Here's a couple of attacks that are kind of stupid to have on certain Pokemon.

-Rest on Shedinja. It's only got 1 HP, so it's really useless to have it
-Iron Tail on Alakazam. 1. Kazam's attack is crap, and 2. It doesn't even have a tail like Abra and Kadabra do
-Iron Tail on Lapras. Lapras doesn't have much of a tail, and even if it did use Iron Tail on someone else, it would have to be really close to it's opponent, and by that I mean come out of the water

Feel free to add yours

Flamethrower and Thunderbolt on Tauros

he's a bull
what's he gonna be spitting fire for?

and Flame Wheel on Ratatta
where's he gonna get the fire from?

*Scratch/Slash/Fury Swipes/etc. on Diglett/Dugtrio: these Pokémon have no claws that we've ever seen
*Scratch/Fury Swipes on Primeape: how could you possibly scratch anything with boxing glove-like hands? o_O

"Dear Primape: How do you Fury Swipes with boxing gloves on your hands? Crapfully yours..."

Never mind.

Anyway, Bounce on Ponyta/Rapidash. Maybe it's just that the move has a misleading name, but that sure doesn't seem like a creature that could bounce.

Ponyta/Rapidash can definitely bounce, haven't you ever seen antelopes/gazelles bounce on TV??

I suspect that that move would be using "bounce" as a synonym for "jump," which horses do on a regular basis. A "bounce" is also a specific type of jumping pattern used for training horses and building strength in their hindquarters, though as Grumpig also has the move I highly doubt that the term is used to indicate that. Another way in which horses bounce is that a horse expressing energy in a crowded area might canter normally with his forelegs while moving his hind legs simultaneously, appearing to spring on his hind legs. A "bouncing" movement is also apparent in the high-school movements of the Spanish Riding School in Vienna, wherein the horse rears up and springs forward on his hind feet. This move is called the courbette.

-sweatdrops- Okay, out of the stable and into the thread now. Both "Spit Up" AND "Swallow" on a Pelipper (or anything else for that matter.) Substitute on Shedinja (dare I ask how that would work out?) Aerial Ace on a ground type, or, for that matter, on anything that lacks wings or a mechanism to leap high enough into the air to perform any sort of Flying attack. Many of the Hidden Powers- HP-Ground on a Flying type. HP- Ice on a Fire type; wouldn't the fire melt the ice so that it would come out more of an HP- Water?

Spoinks and Grumpigs have an actual bouncing action because they have springs for tails

As for Spit Up and Swallow, why is that weird? It's 2 seperate moves, Pelipper isn't performing them at the same time. It make perfect sense to me, they go along well with Stockpile because you have to "stockpile" the energy first, then decide whether to "swallow" it (healing) or "spit" it out (attacking)

Water Gun on Meowth. Very out of place seeing as they hate water.

Magical Leaf, on Pokémon that have no leaves.

Generally Meowth do share many other traits with felines, so I just assumed
that they shared that one.

Wasn't Aerial Ace originally called "Beak slash"? If so, that at least explains how Sceptile can do it, since it has the beak...

why does hoppip know splash? it supposedly floats through the air. plus thunderbolt on a gyrados? lol water conducts electricity, it would shock everything

Hyper Beam on anything ever.

Slaking + Choice Band + Hyper Beam = PWNAGE! Destroys anything but Rocks, Ghosts, Steels, Protect, Detect and Shedinja.

Problem with Hyper Beam is that Slaking is one of a very few who can use it effectively.

I never did get why Dugtrio and Tyranitar could learn Aerial Ace, yet Gyarados can't...
