Hey guys first post here. I don't find the similiar thread so lets get started!
Rules:
1. I will post results each day( I need research so be patient). For this case I will post a situation which you can be a playable character battling with trainers, gym leaders, E4s, and lastly the champions with their own pokemon to be battled with.

2. I will picturize the situation where your pokemon and the opponent only have one or left with one pokemon each. Then I will feature the moves you will use, some of them are effective but not always can be usable for battle so choose wisely, if you right then the pokemon will smile at you, choose wrong and you'll be history of pokemons.

3. The code for the trainers are:
a. TB: REGULAR TRAINERS
b. GB: GYM LEADERS
c. EB: ELITE 4
d. CB: CHAMPION.

4. Potions, Antidotes, and other status healers are illegal so don't expect if I post the critical situation battle. This also applies on Ethers and Elixirs.

That's it for the rules so here is the first battle:

Code: TR
Opponent party: Bulbasaur
Move: Tackle and Growl
HP: 10
Your pokemon: Charizard
HP: 9 CRITICAL....
Move: 1.Scratch (PP: 2)
2. Roar ( PP: 1)
So which one do you pick? This is the basic so I can't bring you the cool stuff yet.
Ready? Let's start![emoji106]

Scratch - explanation in spoiler tag

I'd use Scratch, Charizard should be faster (don't know levels or items of pokemon), Scratch has normal speed priority so should strike before Bulbasaur can use Tackle or Growl, with Bulbasaur at 10 HP it may be enough for a K/O depending on levels and stats of both pokemon as well a luck such as landing critical hits etc.

Roar will not work because it only switches an opponents pokemon in a trainer battle (it doesn't let you escape from the battle) and because the opponent only has one pokemon the move will fail completely, it also has a low speed priority so would allow Bulbasaur to strike first in the turn, with Charizard's HP critical, one Tackle from Bulbasaur could result in a K/O.

Alright seems only one guy posting here but it's better than nothing. So the basics you have been answered but thisjust the beginning and the results are:
1. Correct. The scratch moves are good place to beat his bulbasaur. After all it's very obvious to know the answers decently
2. Nope you wrong. The explanation has been answered by RC.

So here's the another basic but tricky test for you:

Code: TB
Oponnent has: Taillow(fnt), Pidgeotto.
HP: 50
PP: Gust, Sand-attack, Fly, Aerial Ace
Info: Your Glaceon has just been sand attacked and currently his pokemon are now using fly to swift up.

Your Pokemon: Flaafy(fnt), Glaceon.
HP: 30 low fuel
Move:1.Ice beam( PP: 1)
2.Swift (PP:1)
3. Hail (Out of PP)
4. Protect ( PP:1)
Which one should be use first?
Be careful, if you mistep your choices equals you lose so choose wisely. That's it so I will go now, chiao! And may the odds be with you.
