Greetings Workshop, and welcome to the second batch of Awards for this year: our Summer spectacle showcase!
The sun is about to be shining all over the northern hemisphere and cook you all to death, while winter is about to descend about the southern and freeze us all to the death - so rather than risk the ever changing weather in your region, lets all stay indoors and read some stories instead!
Of course, in order for there to be an Awards ceremony, we need to have some nominees, so put down the snow shovels and beach balls and lets start the Nomination Process! You have a week (until noon on June 8th NZT) to message me with your nominations. So you know what that entails, please read some brief category blurbs and the more detailed rules below:
Once the nominations are in place, we will have the Voting Round which will determine the works that make it into the Judging Round. Whatever you do, do not let the thought of this scare you off submitting your work; the voter’s mind is an unpredictable thing, so your story and/or characters could just the right number to let them move on! We only have the voting round cause our lovely judges are either at school/university, on holiday or spend their days quietly weeping in corners over the latest blow to the Fantasy Football teams, so we do not have the time to read every fic that is submitted and we need some help to decide which ones are truly worthy on moving on. However, nearly all the stories in most categories do move on, and those that do get at least two reviews guaranteed so it is worth at least trying! At the same time, do not think that someone else is going to nominate you and wait for that to happen – if you want to be entered, then enter yourself, it is very easy! We want everyone in the Fairground to have the chance to win one of our badges, and the more people that enter the merrier we all shall be!
And to those that plan on nominating other peoples work, don't waste those six slots on stories that are likely going to be nominated by their writer anyway.
So get nominating and lets make this one of the best Awards yet

-Best Journey Fic (for stories that follow a gym or contest storyline or something of a similar theme)
-Best Dark Fic (for stories that have dark themes/a dark or mature storylines at the core of the story)
-Best Crossover/Non Pokemon Fic (for stories that cross over Pokemon with another franchise or a story that is either from a different fandom or is completely original)
-Best Expansion (for stories that expand on canon characters and concepts)
-Best Alternate (for all stories that don’t go anywhere else)
-Best Protagonist (the lead of your story)
-Best Antagonist (the villain of your story)
-Best Supporting Character (any other character in your story)
-Best Pokemon Character (for Pokemon characters that have been written exceptionally well. Pokemon that speak human/English are allowed here.)
For more detailed blurbs, turn your attention towards the Hall of Fame.
The rules:
- When nominating your own work, you can nominate two stories/characters per category, but there is a limit of four nominations for the story categories and seven nominations for the character categories. When you are nominating someone else's work, you can nominate three stories and three characters and only one per category – this is so people do not just nominate what they will then vote for. If you are nominating your own work, you can still nominate other peoples but put it underneath your nominations.
- A link to each story must be provided just for ease of checking your work. Your entry will be void if you do not submit a link and I will not be reminding you. Any entries which are not properly filled out will be ignored
- Fics that have been updated since February 9th NZ Time are eligible for these Awards. Work updated during this nomination week are allowed but any chapters posted after the Voting Thread is up will not be counted. Any character you nominate should have appeared in a chapter that has been posted during this period.
- You may only nominate your stories in one category: ie, you can't submit 'Generic Journey Story #247' in Best Journey and Best Expansion, only choose one. Do not try and slip your stories/characters into other categories in order to get them in (ie if you have three Journey fics and you try to get one of them nominated under Alternate). If we catch you out the story will be made void and it may hamper for your Awards chances.
- Do not ask people to nominate your work, as there is no point since you can just do it yourself.
