Do any of you have strategies developed for 6v6 competition? I want to learn how to play the game well, so I'm interested in what strategies good players have worked out.

For me, I like to rush one side of the board early in the game and then use a switch card to toss a powerful 1 MPer into action. That forces my opponent to focus on me early in the game and keeps him or her from setting up their own strategies.

What about you guys?

A basic strategy I've used is to work by speed, using Pokemon like Treeko to outrun your opponent.

I like to start with protecting my goal by moving turtwig or ho-oh close to it, then I go for the opponents goal with my faster ones. And I always try to block their entry points whenever I get the chance. Otherwise the strategy I use pretty much depends on what's happening in the game.

For Blaziken, even if you rush up there with Treecko or an equally fast pokemon, isn't it difficult to face off against tough defending pokemon once you get down there? A lot of times it feels like the effort is wasted if I don't snag a lucky spin. Kyogre, Charizard and other heavy hitters are going to make it pointless to rush if you can't win the fights.

I like the idea of using Ho-Oh and Turtwig as goal defenders. I like to use Golem to defend sometimes as well because between Rock Explosion and Rock Wall, Golem is really difficult to knock out.

Anyone up for a web-based game one night this week? We can use the flash board and/or a webcam. I promise not to cheat. I'm just looking to develop my strategies.

Yeah, I guess. But it's a good basic strategy that can be developed. Also, I've found that it's good to get Meowth next to the goal. If they've got a Pokemon on it, and you spin Fake Out, you win. And I guess I could use Skype and the flash board to play a web-based game.

Yea, I also have golem on my team, but I only bring him out to defend if I really need to, since he's so slow and takes a few turns just to get him in position XD

I'd be willing to battle against you! I won't cheat either, but even if you do, I just play to have fun, so I don't mind losing XD It would be cool to be able to play with lots of people. I just wish I had a webcam.

Of course, my figure access is limited. I have limited funding, and I currently have only 6 figures, one of which has a broken spinner.

I have about 20 figures at the moment. I still really want to pick up Scyther, Lugia, Turtwig, Chimchar and the Judge spinner.

So, I'm not really available to play today. Anyone free on thursday between like 5-7ish EST?

I might be. And I think the judge figure was Australia-only, and the DP figures were replaced by crystal figures.
