Hello! I've been out of the roleplaying business for quite a while, now, but I decided I wanted to start again. I hope all you roleplayers here make my return worthwhile!

Plot:
For as long as anyone can remember, Olivine City has been the target of hurricanes, tropical storms and tsunami. Not that tsunami happen often, of course, but as the players are having an otherwise regular day a warning is issued. They're forced to evacuate to the nearest shelter and wait as thunderous waves crash against the shore.

Unfortunately, it's reported not everyone made it to higher ground in time, and the tsunami caused massive physical damage to the city. The survivors (which does include the players and their families, if they have any) will have to relocate elsewhere.

Not everybody is ready to move on and get back to their normal lives, though. The humid air is thick with talk of starting Pokemon adventures now that most of the people there no home to return to...and considering how the players stumbled upon something horrifying in the shelter, it seems they'll have to begin packing their bags.

Rules:
1) Obviously, you must abide by Bulbagarden's general forum rules and RPG forum rules.
2) I will only accept literate roleplayers. Improper grammar and things are A-okay out of character, but not in character.
3) Personally, I hate it when people describe their character's appearance rather than give me a visual, so I would like it if you made something with the Subeta Wardrobe Wizard. I understand if for some reason you can't (computer lags, etc), but I would really, really appreciate it if you did design your character with it. In case you're not sure what to do, I'll give you a run-down of things:

• Body, Hair, Hair Color, Eyes, Eye Color, Mouth, Nose: these components are what make up your character's general appearance. When in the wardrobe section, you can access this section with the "Edit Base" button. Also, about the hair and eyes - there are many wearable wigs and eyes in the wardrobe section that aren't available in the base section. If you'd like to use one of those wigs or eyes, just set the hair on the base to bald and change the eyes so they aren't visible over the wearable eyes. There's also an "Edit Hair" feature, but I don't recommend using it unless you seriously know what you're doing.
  
• Wardrobe Section: there are many categories in the wardrobe for you to use. Most of them should be obvious, but "Popular" and "Recently Added" might confuse you. "Popular" is a list of wearable items often used by users of the Wardrobe Wizard, and "Recently Added" is a list of items that have, well, been recently added to the Wizard. Oh, and you can ignore that "Price Range" thing. When in the base section, you can access the wardrobe section with the "Choose Wardrobe" button.
• If you're still at a loss as to what to do with the Wizard, please don't be afraid to ask me!

4) With the appearance, your character should look relatively normal for someone in the Pokemon world. Meaning, no wings, no animal familiars, no weapons, etc. A strange marking or two is alright, but don't overdo it.
5) You can have Pokemon from any region, but no legendaries or pseudo-legendaries (Garchomp, etc) are allowed.
6) The average post should be 2-3 paragraphs long. Occasional one-liners are acceptable if they're needed.
7) Have fun! Although I know I'm probably coming across as strict, I do want everyone to have fun in my roleplay.

How they view themselves: He views himself as someone who hasn't accomplished much and probably never will. Not that he finds anything wrong with that. Jon considers himself to be someone who is pathetic and bored.
Plans for the future: Continue working at a dead-end job in a dead-end town with dead-end friends for the rest of his life. Maybe take up nursing.
History: He lived in Ecruteak his whole life. Jon has his nursing degree but became bored with the profession and became a coffee shop employee. His mother died of cancer and his father lives in Goldenrod. He wished to be a abstract painter his whole life but has never showed any of his paintings to anyone else since his father told him that was an unacceptable profession.

General demeanor: Despite her eccentric nature, Isadora is actually kind of shy to strike up (serious) conversations due to being bullied as a little kid. She has a bad idea of what's socially acceptable, but she's generally a nice and fun person to hang out with and she loves making friends.
Positive traits: She's incredibly motivated; once she begins something, she won't stop for anything until it's finished. She's also very creative and likes astounding people with her ideas and 'inventions'. If she warms up to someone, she really starts looking out for them.
Negative traits: Isadora cheats her way through school. She finds learning through books and movies to be incredibly boring (she only likes cartoons and comic books), and prefers learning through experiences, which she devotes almost all of her leisure time to. She gets average grades, and doesn't plan on going to college or university or anything. She's never confronted for her grades - she was when she was younger, but she has learned tricks to making cheating more discreet. She's considering dropping out as soon as she meets age requirements.
Her relentlessness and compulsive lying tend to interfere with Isadora's relationships, too. Even if she really loves a friend, there aren't many things that will keep her from swiping things from them or ignoring them when they need her. She's rather forgetful, as well.
Strengths: Isadora's interests include biking, dancing, tending to plants and playing pretend (don't worry, she's not delusional. Just childish). She's usually found outside somewhere near the beach, mixing bits of weeds with shampoo and dish soap and calling herself a 'potion master' while wearing an old wizard hat. Sometimes she runs up to unsuspecting kids and sells them her creations for a hefty price, giving outrageous instructions for what to do with them. She warns them not to drink her potions, though, as they are 'highly poisonous to both humans and animals!' Her scheme works half the time, but otherwise the 'customer' is a brother or sister of another kid she ripped off and they give her what-for.
Weaknesses: Isadora is terrified of water - even though she lives by the ocean, she's heard so many horror stories about it she won't step a foot on the shore.
How they view themselves: Isadora thinks she's going to become something great someday. That someday may be far off, though, if she keeps living life the same way everyday.
Plans for the future: Isadora isn't sure what she wants to be when she grows up, though it has to be something fun. She's quite a fan of telekinesis and is thinking about pursuing it, but she kinda wishes she could be on TV as an actress or a host of some kid's show (she doesn't have high hopes for either).
History: Isadora grew up knowing she would never be a success in the eyes of her parents, and that they weren't her true ones. Her half-sister, Lavonne, once told her that she hadn't been adopted for a good reason, but she still offered the warmth and closeness their parents often refused her. For her, knowing that she was loved by at least one person was enough to keep her going, though she tried earnestly to impress her parents with her grades until realizing they wouldn't be proud of her unless her grades were legit - her teachers had informed them that she was cheating. Since then Isadora's given up on aiming for high scores in school, thinking that what her parents want her to be wasn't as important as what she wants herself to be.

Appearance: The first thing you'll notice about Lana is her steel-grey eyes. It was what inspired her middle name, Jasmine, the steel-gym leader of Olivine. Then its her long, dark chocolate hair, slightly kinked and flowing freely. She often wears a short white floaty dress, and in colder months, dark jeans under it. Her skin was pale, but quickly tanned. Its since faded to a medium tone.

Personality
General demeanor: First thoughts of Lana often make her out to be quite cold. True, she isn't always the friendliest of souls, but she does have a caring side. She's never been comfortble around other humans, and finds it easier to talk to Pokemon. This has made her rather on the shy side.
Positive traits: Lana is a deeply caring soul, and while it might not always show, she is always concerned for those she cares about. She treats pokemon as her equal. Once you earn her trust, she is a devoted friend.
Negative traits: She used to be hurt very easily, and has grown a defensive side around her to protect herself, often making her seem cold. She is not all meek and mild, though. She will go to greath lengths to protect her friends and family if you anger her.
Strengths : Devoted, Loyal and Caring.
Weaknesses: Sometimes cold, and overprotective. Very shy, likes to stay out of the limelight.
How they view themselves: Lana sees herself as a average girl, and strives hard to fit into that role. She has made herself believe she isn't pretty and infact, very ordinary.
Plans for the future: Lana dreams of getting away from Olivine. She'd like nothing more than to live a quiet life off the track with her pokemon. She has toyed with the idea of becoming a pokemon nurse, however, she hates seeing pokemon hurt.
History: Lana is a guarded soul, and much isn't known. What is know about her, there isn't much to tell. She was born in Cianwood, but moved to Olivine at a young age when her father got a job there in the Lighthouse. She has lived with her parents most of her life, and at the time of the tsunami was looking for a house on her own. Lana isn't a only child; she has a elder sister who is almost six years older than her who left to become a trainer during the move to Olivine. It's been rumoured she had a rough relationship about two years back and has never been the same...

Personality: Fiercly loyal to his trainer, Raichu is highly protective of his trainer. It seems as if he feels he's let her down and is very distrusting of strangers.
History: Raichu was gifted as a Pichu to Lana on her eight birthday by her parents. The two became inseperable and Pichu evolved on Christmas Day the same year. She recieved a Thunderstone from a relative on her 12th birthday and evolved Pikachu with it.

General demeanor: Usually a peppy, happy person with a certain contagious bounce to her step. She may come across a little klutzy and forgetful, but she’s really not that disorganized.
Positive traits: Lacey’s fairly good at giving advice. She is patient and caring, and always seems to have time to listen to your problems.
Negative traits: Has a tendency to get over emotional on occasion. Lacey seems to usually not be on time, on account of listening to people’s problems. Sometimes, it seems that she just can’t say “No.”
Strengths: Patience, generally upbeat personality, advice giving abilities.
Weaknesses: Paralyzing fear of Sunfloras, and her ability to fall over most things. Not being able to say “No.”
How they view themselves: As the clumsy, bubbly friend that always listens to your problems, no matter how insignificant you think they may be.

General Demeanour: Maya is a kind person at heart, and often trusts easily. Her sense of humour is odd, and takes some getting used to. It is also hard to tell when she is being sarcastic, which is annoying at times, but she never lets get to the best of her. She’s generally laid back and goes with the flow; however she will warn her peers if she is uncomfortable about something.
Positive traits: Kindness, Giving, Easily Trusting Nature
Negative traits: Odd Sense of Humour, Sometimes Lazy
Strengths: Good thinker, artist and interpreter.
Weaknesses: kindness, easily trusting nature, inability to deny a cry for help.
How they view themselves: Maya believes she isn’t as much of a special person as her friends and family says she is. She often doubts herself, and usually finds herself questioning what worth has has on this planet.
Plans for the future: Maya is unsure about what she wants to achieve in life. Everything seems so appealing to her, making her decision all that much more difficult. However, she works part-time at the flower shop in Goldenrod City, and often visits Jasmine’s Gym or the National Park nearby to study and report any rare findings of Pokémon.
History: Maya has had a very troubled past, fleeing from her original hometown to greet the warm hands of Goldenrod. She has a mother, two brothers and a deceased father; however she usually prefers not to talk about them.
