To tell the truth, there are many stupid types, for excample, Water and Grass. Getting blasted by water doesn't hurt, and grass doesn't really do anything. So, which types do you think are stupid. Oh yeah, and sorry if you think "Stupid" is offensive.

Looks like someone's never been blasted with a fire hose or come into contact with poison ivy.

Exactly and that's being polite. Drowning would hurt and water is an extremely common element. Grass is another extremely common type of plant and it had to be be in. Some people really are stupid

Calling a move stupid acually depends on the move you have in mind to represent a type.. For example, Bubble and Hydro Cannon are both water type moves. You're saying that water doesn't do much harm. Bubble doesn't seem harmful at all (unless they're made of soap, then that's a different story xD). Hydro Cannon is comparable to a fire hose, which is pretty bad if you get hit by one.

The Grand Canyon called the Colorado River stupid once...that was before it was called the Grand Canyon.

Bug is even more stupid than grass. Do you think a wurmple would kill somebody?

I've seen a Weedle sweep a whole team after correct setup. The same strategy can apply to Wurmple. You should never judge them by their looks. Wurmple still has potential to sweep legendaries,so it is dangerous.

Mod note: Guys, if you wish to discuss which type you disagree with, please remember to keep it civil.

Yeah, but for them to even be good, they had to make them evolve early. But in real life, Beedrill sure would hurt and Volcanora would basically kill me.

Indeed, or blasted with a high powered pressure washer, or been in contact with any plant with thorns. Or cut by razor sharp grasses.

Maybe "ineffective in real life" is a more polite term?

Well, some moves may not hurt but, a lot of moves could injure or kill a person. Such as Razor Leaf which could cut you up or, Surf which could drown you. I agree some moves might not hurt you but, most moves could. So no types are stupid, you should rethink what you said.

I bet Hydro Pump hurts too. Do you know how much water weighs!?

Well, a small spider doesn't look very threatening, but some types of them pack enough poison to kill a human in a very short period of time. If I remember correctly, Wurmple can also use poison moves, which means, yes, it could kill a person when using the right amount of poison.

Well of course it would hurt! You would get blasted by a huge torrent of water!

Bug - not because it's "stupid" or a bad idea or anything, but there's really nothing to it. Almost every technique considered "Bug-type" could be re-labelled under a different category... mostly either Normal, Poison, or Grass
Dark - everything could be reclassified under Normal or Fighting (for moves like Bite and Sucker-punch which are physical but "cheap tactics") or Ghost (for anything shadowy-looking)
Rock and Ground - these should be combined into a single "Earth" type.

But that's only according to your logic. For Game Freak, more types = more strategy. If there were only 10 or so types, there wouldn't be as much variety in the Pokemon either, or as many unique type combinations. It's just better for the games.
