is tidier than mine! Maybe I should clean my room more often... Nah, I’ll just have mum clean it. Wait, I’m dead, right? So, I don’t need to tidy my room anymore...” she said loudly, thinking nobody would hear her.
After she said that, Steven’s voice was heard, “I’m home!”
Riku jumped and went out of his room as fast as she can. Then she met Steven, looking like he was trying to suppress his laughter.
“Hey Riku, what are you doing there? Are you planning to steal my rare stones?” he said teasingly.
“No! Wait, you can see me? Ain’t I dead?”
“You? Dead? How? Well, if you’re dead, then it’s amazing at how I can see you.”
“So I’m not dead?”
“I don’t think so.”
“Really? Then why were you ignoring me before?”
“When?” he asked in a I-don’t-know-what-you’re-talking-about tone.
“Afternoon. After I slept. Remember?”
“Oh, weren’t you in the space center? You said it yourself, you wanted to go to the space center again.”
“Really? I said that? How come I don’t remember it?”
“I don’t know. Maybe your memory’s really small that you can’t even remember it.” He said the sentence quietly.
“What?”
“No, nothing...”
“What?”
“Nothing. Hey, Karen’s going to be here right? Can you cook? I’m tired.” he said then slumped to the sofa.
“Me? Cook? What do you think?”
“Well, I think you can’t cook with that shortness. But I know at the least you can cook one dish.”
“Nope. I can’t cook. I don’t like housework. But I can cook one dish, just as you said.”
“You don’t like housework, you mean like cleaning your bedroom?”
“Yea- Hey! How did you know that?!”
“Just guessing.”
“Well, how about you?! Can YOU cook?”
“Yes, I can. But I’m just too tired.”
“You can cook?!”
“Yeah yeah yeah. Just shut up. I wanna rest.” he said with a scary tone.
“Okay, okay.” Riku said, sounded annoyed even though she was a bit scared of him. ‘What happened to him? He never used that kind of tone to me or other people as far as I know (hoho). Where did he went anyway? Wait, am I concerned about him? Aarrgh! I can’t be thinking like this!!!’ Riku yelled in her head and smacked it.
So, Steven just slept on the sofa and Riku cooked dinner (don’t know how the food turned out though. I bet it’s horrible) for her and Karen, sensing Steven won’t wake up for dinner.
“Hey Riku. What did you cook?” Karen said surprising Riku.
Riku jumped a bit. “When did you come? I didn’t hear you coming.”
“I arrived here just a few seconds ago and maybe you’re deaf? I clearly knocked the door but nobody answered it so I just went inside (like a robber). Or, maybe you were spacing out?”
“I’m NOT deaf! And I wasn’t spacing out!”
“Okay, okay. I get it. So, what did you cook?”
“Humph. I made noodles. That’s the least I can make.” Riku replied grumpily.
“You mean you can’t cook? Puh!”
“Hey! So what if I can’t cook?”
“Nothing. Oh yeah, why did you make it only for two people? What about him?” Karen said as she pointed to Steven.
“I sensed that he wouldn’t wake up so I only made two.”
“Hoo... Well, anyway, let’s just eat. I’m starving.”
“Yeah, me too.”
And so, they ate the noodles leaving Steven sleeping (man, I wonder what he did! He was just laughing at dense Riku, right?) on the sofa.
“Hey, Karen. What are we gonna do now? Just leave ‘him’ behind and go to the next city in the darkness?”
“Don’t think so. We might as well stay here for the night and leave tomorrow morning.”
“Yeah. That would work.” ‘I think’
“Okay then. Let’s sleep. I’m dead tired.”
“What about the dishes? Aren’t we gonna clean them?” asked Riku worriedly.
“Nah, not me. You clean ‘em. I’m too tired.” was Karen’s reply.
“Oh, c’mon! I don’t want to clean them all by myself!”
“Sorry, I’m sooooo tired. Okay?”
Riku sighed as sign of defeat. “Okay, okay. You win. But next time, you do it.”
“Deal.” And with that, Karen fell asleep at once on the floor beside the sofa, on the carpet (damn! His house’s nicer than mine!).
Even though she cleaned the dishes half-heartedly, she finally finished it at 8.30. Then she went to sleep in front of the sofa because she was too tired (is she that weak?).

Riku Reiroku is a 13 year old girl who was born in Rustboro. She has the exact same hair and eye color as Steven. She HATES insects, reptiles, and slimy things (weirdo). When she was small, she met Steven once. But that one time is enough to make her like Steven. The story was like this,
Flashback
A 5-year-old girl with indigo hair fell down on that hard brick road outside the town. “Ouuuch... My ankle hurts...”
Then came another voice, “Hey kid. Want me to help you?”
“Of course! Do you think I can stand?! And, I’m NOT a kid!”
“Hehe... sorry, you just look so small. Here you go (he helped her stand). By the way, my name’s Steven. What’s yours?”
“Humph! My name is Riku. What are you doing here anyway? I thought all of the people here are all asleep.”
“Well, I guess I can say the same to you. Hehe...” He said with that evil grin.
“Wha-? You are soooooo irritating! I think I’m going to go now. Someone’s just ruined my mood.” ‘But he looks kinda cool... I think...’ thought Riku.
“So, you’re just gonna go away without saying thank you to your savior?”
‘Man! He’s using that evil, evil grin again!’ “Are you playing with me?”
“Do you really wanna know?” “Duh.”
“Well, the answer’s yes. Besides, don’t you like it when I’m playing with you? Hehehe...”
Riku blushed a bit. “Why you! You are REALLY REALLY irritating and you’re wasting my time!”
“I know. I like to irritate people, especially when they’re so small but still acting tough. Hehehe...”
“Huh? What do you- Hey! Are you talking about me?!”

Steven cut her off. “cute, handsome, and a gentleman also. Is that what you’re trying to say? Hmmm?”
Riku blushed, stopped for a second, and replied or, shouted, actually, “No! That’s NOT what I mean! And I would never ever say anything like that!”
“Hooo... Then, why did you blush and stop for a second? You would answer me right away if you didn’t mean it.” He said with that evil grin of his, again.
“Eer... Wh-what do you mean? I didn’t blush. And I do NOT blush just because of some stupid jerk!”
“Stupid jerk, huh? Well, this ‘stupid jerk’ helped you and now you’re giving me a bad nickname? And you didn’t even say thanks whatsoever!”
“And exactly WHY would I need to say thanks?”
“’Cause you asked for MY help and I helped you and now I’d have to help you again.”
“Why?”
“You can’t walk right? I have to take you home or would you prefer the hospital (is there even any hospital in this game?)?”
“Uuh... I’d prefer my home.”
“Okay then. Here, climb on my back. I’ll carry you until we reach your home.” (He said that with the nicest and I mean the nicest smile Riku ever saw.)
Riku blushed like a tomato and looked down to hide her face.
“What’s wrong? Are you sick or something? Or, are you starting to fall for me and you don’t want me to carry you? Hehehe...”

After that, they didn’t say anything to each other until...
“Hey, we reached your home already. Now, get off me.” Steven said with that bossy attitude of his.
“Okay okay. You don’t need to tell me. I wanted to get off anyway. Humph!”
(She got off him)
“Well, I guess this is goodbye. I’ll... see you... again? Maybe?” Riku said with all the courage she had.
“So now you’re going to miss me huh? Hehe... Maybe we’ll meet again. Someday...”
“Really?” Riku asked him VERY happily.
“Hey, no need to be that happy. I just said maybe. Don’t keep your hopes up. Hehehe... Now, you just go inside your house and from now on, train hard to be a Pokemon trainer. ‘Kay?”
“Okay! I promise I’ll be a strong trainer!”
“Now that’s a good kid. Hehehe... Bye now.”

It has been years since Riku met Steven and now she’s 13 but she never forgot about him. In fact, she’s always been thinking about him ever since he left but she doesn’t remember his face nor his name. (hohohoho...) Right now, she already got her starter Pokemon, Mudkip and also, she’s traveling around Hoenn. But what she is REALLY doing right now is running away from a herd of Beedrills. While she was running, she saw a certain blue haired Pokemon trainer with a Pikachu on her shoulder.
“Hey! You’re a Pokemon trainer right? Can you please help me make these Beedrills faint?” shouted Riku.
But that girl (the Poke trainer) didn’t help her. Instead, she ran away too with that frightened look on her face. Then she shouted, “For now, run away first! I’ll make them faint when the time is right! Follow me!”
Of course, with nowhere to run, Riku just followed her. Then she looked back and saw that the Beedrills are catching up with them.
“Hey! They’re catching up with us! We’re barely 10 meters away from them!”
“Really? Okay then. Now stop and face them!” She turned around and faced the Beedrills.
“Pikachu, thundershock!”
“PI-KA-CHUU!!!” Then, the Beedrills fainted.
“Wow, that was awesome! What’s your name? I’m Riku Reiroku from Rustboro City in Hoenn and I’m currently traveling around Hoenn.”
“Thanks. I’m Karen from Blackthorn City in Johto and I’m trying to be a greater Pokemon trainer than my sister, Claire. She’s a gym leader.”
“WOW! Your sister’s a gym leader?! No wonder you’re so good! Hey, why don’t we travel together?”
“Yeah, that seems like a good idea. By the way, how old are you? 10?”
“Hey! I know I’m short but I am NOT 10! I am 13 years old already! How old are YOU?”
“Sorry, didn’t know. I’m 14. Say, where are you going from here?”
“I’m going to Petalburg City.”
“Hey, I’m going there too. What do want to do there?”
“I don’t know. I want to go to the gym but they say that you have to collect 4 gym badges from other cities first then you can challenge the gym there. They say the leader’s really tough.”
“Wow, you know a lot about the city huh?”
“Yeah, I kinda studied the cities first a bit so at least I know something about this and that city.” Riku said proudly.

“Oh. The mart’s over there. What do you want to buy anyway?”
“It’s a secret. Well, I’m off to the mart. Go wherever you want and we’ll meet in front of the Poke center in 1 hour. Okay?”
“Okay.” ‘What does she want to buy anyway? There’s nothing here!’

“Hey! Riku, I’m over here!”
“WHAT did you buy?! How much money do you actually have?! I’ve never even seen anybody buy 3 boxes of something IN a MART!”
“Oh, these? They’re just... something.”
“Whatever. Now let’s just go to the next town shall we? I’m bored already.”
“Okay, okay. What’s the next town?”
“Rustboro City.”
“Hey, isn’t that your-”
“Yeah, my hometown. So?”
“So, we’re gonna meet your parents then?”
“Don’t know. Maybe we’ll meet them maybe we won’t.”

“Hey, Riku, are you scared of insects and bugs?”
“Yeah, but not only that. I’m scared of reptiles and slimy things too.”
“Really? But there are also bugs or insects that are cute you know.”
“What?! You think they’re CUTE?! Those... those... horrible insects... You call them cute?!”
“Okay, okay. I understand. Now, let’s just look around the city. Okay?”
“(Sigh) Okay. Can we go to the gym? I want to battle Roxanne.”
So, Riku won from Roxanne and now she’s walking around Rustboro. Then, she went to the Devon Corp.’s building and met the president director (what for? don’t know).
~In the President’s office~
“Are you a Pokemon trainer? I want to ask you if you could deliver this letter to a person named Steven Stone and the Devon goods to Capt. Stern in Slateport City. But I want you to have this Pokenav. This device can help a lot when you travel.”
“Yes, I am. And, thank you for the device. I appreciate it. I will go now.”
~Dewford City~
“Hey Karen, what do you want to do?”
“Mart! Then, I don’t know. Up to you.”
“Haaah... can we go to the mart later? I want to defeat Brawly, the gym leader, get the badge, and use Flash inside that cave. I want to explore it. And, we have a letter to deliver to that Steven guy.” ‘I think I know the name Steven somewhere... but I’ve never met him. Have I?’
“Buuu... Okay then.”
Of course, Riku defeated Brawly (with ease? Don’t know. Who cares anyway?) and got the badge she needed to use Flash. Now, she’s in Granite Cave without Karen. She REALLY wanted to go to the mart (?) so Riku was left to explore the cave herself. And then, she got into the edge of the cave (this is where the interesting part begins hehehe...).
~Granite Cave~
‘I think I’m in the edge of this huge cave. Hmm? Who’s there? Hey, that Indigo hair... I think I know a person with that hair color... But who? Maybe if I get closer I’d know who he really is...’ thought Riku while walking towards that person.
And that person (which is Steven of course) turned to see who was walking his way. He then saw a small girl (in his opinion) with the exact same hair and eye color as his. ‘Who is she? No, have I met her before? I know those Indigo eyes somewhere...’ He asked, “Who are you? A kid like you shouldn’t be wandering around this cave. Are you lost?”
‘Hey, now I really think I know this person. No one’s ever called me a kid so easily before. Except... him...’
“He-llo?” Steven asked again, “Are you there? Hey!”
“Uuh... Huh? Oh, what did you say again?”
“Eerm... Who. Are. You?”
“Oh. My name’s Riku Reiroku. Have we met before?”
“I don’t know. I wanted to ask you that too. So, what are you doing here?”
“I came here to explore the cave. By the way, do you know a person called Steven Stone? I wanted to deliver a letter for him.”
“Why, I am Steven. There’s a letter for me? Who’s it from?”
“The president director of Devon Corp. Do you... by any chance know him?”
“Of course! I’m his son. Ok, back to the question, have we met before?”
“I think so. You look like a person I somehow know. That Indigo hair of yours... Were you in Rustboro in the middle of the night 8 years ago?”
“Yes, I was. How did you know that?”
“Eerm... 8 years ago, in the middle of the night, I met a person who looks like you but I don’t really remember his face. It was too dark.”
“Yeah, I remembered that too. So, you’re that mini Riku huh? No wonder, you still look so small. You know, you look like a 10 year old girl. Hehehe...”
“What! I AM 13 YEARS OLD! And-”
“And? You want to say that you’re not small? You have to admit it you know, you ARE small.”
“Hey! You were polite just now! Now that you remembered me you won’t be polite huh?!”
“Yeah, how’d you know that? And are you a great Pokemon trainer already?”
“Of course! I already defeated 2 gym leaders!”
“That’s all? Even a rookie who tries hard can do that. Hehehe...”
“What! Are you mocking me?! And what about you? Do you even have ANY badges from all the gyms?” ‘Hehehe... I bet he doesn’t’
“In fact, I DO have all the badges. And try not to make a bet with yourself. It’ll make you feel more embarrassed. Hehehe...”
“What?!! How could a person like you have all the badges?! And how did you know-”
“That you made a bet with yourself? It’s easy. It’s written all over your face. Actually, you’re almost like a book. Hehehe...” Steven cut her off with an evil grin plastering his face.
“Why you damn-! Humph!”
“Hehehe... Do you know that you look so funny like that? Hahahahahahaha...”
He continued to laugh at Riku for another minute while her face was red. (poor Riku... But again, who cares?)
“Hey! Stop laughing you stupid jerk!”
“-hahahaha... That was a good laugh I had. You know, you can really be a joker you know.”
“I don’t want to be a joker!”
“Okay then. How about you become a joker for ME?”
“WHO the hell would want to be a joker for you?!”
“Actually, I have quite a lot of fans not only in Hoenn but also in Johto and Kanto. They would be pleased to be a joker for me. But I think you’re the best joker for ME.”
At this point, Riku was blushing a bit. She was never called the ‘best’ in any category.
“I would never be a joker for YOU!”
“Why, that’s a bit disappointing. Well, I have to go now. And here, I’ll give you one of my escape ropes. It’ll help you get out of the cave quickly.” He said that with a warm smile (can you imagine the smile?).
Riku blushed, again. “Th-thanks. Wait, are you going already?”
“What, you would miss me would you? Hehehe...”
“N-no! Why would I? I just wanted to ask you what you were doing here...” Riku looked down while saying this.
“Oh, that? I was searching for rare stones. And because you’d miss me, I think I’ll give you what I got from somebody I know. I don’t need it.”
After saying that, he took out a pair of black and purple gloves and gave it to her.
“Wow! Black and purple are my favorite colors! Thanks!” She then gave him a smile. (at last!)
“Yeah, I know. You’re wearing black purple clothes too. I can see it. You really are not feminine are you?”
“No, I’m not feminine. Is there something wrong being tomboy?” Riku snapped.
“Yes, I think if you ARE feminine, you would look so much cuter than you are now. Oh, I’ve got to go. Bye!”
Riku blushed like a tomato. ‘He thinks I’m cute? Hehehe... the first time a person ever called me cute... Hey, wait. He’s gone. Damn! He ran away just like that! Grrrh!”

“It’s a secret. Anyway, why did you say ‘Steven’? I thought you used to call this ‘Steven’ guy ‘that person’ or ‘the person’. Did something interesting happen? Hehehe...”
“No! Well, unfortunately, he was someone I met 8 years ago and it’s easier to call him with his name.”
“Oooooh... I thought ‘something’ interesting happened. Hey, where did those gloves come from? Did he gave it to you?”
“Yeah, he did. He said he doesn’t need it. So he gave it to me. Wait, if he gave it to me that means... not used gloves+given to me=I’m his trash bin?!”
“Maybe. Well, anyway, now that we’re done with this city, where are we going next?”
“Slateport. I need to deliver this Devon Goods thingy to that Capt. Stern guy. Then we go to Mauville to challenge the gym. Then, maybe we can go to Verdanturf. I heard there were good Poke contests there.”
“Really?!”
“Yeah, but you have to have a contest pass that you can get at Fallarbor to enter. I heard there were Poke contests there too.”
“Oooooh... Then come on! Let’s make these things quick! I want to go to Fallarbor City!”
“Okay, okay. You don’t have to drag me. We ARE going there anyway.”
Then, Riku went to Slateport, Mauville, defeated the gym, and so on and so on until Riku got the fifth gym badge which can help her use surf blah blah blah. Now, she is at the edge of Mauville and trying to cross the river to Route 119. After she arrived at Route 119...
~Route 119 (Riku is alone because Karen is at the casino and said that they’re going to meet up at Fortree City later)~
‘Hey, what’s that? Is that bush moving?’ ‘Srek, srek’
“Hey ya Riku! What are you doing here? Puh! Hahahahaha!” Said Steven who just jumped out from the bush. He was laughing at Riku who was SO frightened and surprised and looking so pale.
“-hahahahaha... Did I frighten you? Hehehe... Look at your face! You really are the best in making me laugh Riku!”
After regaining her face color back, she said, “Stop laughing at me! It’s your fault you just jumped out like that!”
But he was still laughing, of course (I mean, who wouldn’t?).
“S-sorry, hehehe, I just can’t stop laughing. It’s just that you were so funny with that shocked look and now you’re still funny with that red face. Hehehe...”
“Humph! What are you doing here anyway?”
“I can say the same to you. What are YOU doing here?”
“I’m going to Fortree to fight Winonna. Duh.”
“So, you’ve only got five badges? Well, that’s a kind of slow. You won 3 badges in 3 weeks. How slow.”

“I don’t know. I guess I just got lucky. Oh yeah, I got you a Mudkip plush doll. Here, keep it safe. And, our next city is... uum... Lilycove, isn’t it?”
“Thanks. And yeah, the next city’s Lilycove. We have to go there from Route120.”

“I have my own reasons to be here, Riku. Why are you asking that, Riku? Have you fallen for me? Hehehe... And, why are you trying to be monster again?”
“Uuuurrrgghhh! I will NEVER fall for you, stupid jerk! And I am NOT trying to be a monster!”
“Really? Well well well, who do we have here? Is she your friend, Riku?”
“Oh, I’m Karen from Johto. You are, I suppose, Steven Stone, correct?”
“Yes, I am. Which part of Johto did you come from?”
“I came from Blackthorn. My sister is the gym leader there.” Karen said proudly.
“Oh, you’re Claire’s sister? Can you say hi to her when you meet her? Is she still very emotional?”
“Yes, I am and I will say hi to her for you. And she is more emotional than ever ever since a guy called Brendan defeated her with ease.”
“Oh, then maybe you can just forget what I asked you. She would be mad if she hears something about me.”
“Okay. By the way, how do you know my sister? You’re from Hoenn, right?”
“Well, I didn’t just defeat the gyms here in Hoenn but also in Johto and Kanto. I thought it just wasn’t enough to defeat gym leaders only in Hoenn, so I traveled around Johto and Kanto too.”
“Wow.” said Riku and Karen in unison.
“Eerm... so, have you defeated the champion and the Elite Four?” asked Karen.
“Yes, I have. The champion was very annoying so I was just thinking about how to defeat the narcist champion.”
“The champion’s narcist?!” asked Riku while she stared in disbelief.
“Not only him. The eighth gym leader from Sootopolis, Wyverie, (Note: in this story, Sootopolis gym have already a new gym leader!) is also a narcist. From what I’ve heard, Wyverie really likes Wallace, the champion. They’re a perfect couple I say. Two narcissists became a couple, that’s not weird.”
“What?! So there are 2 really narcist people I have to defeat?! Oh man...” said Riku (disappointed?).
“Yes, there are.”
“Eerm... Steven? How do you know so much about Hoenn, Johto, and Kanto? How long have you been traveling?” asked Karen.
“Well, I went traveling when I was 12. So, yeah, I’ve been traveling for about 5 years already. Actually, I finished my traveling in those 3 continents 3 years ago. So, I traveled for 2 years.”
“Then what are you currently doing?”
“I’m just going over from this place to another to find rare stones. Just in Hoenn, of course. It would take a long time to find stones in Johto and Kanto.”
“Oh. And, Steven? I believe you have met Riku before 8 years ago, right?”
“Yes, I have. Is there anything you want to ask?”
Karen went to him and whispered, “Was Riku small like this too when she was five?”
He whispered back, “Yes, she was. She was as small as a 3 year old girl.”
“Hey, I heard that!” said Riku with an angry (but it’s funny too) face.
“Oh, sorry, Riku. Can’t help it. Hehehe…” Said Karen.
“Humph! Are you guys planning to mock me?”
“Nu uh. Not me.” Said Karen with a sorry face.
“Me? Yes, I am planning to mock you.”
“Why you-you-you stupid jerk!”
“Me? Stupid? I don’t think so. I remembered when they tested my IQ they said I got a really high IQ.”

“What?! Me? I-I only got eh… 139… Hehehe… Oh yeah, how high are you, Karen?”

“Whhhhyyyy????” Riku was very down for a while. Then her head snapped back up.
“How many instruments can you guys play? I can play the piano you know!” said Riku happily.
“I can play the piano and the recorder. How about you, Steven?”
“I play the piano, the violin, the flute, and the recorder.”
“What?! How can you play so many instruments?!”
“Well, my father made me learn all of those instruments when I was 5. And, I am a genius anyway.”
“What?! You’re becoming narcist!”
“What do you think a person with 170 IQ is? A stupid person? I don’t think so. They call it genius, right?”
“Uuurgh…”
“Oh yeah, I remembered that you couldn’t pass the Kecleon barrier, right? So, I’m gonna give you this.”
“What is this?” said Karen, curious.
“A Devon scope. It’ll help you, a lot.”
“Thanks. This’ll definitely help us.” said Karen.
“Oh, look at the time! I HAVE to go NOW. Bye! It’s very nice to meet you, Karen!”

“So, Riku. He is your lover boy, right?” said Karen calmly although she was still laughing in the inside.

“No, I don’t think so.”

“Because, I just like to tease you. Got a problem with that?”
“Yes! I have a VERY big problem with that!”
“Why would you? You two look good together and besides, you looked happy when you were quarreling with him.”
“I did NOT look happy!!!!!! And I DON”T like him!!!!”
“Okay, okay. Chill, girl. I won’t do it again.”

Karen stooped dead in her track. Her face was indescribable. It’s both shocked and VERY angry. Riku was REALLY frightened. She never saw Karen like this.
“Hey, Karen? What’s wro-”
“SETH! WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU DOING HERE?!” screamed Karen.
The guy called Seth then turned around to see the very angry Karen.
“Karen! What are you doing here?” he said as if he doesn’t care about her being angry.
“I asked you first! Now answer me!”
“Okay, okay. Just chill, okay? I went here to explore Hoenn, of course. Also, your sister asked me to find you. I already said I didn’t want to though. So she said she’ll just wait until you come back. Now you answer my question. What are you doing here?”
“I’m here for the contest, of course, you jackass!”
“Whoa, what happened to you, girl? Oh, you got a kid with you? How unusual…”
“Hey! I am NOT a kid! I’m 13 years old, ya know!” said a now angry Riku.
“Oh, sorry. The name’s Seth. I’m from Blackthorn too. I’m a strong Pokémon trainer ya know. Hehehe… I’ve battled lots of strong trainers in my journey.”
“So, you know Steven Stone? I heard he was very strong.” asked Riku out of the blue.
“Yeah, he was the only trainer that I couldn’t defeat from all the other ones.”
“He beat you?! Then, he really IS strong. Wow.” said Karen with disbelief.
“What? Is this guy THAT strong?” said Riku.
“Yeah, I am THAT strong. But that Steven guy, he defeated me in merely 5 minutes with ONE Pokémon ONLY. Though, he said I’m strong enough to be a gym leader. Hehehe…”
“5 MINUTES?! ONLY 5 MINUTES WITH ONE Pokémon! That. Is. Unbelievable. He’s damn strong, Riku. I think you really should be happy.”
“Why?” said Riku although she could already figure out the answer.
“Yeah, why? And I wanna know why you suddenly asked about Steven, Riku.” said Seth with curiousness.
“Can’t you even notice it, Seth? She’s his ‘girlfriend-to-be’! And Riku, you should be happy that your ‘boyfriend-to-be’ is VERY strong. Hehehe…”
“Why you, Karen!!!!! You said you’re not going to say anything about that again!”
“WHAT?! This… this… shorty is his ‘girlfriend-to-be’?!! Are you joking?!” said Seth with disbelief at the same time Riku answered Karen.
“I am NOT a shorty and I am NOT his girlfriend-to-be!!!! And Karen! Answer me, right now!” shouted Riku.

By now, of course people are already looking at the interesting ‘show’. But, the three just didn’t care, or, to be exact, didn’t know that people are watching them. --;

“Okay, okay. Well, when I said I wasn’t going to tease you again, I didn’t say for how long, right? So it’s your own fault for not noticing that.”
“Uuurrrgh! You are becoming like ‘him’, Karen! Why are you like this? Why are ALL of you like this? Hiks…”
Then Riku went to a dark corner and squatted there like a miserable person.
“What’s wrong with her?”
“Well, it’s just that me and Steven just liked to tease her so much I think that’s the reason.”
“What? So you know Steven?”
“Not me, her. She met him 8 years ago and they still remember each other.”
“Wow, I’m sure she REALLY is gonna be his girlfriend. Do you?”
“100%. And remember Seth, I’m NOT gonna lose in this battle!”
“No, I think I’d rather forget about it.”
“Seth!”
“What?”
“Just remember about it! Riku, let’s go, NOW.”
“Hiks… okay.” Then Riku stood up from the dark corner and started to walk at Karen’s direction.
~After they’re out~
“So, Karen, is he your lover boy?”
“Why would he be?” snapped Karen.
“You looked so close. What’s your relation with him, anyway?”
“He’s my childhood- no, he’s my rival. We’ve just been fighting and quarreling ever since we met.” Karen said with a VERY dangerous tone.
“Oh. Karen, do you know that this city has the biggest department store in all of Hoenn?” said Riku all of a sudden trying to change the subject, scared Karen would be angrier.
“Really? Where is it? Where is it?” said Karen with stars in her eyes.
“U-uh… it’s over those steps I think…”
“Okay then, I’m off to the department store. Bye-bye!”
‘Phew. Her mood changes so quickly. Good thing I remembered there was a department store here. I could’ve been dead if I didn’t say that.’
~2 Hours later~
“Karen, what did you buy?!” Riku said in shock because she saw Karen bringing 10 shopping bags.
“Oh, just some stuff. Did you wait long?”
“VERY long. I just don’t believe any person could buy that MANY things in a department store!”
“Ehehe… The things in there just made me want to buy ‘em all.”
“(sigh) Whatever. Let’s just go to Mosdeep, the next city.”
“Wait!”
“What?”
“What about my contest?”
“Oh, right. Why don’t you just go and win the contest while I watch you?”
“Okay!”
So, Karen won the contest with Seth as her opponent and they went to Mossdeep.
~Mossdeep~
“Here we are, the continent’s most beautiful city. I heard the gym leaders are twins called Tate and Liza. They’re using Psychic moves and they’re younger than us. Amazing, ne?” said Riku just like a tour guide.
“Yeah, they are. In such a young age, gym leaders… Cool. Well I’m off to the mart. Bye.”
Riku muttered to herself, “I wish I could-”
Riku was cut off by a person running while shouting, “Team Magma! Team Magma’s back! They’re in the space center!”
“What? Team Magma’s in the space center? Wait, there’s a space center here? How come nobody told me? Oh well, this is no time to be asking this. I’ve got to get Karen. No, it’ll take too long. Aaargh! I’ll just go by myself!”
~Space Center~
‘These guys are tougher than before! What happened to ‘em? Hey, there’s that stupid jerk! What is HE doing here? Ah well, I need help! I guess I should just ask him, even though I don’t really want his help, these guys are tough!’
“Hey, stupid jerk! Hey!” Riku shouted at the ‘stupid jerk’.
He didn’t budge (duh).
“Hey, Steven!” He then turned around, “What? Need my help, little girl?”
“Uuurgh! I don’t want to, but just help me, will ya?”
He looked down for a while like he was thinking of something. Then an evil grin spread across his face. Riku was frightened by what he would do…
“Okay, but you have to repay me later. Deal?”
“Okay, okay! Whatever! Just help me here, NOW!”
~5 minutes later~
“Now you’re going to have to admit I am strong, right? Hehehe…”
“Okay, I admit it. You’re strong.”
“Only that? Are you sure?”
“Yes, only that.”
“Okay then. Well, now you have to pay me.”
(sigh) Riku took out her wallet.
“How much do you want?”
“I don’t need money. I’m rich anyways.”
“Uuurgh! What do you want then?”
“Well, I want your face to be red. But you can’t just make your face go red, right? So, you should just give me a kiss. Hehehe…” (he’s SO making it longer!)
“A-a kiss?!” Riku’s face went red all of a sudden.
“On the cheek, of course. But if you want to kiss me that bad, it’s up to you. Hehehe…”
“What?! Of course I would never kiss you on-on-on th-the…”
“Okay, okay. Just get on with it. Hehehe...”
“Uuuurgggghhhh!”
‘Whhhhhyyyyyy me????? But, I have to repay him. He helped me more than twice already.’ thought Riku.
After gaining ALL (I’m not joking, and it took about 1 minute until she was brave enough!) her courage, she thought she’s ready. So, “Steven,” she said with a nervous tone, “can you lean down a bit? I can’t reach you if you don’t.” “Okay.” He replied with that trademark smirk still plastering his face.
‘He’s enjoying this (aren’t we all too?)! Uuurggghhhh!’
Then, finally, Riku stood on her tiptoes (she still can’t reach him) and kissed Steven’s cheek when...
“Riku, that was sooooooooo KAAAAWAAAIIII!!!!!” screamed Karen who just got there.
Riku then backed off as quickly as possible with her face red as a tomato (fufufufu...).
“Karen! You saw it?! Please don’t tell anybody! Please! I’m begging you!” Riku pleaded while Steven was just smirking evilly.
“Ohohohohohohoho... Of course I saw it, my dear Riku! And I WILL tell EVERYBODY! Ohohohohoho...” Karen then just laughed a very evil laugh.
‘She’s scarier than my mum! Note to self : don’t ever discuss about ‘him’ again in front of her! And, evil is another side of her. I have to be careful from now on.’ thought Riku with a scared face.
“Oh, Karen! Please don’t tell anybody! Come on! Then I’ll treat you with ice cream for one week! Please?”
Karen stopped laughing and thought for a while. “I... don’t know...”
“Come on, pretty please?”
“...”
“Pretty please with a cherry on top?”
“... Okay, but make it a month.”
“Deal. Now you.” she said with a dangerous tone, “Do NOT ever tell people anything about this! I don’t want this to be discussed again! Understand, Steven?”
“Why should I? I can tell anybody I want. I didn’t kiss you. You kissed me, right?” he replied lightly as if not caring about the dangerous tone she used.
“YOU asked for it! I didn’t want to kiss you at the first place! Who would?!”
“Many girls I’ve met wanted to be my girlfriend, don’t you know it?”
“Like who? I’ve never met one.”
“You know that fan club house thingy in Dewford? They all gather there.”
“Oh. Well, just DON’T tell anybody!”
“Okay.” he said then whispered to Karen, “not yet.”
Then both of them laughed evil laughs (in Steven’s case, still gracefully).
‘Urgh. I think something bad is gonna happen to me. I just don’t know what it is!’ thought Riku. (she’s seriously dense!!!)
“Well, I’m off to my house, it’s in the edge of the town behind the big tree. Come whenever you want. Bye!”
After Steven’s gone...
“Karen, forget about what happened and act normally, can you? Please?”
“Sorry, I can’t.”
“Whhhhhhhyyyyyy?????”
“Because it was just sooooo CUTE!”
“Urgh! (Riku fell anime style) Come on!”
“Sorry, Riku. No can do.”
“Okay, okay. I give up. Let’s just explore the space center, okay?”
“Okay!” said a VERY happy Karen.
~After from the Space Center~
“The space center was so cool! Don’t you think so, Karen?”
“Nope. I think it was a kind of boring. What do you like there, anyway?”
“The technology was so awesome!”
“Really?”
“Duh.”
“Well anyways, where are we going now?”
“The gym, duh!”
“What about we go to ‘his’ house first?”
“Why?”
“I know you’re curious about his house.”
“Urgh!”
“So, we going there?”
“Yeah, yeah, yeah. Whatever.”
“Where was his house again?” ‘Hehehe... I’m pretty sure she remembered his house correctly.’ thought Karen.
“It’s just at the edge of the town behind the big tree, right?”
“Hee... I didn’t know you still remembered it correctly... Hehehe...”
“Urgh! I fell into your trap, again!”
“Yep, you did. Now let’s go.”
“Okay, okay.”
~Steven’s House~
‘knock knock’
“Yes?”
“Hey ya Steven! Riku said that she REALLY SERIOUSLY wanted to meet you so I was dragged by her here.” said Karen with a smirk.
“Hey! I did NOT say that! When did I say that?!”
“In the space center. Don’t tell me you forgot about that.”
“In fact, I had already forgotten about it.”
“What a shame.” said Steven, quietly.
“What did you just say?” asked Riku curiously.
“Nothing.”
“Really?”
“What? Did you really miss me already?”
“No way never!”
“Oh.”
“So, are you going to let us in or what?” said Karen bossily while she winked at Steven.
“Yes, I’m very sorry Madame and mademoiselle.” said Steven politely, not forgetting to wink back at Karen.
“What happened to you? And why do you suddenly use French?” asked Riku.
“What, you’re curious about me?”
“No!”
“What a nice and neat house you got here Steven.” said Karen suddenly cutting off the conversation.
“Thank you.”
“You’re welcome.”
“What?! Why are you guys suddenly using polite words?!”
“What do you mean about that, Riku?” answered Karen, politely.
“I meant, wait, you should know what I mean! Are you guys playing with me?!”
“We are not playing with you, Riku.” Steven replied.
“Then why are you using polite words?!”
“What do you mean by that, Riku? We have always talked like this.” said Karen politely.
“No! He’s always using impolite words!”
“Such as?” Steven snapped.
“Such as uuuhhh... uuuhh...”
“See? I have never used any impolite words. Karen, do you think something is wrong with her?”
“Yes, I think so too. Maybe she is just too tired that it affected her memory.”
“Yes, I think we should just make her lay down a bit.”
“Ok. Riku, please lay down on this sofa. After you lay down I’m sure your memory will be back.”
“Uuuuhhh... o-okay.”
After she went to sleep, Karen and Steven went outside and burst out laughing really hard.
“Hahahaha... She-she just believed in our act! Hahahaha... I really think she is dense! Hehehehe... Don’t you think so, Karen?”
“Hahahaha... Yeah, I still can’t believe she just believed in our act! Hahahaha... You know, when I saw that confused look of hers, I was already laughing in the inside! Hahahaha...”
“Hehehe... Me too! Her face was just so funny! Hahahaha...”
The two just kept on laughing until about 10 minutes later they managed to stop although Karen was still giggling. After they managed to stop laughing COMPLETELY, they went inside the house just to find Riku, sleeping soundly like a log.
“Sheesh, she’s just sleeping like a log even though we laughed so hard! What’s wrong with her? Did she sleep enough, Karen?”
“Don’t know. She’s always like this. I don’t even know how to wake this “log” (remember, she IS sleeping like a log) up! I just wait for her until she wakes up.”
“And, how much time does it cost?”
“A LONG time. You’ll be tired when she wakes up.”
“Well, then I’ll just find something to do.”
“Okay. And oh yeah, what are we going to do when she wakes up?”
“Hmmm...”
“Oh! I got it! How about if we...”
“Good idea!”
So, after 2 long hours (man, I wonder how tired Riku is!), Riku FINALLY woke up. She then saw Steven and Karen talking about “something” and she doesn’t like it.
“Hey, guys!” Riku said.
They didn’t budge.
“Hey! Can you guys hear me?”
Nothing.
“Hello! Earth to Karen and Steven!”
Still nothing.
Because she is a like a kid (duh), she then went to Karen and shook her. Karen looked around and...
“Hey, Steven, does your house have a GHOST?”
Riku shivered and jumped a bit when Karen said “ghost” (ha! Scaredy-cat!).
“What’s the matter?” Steven replied.
“Well, “something” shook me. And I felt a bit cold when “that thing” did.
Riku froze. ‘I’m dead? Me? Dead? What happened?! Why can’t I remember a thing about it?! Oh man! I’m soooo dead! Wait, I AM dead. So, why should I be afraid of death?’
While Riku was thinking, Steven who can read her just like a book wanted to laugh HARD. ‘Puh! Look at her face! This is the best! Oh man, I don’t think I can stand this.’
Karen who was looking at his wanting-to-laugh-hard face then turned around and saw Riku’s REALLY funny face. Then she looked like she wanted to burst out laughing right there.
Steven suddenly said, “Karen, I need to go somewhere. I’ll come back later.”
“Okay. I need to find something in the mart too. So, we’ll see each other again?”
“Okay. Hey, how about you eat here?”
“Thanks, I’ll come back for dinner.”
“Okay.”
After the two went out, they laughed REALLY HARD without “the ghost” looking at them.
And so, Riku didn’t have anything to do. So, she just waited at Steven’s house and explored it.
“Wow, he’s got really rare stones with him. Hmmm? Is this his room?”
Riku peeked and was amazed at how tidy and neat his room is.
“Wow. His room is tidier than mine! Maybe I should clean my room more often... Nah, I’ll just have mum clean it. Wait, I’m dead, right? So, I don’t need to tidy my room anymore...” she said loudly, thinking nobody would hear her.
After she said that, Steven’s voice was heard, “I’m home!”
Riku jumped and went out of his room as fast as she can. Then she met Steven, looking like he was trying to suppress his laughter.
“Hey Riku, what are you doing there? Are you planning to steal my rare stones?” he said teasingly.
“No! Wait, you can see me? Ain’t I dead?”
“You? Dead? How? Well, if you’re dead, then it’s amazing at how I can see you.”
“So I’m not dead?”
“I don’t think so.”
“Really? Then why were you ignoring me before?”
“When?” he asked in a I-don’t-know-what-you’re-talking-about tone.
“Afternoon. After I slept. Remember?”
“Oh, weren’t you in the space center? You said it yourself, you wanted to go to the space center again.”
“Really? I said that? How come I don’t remember it?”
“I don’t know. Maybe your memory’s really small that you can’t even remember it.” He said the sentence quietly.
“What?”
“No, nothing...”
“What?”
“Nothing. Hey, Karen’s going to be here right? Can you cook? I’m tired.” he said then slumped to the sofa.
“Me? Cook? What do you think?”
“Well, I think you can’t cook with that shortness. But I know at the least you can cook one dish.”
“Nope. I can’t cook. I don’t like housework. But I can cook one dish, just as you said.”
“You don’t like housework, you mean like cleaning your bedroom?”
“Yea- Hey! How did you know that?!”
“Just guessing.”
“Well, how about you?! Can YOU cook?”
“Yes, I can. But I’m just too tired.”
“You can cook?!”
“Yeah yeah yeah. Just shut up. I wanna rest.” he said with a scary tone.
“Okay, okay.” Riku said, sounded annoyed even though she was a bit scared of him. ‘What happened to him? He never used that kind of tone to me or other people as far as I know (hoho). Where did he went anyway? Wait, am I concerned about him? Aarrgh! I can’t be thinking like this!!!’ Riku yelled in her head and smacked it.
So, Steven just slept on the sofa and Riku cooked dinner (don’t know how the food turned out though. I bet it’s horrible) for her and Karen, sensing Steven won’t wake up for dinner.
“Hey Riku. What did you cook?” Karen said surprising Riku.
Riku jumped a bit. “When did you come? I didn’t hear you coming.”
“I arrived here just a few seconds ago and maybe you’re deaf? I clearly knocked the door but nobody answered it so I just went inside (like a robber). Or, maybe you were spacing out?”
“I’m NOT deaf! And I wasn’t spacing out!”
“Okay, okay. I get it. So, what did you cook?”
“Humph. I made noodles. That’s the least I can make.” Riku replied grumpily.
“You mean you can’t cook? Puh!”
“Hey! So what if I can’t cook?”
“Nothing. Oh yeah, why did you make it only for two people? What about him?” Karen said as she pointed to Steven.
“I sensed that he wouldn’t wake up so I only made two.”
“Hoo... Well, anyway, let’s just eat. I’m starving.”
“Yeah, me too.”
And so, they ate the noodles leaving Steven sleeping (man, I wonder what he did! He was just laughing at dense Riku, right?) on the sofa.
“Hey, Karen. What are we gonna do now? Just leave ‘him’ behind and go to the next city in the darkness?”
“Don’t think so. We might as well stay here for the night and leave tomorrow morning.”
“Yeah. That would work.” ‘I think’
“Okay then. Let’s sleep. I’m dead tired.”
“What about the dishes? Aren’t we gonna clean them?” asked Riku worriedly.
“Nah, not me. You clean ‘em. I’m too tired.” was Karen’s reply.
“Oh, c’mon! I don’t want to clean them all by myself!”
“Sorry, I’m sooooo tired. Okay?”
Riku sighed as sign of defeat. “Okay, okay. You win. But next time, you do it.”
“Deal.” And with that, Karen fell asleep at once on the floor beside the sofa, on the carpet (damn! His house’s nicer than mine!).
Even though she cleaned the dishes half-heartedly, she finally finished it at 8.30. Then she went to sleep in front of the sofa because she was too tired (is she that weak?).
