strange characters appear in the deoxys movie

Hi everyone

Did anyone else notice the two strange characters that popped up a few times in the deoxys movie?

One was a sea captain with shades, the other a guy with a feathered boa.

Just wondered if anyone knew who they were. I've made some screen shots below for your viewing pleasure.

Wrong.

They're Kaba-chan and Eraiver, from Suukan Pokemon Hosouryokou.
 
And Eriver (correct way to spell his name, though it's kinda sad that I know that) is obviously a chaffeur, not a sea captain.

You mean the same Kaba-chan who did the Pokemon Ierukana 2004?
Gosh, not only does he sound flamboyant but he looks it too!
... too bad bulbapedia doesn't have an article on him. Same with Imakuni.

well at first glance he looked like a sea captain, sorry

now that you mention though he does look like a chauffer

so names aside, who are they? i'm not sure what these shows are you mentioned
 
Pokemon Hoso is the Japanese Pokemon Chronicles. Kind of. But with live-action segments and the episodes and reruns and clip-shows and episodes with animated specials are hosted by Kasumi and Takeshi, unless it's a Rocket Gang special, in which case Kojiro and Musashi also host/introduce... Pretty much.

Eriver? I always spelt it Arriver.

By the way his name is originally spelt エライバー, romanized spelling is ambiguous.
 
The introduction to the dodgeball segments have his name written in roman letters. As Eriver. Yes.
