I have been watching the anime since it started and noticed some things that make little or no sense. If you have any, post here. Things I noticed:

1) Money. How does the gang go about without seeming to have money? In the games you get money by selling stuff and winning battles, not really happening in anime as far as I saw. They do win battles and so on, but never seem to win money.

2) Food. First the big one, where does the meat in burgers come from as Ash has been seen eating cheese burgers in anime. Second, where does the food come from that Brock always seem to have to feed the gang?

3) Real world animals have been seen in anime, but are not talked about at all. Maybe they were there at start just for testing or first time changes, like the original green pokeballs.

4) when team rocket "dress up" and try to scam the twerps to get their pokemon, half the time, the twerps either don't know its TR, or are hiding that they do, even though Jessie never really looks much different when she dresses up, look at her hair. How can you mistake TR meowth either?

mhmm sortoff like how most the time the fillers make no sence either like the filler were Ash dressed like a gangster in jubilife and had the statue of liberty on his cheek?!? like what is that, where did you go in the last 50 sec ash XD

1) I always assumed that since they are so young, they probably get a lot of money from their parents. Delia probably puts some money in Ash's bookbag every time he comes home, and she could still send some to him and we just don't see it. After all, we never see them go to the bathroom either.

2) I would assume that beef comes from Tauros. We know that people eat pokemon because it's been mentioned that Farfetch'd is delicious and was almost hunted to extinction. I'm sure Brock stocks up on food when they're in town. We have seen them stop at convenience stores before.

3) I doubt that many real world animals will be seen again in the anime. There are so many pokemon now, there is no point to it.

4) Maybe Ash and the twerps are really that dense?

"If you're wondering how he eats and breathes
And other science facts
Just repeat to yourself 'It's just a show
I should really just relax'"

Everything I need to know in life, I learned from "Mystery Science Theater 3000".

That's probably what happened.

I think the fact that Farfetch'd were nearly extinct would mean that they don't eat Farfetch'd anymore (Like how they used to hunt Crocodiles and Alligators for their skin, and then it became illegal to hunt them due to their nearly becoming extinct.). The fact that Farfetch'd reappeared as a relatively more common pokemon in generation II serves as a testament to that fact. Plus, the Pokemon world seemed to think that killing pokemon was a heinous crime (as evidenced by the whole Lavendar Marowak incident, and the cutting of Slowpoke Tails for food.)

3) I doubt that many real world animals will be seen again in the anime. There are so many pokemon now, there is no point to it.

Technically, we still saw or heard animals in the series, as we heard cicadas at night as well as some other real life animals, as Dogasu repeatedly points out. plus, in the 9th movie, they showed a real life animal, kind of. they showed several coral reefs in that movie, and the last time I checked, Coral were animals.

4) Maybe Ash and the twerps are really that dense?

Either that, or Ash and Brock are getting even denser by the day. I mean, at least in Season 1 up to Season 5, when they were tricked, Team Rocket were disguised in such a way that would be virtually impossible to tell that it's them (and also that Ash and Co. were pretty suspicious [sounding it at least] when they were disguised. Now, they can't even see through TR's disguises even when it's blaringly obvious (Case in point, their disguises in "Dawn of a new era" [if you could even call it a disguise, as it was nothing more than glasses, white fans, and green jackets that didn't even cover the crimson "R" symbol of their uniforms] fooled the team.). I mean, if they had to make Ash and Dawn fooled by the disguises, couldn't they at least have Brock identify them?

its animated not a real life show.... damn alot of people on this site needs to get that into there thick heads

The real mystery is why Pokémon fans on this website (or any) want "realism" in a cartoon about monsters.

People have the right to ask any old question they want MistyBrockAsh. We overanalyze everything on this forum.

And I agree with Weedle when he says that those disguises in that episode were pretty bad. Dawn=justified. Ash=he's a bit dense. Brock=he should know and is fucking stupid if he doesn't.

If Ash and friends saw through TR's disguises as easily as we can, there would be no plot and in turn, no real episode.

Besides, it's a show ment for children. They need clear cut villains and heroes to cheer for.

I mean 99.9% of the disguises were fine and i enjoy them. You have a point with those.

The one with Nando for the first time were not enjoyable heh.

1. I proposed in another thread that since they are trainers liscensed by the Pokemon League, they get a stipend of money sent to them gt free access to Pokemon Centers, and discounts at Pokemon Marts and such.

2. They eat Pokemon. I believe the early episodes showed things like regular fish and that Mongoose, and Things like Farfetche'd are a favorite dish, Pidgeotto eat Caterpie, and they fantasized about eating Magikarp in " Pokemon Shipwrech". So I assume that meat comes from Pokemon such as Tauros. Also, we see several times how the gang stops into a town or city, so maybe Brock stops at the loal mart to stock up on supplies.

3. I don't know.

4. Man, it's just like Clark Kent. Put a pair of glasses on, ad sddenly everybody is fooled.

So everyone that doesn't realize that Clark Kent is Superman is an idiot? Suspension of disbelief, it happens a lot in children's cartoons, accept it and you have one less complaint.

Regardless, I find it hilarious how the haters constantly pick on stuff like Ash being stupid despite how many other anime/JRPG that have slow-witted male protagonists.

I always wondered how badly in debt Team Rocket must be from paying for their mechas. It couldn't have come from Giovanni, because he would have fired them by now if that was the case. Maybe their "real jobs" (vendors, etc.) pay a heck of a lot or something.

Like inuyasha?

They do have money. Ash actually bought the potion he got to heal Pikachu back in the Squirtle Squad ep, if my memory serves me correctly. In fact, in the Pewter City episode, it showed Misty leaving Ash with the bill for dinner. Other times they argued that they were broke. And other times, they made it clear that they could eat for free, like the "All you can eat Buffet" for the trainers entered in the Indigo League during the conference. Any other time they may not have to pay for stuff - could be due to their status, particularly Brock or Misty, who had gym certifications. It could be the same way as putting something on "business expenses", haha.

2) Food. First the big one, where does the meat in burgers come from as Ash has been seen eating cheese burgers in anime. Second, where does the food come from that Brock always seem to have to feed the gang?[/quote]
It doesn't necessarily have to come from Pokemon. I remember in many of the restaraunt episodes they showed plates of food that looked like any of the things we eat. If they do in fact come from Pokemon though, then Tauros, Pidgey (overpopulation), Farfetch'd, etc... Pidgey Pot Pies.

Brock gets food from shops. Several times throughout the anime, he's argued that he hasn't seen any Pokemart or Pokecenter around to shop for supplies or food. He's mentioned it in both Kanto and Johto episodes for sure. Oh, the Johto episode in which it was mentioned was "A Better Pill to Swallow" with old man Shuckle. And I think he mentioned running out of Supplies in the Squirtle ep as well, which is why Ash had to go to the mart in the first place.

3) Real world animals have been seen in anime, but are not talked about at all. Maybe they were there at start just for testing or first time changes, like the original green pokeballs.
These same real world animals could be the answer to the food questions. Anyway, as time went by, I think they stopped showing them. Particularly in the first season.

The outfits may look the way they are to us so that it's apparent who they are (particularly to kids), but to the actual characters the disguise could be a lot greater. And as mentioned before, if th characters revealed them easy then the plot of the given episode would be shortened immensely. Besides, not all their disguises were bad. I was just rewatching the "Scent-Sation" episode recently - their outfits to disguise themselves in the gym were impressive.

Giovanni doesn't give his consent, but the money does come from Rocket funds. At one point, I don't remember if this was CD or in the actual anime, he said he keeps them around merely to pay off their debt.

maybe its just like the game they give out money after battles

Well, most of the gripes I have about this show has to do with type matchups.

But I've particularly found all of those times when Pikachu (or some other electric type) manages to defeat a ground type using electric attacks ridiculous. Seriously, you've gotta wonder how many little kids thought they could defeat Brock that way. -_-;;;

Yeah, that's exactly what I was thinking.

I've always wondered that too. Maybe they really are that stupid, who knows?
